I don't listen to Deep Purple because it's nostalgic, I respect the band and it's achievements, and most of all enjoy the music "even though it's old". I also enjoy older movies as well as newer ones, just a few weeks ago I watched The Maltese Falcon from 1942, and I liked it. Besides I also enjoy to map out what happened when so that I can better understand why things are what they are today, I like to draw parallels to see how far back things go.omega 616 said:Well do you have respect for everything that made todays things possible? Todays films, games, phones etc. In a time when technology quickly becomes superseded within months and everybody wants the latest thing, no body respects were they came from only remember them when they become nostalgic.CincoDeMayo said:Our youth has no respect for the roots of music, they just care about what's in at the very moment.
We seem to miss out on the fact that it's because of the older stuff that our new shiny things actually exist, but no one honors or respects that anymore.
