When I taught my friend how to use the GECK, the first thing he did was create a minigun that shot mini nukes. He goes to Megaton, grabs the gun, gives himself an absurd amount of mini nukes, and then went on a murdering rampage.

My poor little computer never was the same after that.

I was walking along with my trusty dog, then it got shot by some raiders. I got out a baseball bat and ran over to them and beat them to death. It was very satisfing.

Started up a new game on Fallout 3, got out of the vault and picked up the first survivalist quest from Moira to go find food. Headed down to the Super Duper Mart just in time to see an Alien ship crash in the parking lot.

Running over too see if I could help (not loot bodies and nick stuff) I then got one shotted by a raider with the Firelance unique weapon.

Thats right, one of the most powerful weapons in the game got ninja'd off me by a raider.

The bastard.
Exact same thing happened to me. I was taking my usual route, sneaking around the side, and heard an explosion. I came round to the front, killed one raider, and the other one started firing back. He hit me with one shot, before I managed to get behind a column, realising that said shot had taken away half of my health. At first I was thinking "WTF, how does he have a plasma pistol?". Then I looted the corpse and found the Firelance.

Nice gun, shame it degrades like hell, with no spares and virtually no ammo.

I was exploring the NW area of the wasteland - with all the satellite dishes - and came upon many bridges and broken cars. I was looking around and next thing I know I hear this almight *bang* and a person's corpse gets flung out of what appeared to be a bus and proceeded to fall over the side of the bridge. That was an unexpected and pretty epic experience :)

I have one, it's from my current playthrough (I'm finally going for 100% with all quests, locations, bobble heads, skill books, and all weapons... I have all expansions so yeah..)
Anyways, for this play through I'm playing the evil character. But not evil as in guns down everyone, evil as in classy evil. The kind of evil that terrorizes the populace, and oppresses them. Only knocking out entire settlements when they piss me off.

First I went to Megaton and made my self out to be the hero, that would disarm the bomb. After burke offered me 500 caps, to blow up the town. I agreed, only to turn him in to Lucas Simms.. as Lucas was gunned down by Burke, I immediately got the hit on Burke. Now with Burke dead, I was able to have an easier time with my Tenpenny visit. But that's later..

Lucas dead gave me the perfect opportunity to turn Megaton into my town, first I raided the armory for my extra supplies. Went on to grab the hunting rifle from Lucas' house. With that, I began going around to everyone and learning their movements. With that I was able to select two or three individuals that I didn't quite like the way they addressed me, and followed their daily movement pattern and after they all got to a nice quiet secluded location I stealth boy up, and put the explosives into their pockets.

With them gone, I decided to do some quests for Moria. After I had completed her silly book, I knocked her off and her mercenary, robbed the store. But everyone was still all Thank you for saving the town, even after five people had mysteriously gone missing.

My next evil trick, was to let the ghouls into the Tower. With that done, I was able to walk freely without fear of ghoul attacks. Which waste ammo, anyways I went back to the tower. A few days later, to take shelter from a fight with some uncool raiders and a random spawned death claw.

Inside the Tower, someone said something about me when I walked by. So I left a few presents around the tower. Having amassed a good amount of bottle cap mines, I laid them everywhere. Left and when I came back randomly, I noticed everyone had died. Pleased, I looted the tower. And to this day it sits abandoned.
'
So far, I think this playthrough is my best so far. :3

i was scouting the waste land for something to pay for my new houses decor, when i saw a pram out in the middle of a big open platoue, curiouse i walked up and found a female dead raider clearly not in motherly condition (i.e. missing most of her limbs) so wondered about the baby, walking forward i heard crying and thought "wow this could complicate the whole one man army exsistance a bit..." finaly i looked in the pram to see nothing but a speaker....shit... BOOM! the pram exploded but my quick reflexes ment most of the blast missed me. unfortunitly the following group of raiders didnt and hit me clean in the leg, crippling what was left of it. realising the weight of the situation and that my normal sneak round with a shishkabob wasnt going to work i took out my sniper rifle.
quickly clearing them off with a few clean head shots i opened my pit boy to relise that i had no stem packs with me... gota fast travel i thought
trying to fast travel apprently something was 2 close for me 2.
i couldnt wait to shove one last sniper round through some poor cowardly raiders head.
unforutnitly closing the pit boy showed me something i didnt expect nor want to see...
limping, in need of reloading, and with no where to hide.
i waved hello...to a death claw...
i decided if i was going down i was going down in style, so i took out my shiskabob, let loose a mighty war cry and charged towards the beasty.
after a tense fight of trying to move out of the way in seemingly slow motion i survived, feeling quite manly i prepared to move off.
then that cowardly raider
with a chinese pistol...
shot me in the arm...
and took me out :(

After scavenging the Wasteland and going around sightseeing I managed to get to level 15 so I decided I should at least get to Rivet City by going through the GNR quest.

