It's always been slower for me than firefox, which is why I don't use it, I also hate clicking some links and it opens up a window in IE than firefox. I don't use it so stop bringing up that shit, I can't even deliver an e-mail in IE without major lag. I've never used anything since I switched to firefox, my only complaint is it's a resource guzzler.

I use Firefox even though it does seem to crash more and feels generally slower. I like to support the underdog and quite like the customisable features and addons for firefox as well as the nice logo.

I'm using IE on my sister's laptop right now, but I'm usually on my mom's laptop using Firefox.

I use Google chrome the only time I am FORCED to use IE is to go into my college's webportal. And personally the day they realize the awesomeness of chrome, will be a great day indeed.

I use IE for 1 reason, and 1 reason only, to watch ZShare videos, Firefox refuse to play them and I am to lazy to fix it myself.

Thanks for the disclaimer. As someone who checks StatCounter somewhat regularly, I agree that they are more generous to newer versions of IE and to non-IE browsers than most sites of its type.

I've used Firefox ever since literally my first day at college. Like, not even the first day of classes; the day I moved in. They had it on the lab computer down the hall from my dorm, and I noticed it and was like "Hey I've heard of Mozilla, what are they up to these days?" That was back when it was still in beta. Literally version 0.9. Discovered tabs and never went back. When IE7 came out, I took one look at its interface and went "Yeeeeaaaaaaah no".

Now, as a Web developer, I need Firefox for some of the developer tools and plugins. I only use IE for testing, and even then only when the client sees something wrong. Officially, IE8 is supposed to render standards-compliant pages the same as everyone else; in practice... well, at best IE8 is our final say in whether the code is really standards-compliant or not, and at worst there are still some inconsistencies.

I'm curious what all these sites are that only render properly in IE though. In the six years I've been using Firefox, I've never encountered one.

Speaking as a Web developer, you people are the bane of my existence. THE BANE I SAY!!!

And you would be wrong.

I prefer IE, simply because it is compatable with EVERYTHING.
The business world uses IE because other businesses use IE. Most web designers basically write their sites twice. Once for IE, and once for all of the other browsers. The reason they do it is because the other browser makers got together and said we're going to use this good standard, and Microsoft told them all to get fucked, we're not changing until our major customers decide they want us to.

If I need to go to a site at work, there's a good chance it's still compatible with IE 4, or a special site that you don't need to worry about.

This site has encountered an error. Please contact the webmaster to inform them of this error. It was actually a subsection of the site, so most of the site loaded properly.

He then sent me the entire script in an IRC chat room, and I told him to change a single variable, and the site went to IE and standard compliant.

Opera, because its fast, heavy customisable. Best Bookmark/favorites handling with search and such.
Has more options on how to view downloads. Has many colorschemes etc. Has a sexy sidebar and doesn't require a addon for this. Its made in my country! Pretty stable compared to others (had so many Ie and FF crashes)

I used to solely use IE, but it became so bloated and cluttered.

Chrome is so sleek and sexy....I just hope it doesn't grow and twist and become as bad as IE did. But hey, for now Google chrome is FTW.

49.9 is still "on top" because that means 50.1 percent is EVERYONE ELSE COMBINED.

So sad...

I was on a Firefox kick for a while, only using Chrome for schoolwork, but now Chrome is all I use.

The last update I downloaded for IE drove me insane. It crashed constantly, kept resetting my favourites, and generally fucked me about.

So I tried Chrome, and wouldn't dream of going back to that flaky piece of shit.
