Why did I hate Psychonauts? Maybe hate was a strong word but overall games like Psychonauts and Portal are exactly alike.
Both games have to have their comedy connect with you.
I found Portal funny.
I found Psychonauts boring.
Its all opinion and comedy styles in the end.

I had trouble believing his description of the morphine mode in Velvet Assassin so I looked it up on google.

Although maybe that's because all I ever used them for is killing everyone.
Especially yuppies though.

The only time I've thoroughly disagreed with him is with Condemned 2; no one in that game says 'ancient mystical cult'.
Eh, I agree with most of what hes saying, in all honesty.
He does take it too far - but thats part of the humour of it. And I find it of great amusement how it wasn't just me that found Halo 3 crap. It got repetitive, and boring, and suddenly appeared to have turned into "Okay, Intestine crawl time. Oooo, look at the pretty doors. *SQUELCH* Oh thats just nasty.".
Meh, I didn't like it, even having played the other 2.

i think he said it best in one of his episodes(cant remember the one) im a crtic i wouldn't be doing my job if i just said something nice about every game. that pretty much sums him up he gives his real reviews in his own way no matter how crazy, rude, funny, or just down right werid its hows the man operates
Why do people think Halo 3 should have a standalone plot? It's Halo 3. The third game in the trilogy. It's pretty obvious that it's gonna be picking up plot points from the previous two games.
Honestly, that's like watching Return of the Jedi and complaining that it didn't spend 20 minutes recapping everything that happened in the Empire Strikes Back.

Well thats all I ever used the GTA games for, which is why I have never owned a copy, instead playing a mates version. As to your opinion, are you agreeing with me or JemJar?dontworryaboutit said:

I really doubt his opinion would have changed if he had played multiplayer.
Furthermore, if I was to release a five-minute game and give it multiplayer, it would still be a five-minute game.
EDIT: I do realise this is the third criticism of that comment.

Personally, I feel that Yatzhee exaggerates his opinions to the furthest realms of hyperbole, which is fine - since it is supposed to be comedy - right up until the point where people start using them as actual critiques of the game.
The best sequels should have plots that are excellent in their own right; not just addendums to the previous story, which Halo 3's plot essentially was (See those aliens from Halo and Halo 2? They're invading Earth now!).scnj said:

He may not make up things, but there are plenty of times he just doesn't pay attention to something and he's flat out wrong. I hate to sound like a mirror's edge crazed fellow, it's just one of the ones I can list off the top of my head. He claimed the plot was insanely difficult to follow and was about delivering some crazy secret package.
There's one package you deliver in the game, in the first half hour, and it has nothing to do with the plot, nor is its contents ever discussed. 15 minutes of gameplay after that you learn that the main character's sister was framed for murder. The plot is really, really simple, to the point of it being specifically and very simply explained in detail through the dialog.

I agree, even though it was my kind of humour I found little even smile worhty. Stuff that sounded funny on paper failed to amuse me in execution. I also disagree with Yahtzee's "I hope we're not so jaded that we can't allow a few gameplay issues to get in the way of a game that's actualy fun" when it wasn't a FEW issues.Khazoth said:
