Stake the production team out in front of the office building, smear them with jam, and release the killer ants as a warning to the next 10 generations! then sell the FF IP to Bioware. then resign.

What?

I'd do an HD version of FF 7, because that's what everybody seems to want.
Then I'd stop production of FF games for a little while, and focus on the Just Cause franchise, because that IP has so much potential.
Just Cause has to be taken slooooowly. Very bloody slowly.

Final fantasy is baaaaaaaaaaaad, and i like it because of that. Dont change much, keep mixing it up with each iteration and stop making mmos . Stop. Your not good at them square your just not.
FF13 was so very simmilar to the other ones ( which are all linear, unless you people have played Elder scrolls or mass effect, then you dont know what non-linear means.) and it was good. it gave me the required amount of cheese that i enjoy, battle system was interesting an far more tactical than most of the other ones. It was a good final fantasy.
So it keep her steady as she goes, possibly making KH3 for the 360/psp/3ds...any console i actually own infact...

Which one? There have been dozens of teams that have worked on the series.
look into your heart... you know the answer!
sorry felt like a Darth Paraphrase there.

I'd say the team for the last game. then work my way back if a bigger example needs to be made
i liked the middle 4-5 games or so after that... it suffers a sharp decline. in my opinion of course!

actually i'd be quite tempted to lease the IP to different RGP specialists for a while...

CD Projekt, Bioware, Obsidian, Bethusda, you know to mix things up a bit. each one can make 1 stand alone game set in the FF universe.

Make a game that doesn't repeatedly involve a group of character who you play 3 at a time guiding down a skill tree and fighting bad guys to earn experience to get to the next level trying to take down a cataclysmic world changing event.

Two words.

Mercy. Killing.

Seriously, the series has gone so far downhill at this point I'm almost ashamed to admit I played the old ones. Last one I bothered to finish was 9. Liked it more than 8... which I liked less than 7 (by a whole lot) which was about even with 6.... yeah.

I'd let the game die with some shred of dignity left intact rather than whore the series out any longer!!
This kind of topic always reminds me how stupid people can be around here. Did it ever cross your mind that someone else might like something you don?t.
Have you ever tried simply ignoring Final Fantasy and playing something else if you don?t like it anymore?
*looks at OP.

Pretty sure it says what I would do if I owned the company. This sort of response always reminds me how stupid people are. Did it ever cross your mind that someone else might not like something you do? Have you ever tried simply ignoring a topic if you don't like it?

If you wanna complain about people that don't like FF anymore, go make a topic about it. Don't jack this one.

Crossover with Dragon Quest!
*nerdgasm*

Oh dear god, that would be AWESOME! Can we throw Chrono Trigger into the mix as well?!
Yes...yes we can. Anyone else think dissidia was a missed opportunity to have ALL square franchises brawl?

A) Start realizing that there IS a significant difference between the Japaneese market, the American market, and the European market. While the Japaneese may think that Hope is adorable, and that Rikku going nuts over thunderbolts in FFX wasn't a complete annoyance, it nearly drove me to snap the disk. Some of the characters are just absolutely and utterly annoying, and I honestly think this is culture-based.

B) Go back and look at the combat system. It has been flawed and absolutely unlikable in the FF series for ages now. With FF-XIII, it got better, but... going "here, now you can mash 'A' for autocombat" really isn't a strong point. For the most part, the FF series still feels like a good story tied together by relatively weak gameplay.

C) Make a new Seiken Dentetsu / Secret of Mana. This might just be nostalgia, but that game was actually good.

D) Start making movies, if story is ultimately their strong side. The Bouncer had pretty much the exact same problem. Some of the Squaresoft games have always seemed like an excuse to try and get a story across.

I would create a chain of Facebook apps, where you manage and build businesses on Gran Pulse. Maybe something about a farm as well...? Yeah. That sounds good, you can grow fenix downs and sell them to the item vendor. Sounds fun already.

(That was a joke!)

I would probably just have them keep doing what they're doing. I would also hand the reins of the company to somebody who knows what they are talking about. I'm not good at managing things, that's why I'd fail at those stupid apps.

I def want some more diversity in settings and people. I want to go to towns and meet people with their own personalities and dilemmas that I can help them with (or make worse). I feel like some little touches, like for instance being able to go into the church in Midgard and see the ghost of Aeris that one time, and then never again (but you can still go there) is all but lost. Stop focusing on getting the story from point A to point B, and spend more time making the world/experience as a whole more interesting and engrossing.

Also, airships.

FF7 Remake with maybe a bit less plot-induced stupidity (handing the world-destroying artifact to the easily mind-controlled main character who 5 minutes ago said not to do this), Dissidia 3: Triangle-odecim with Barret and Blank, Kingdom Hearts 3, and a sequel/remake of Advent Children that didn't suck.