As I get to the area before the Plaza where generally the Brotherhood and Sentinel Lyons are, I found them all to be M.I.A so I'm stuck alone with the supermutants including two Supermutant overlords.

Suffice to say it went O.K Corral. Victory rifle for the takedown of the masters, plasma rifle and combat shotgun and missile launching on the behemoth.

After the fight, the brotherhood members around the place were saying they saved my sorry ass, I decided to send them all to apocalyptic heaven for being rude ungrateful pricks.

Not a real story but a few funny moments in fallout 3 thouhg. Happened with those "random" moments in the game:

1. When I was with Nova in a room in megaton. I was crouching to pickpocket her. The door opened and Harden Simms gives me the speach about the key and all and left. "Nothing to see here."
2. When I was on the bridge close to Wilhemlm's warf, I tried to defuse the mines, when suddenly, I got the encounter of the kid that needed help with the ants. That made the whole cluster of mines go "boom!"

Yeah, its a bummer about it degrading and the lack of ammo sucks a big one too. I immediately tried it out on a mole rat, then it went in a cupboard at home til I hit Raven Rock. Makes a mockery of that place with a decent energy weapon skill.

Speaking of which, has any else met Uncle Leo the super mutant?
I just googled him. In my 130 or so hours of playing, no, no I haven't.
What the hell?
Usually he wanders about near very high radiation areas. I know theres a place about 20 mins walk from Megaton where I bumped into him (I got curious cos VATS wouldn't auto target him), but I can't remember what its called.

This was ages ago, so I cant really remember the details.

When I found the Outcast HQ, I asked to go in. The Captain guy said no. I waited till it was dark, then pickpocketed him for the key and went in.

I then snook around the base, stealing all the outcasts ammo, and occasionally deeming one for death.

Then I broke into their armoury, took everything, then sold the stuff I didn't want to the captain. Including armour I'd looted from the guards I'd disposed of.

Just reading this thread makes me want to play Fallout 3 now.

Did you talk to the Scientist's in Rivet City, because if you do that first without getting the info about dad from Moriarties computer then Lyons Pride doesn't show until you get access to the Citadel.

And Sentinel Lyons will address you like she's never met you before (because she hasn't)

I had just escaped from the vault and as my pip boy told me i was on my way to megaton, i met sheriff Lucas Simms while in there and learned about the bomb and how to diffuse it but at first i decided to keep looking for my dad, Simms pointed me towards Moriartys so i headed there and met Mr Burke who offered me money to destroy megaton but deciding to be a saint in my first go of the game i refused and went and told Simms, we went to confront him and after Simms turned his back Burke shot him and ran out of the door and escaped to Tenpenny tower i took Simms' overcoat and hat and made my way to Tenpenny tower, as i arrived i payed my way in and entered the building and got into the elevator and arrived on the top floor to see Burke, i entered my VATS and with one single of a sniper rifle to the chest he dropped to the floor and was dead, i walked up to his body and stood over him then dropped Simms' hat on his chest then walked away.

Oh really? I'm pretty sure this happened. I got angry for skipping steps on the main quest (happened once in another playthrough when I got inside the vault inside Casey's garage), and went back to do the GNR one

Yeah if you skip a step Lyons pride don't show up, which means you don't have their firepower and your missing a crucially needed spare Fatman since they break easily.

I had earlier (during the main storyline) killed a super mutant behemoth outside GNR... Which was quite more complicated than it had to be considering the fact that the bastard had broken the nuke-launcher. The fight turned into a surreal stop sign+fire hydrant battle versus combat shotgun and chinese weapons technology.
My second encounter with one of these collossi was during a routine exploration of the wastelands. I stumbled across a raider camp littered with guards and a quite familiar monster locked up in the centre. I thought that, hell... this time I want a fair fight, me versus the world. I took out my trusty sniper rifle ('ve used it about 2 times earlier, it's hell to repair), and took out every guard before they had a chance to fire back. Afterwards I blew up the "cage" that was keeping the behemoth at bay.
Bring it on.
Activated VATS and pulled out a frag grenade, spent all my AP on throwing two grenades towards his torso, thought this'd at least harm him. I was wrong.
The first grenade landed at his feet and blew him a few feet into the air, the second grenade (now off aim as the behemoth was higher oriented along the Y-axis than it should be) exploded at his feet and sent him skywards.
He died on impact when he hit the ground again. Probably the most anti-climatic battle I've ever been in.

My little teary eyed story:

After leaving the Citadel and going through the wasteland on my way to vault 87, I reach Megaton to sleep, I then receive a message from vault 101. They need me to sort out some troubles.

I leave Jericho back at Megaton and leave Dogmeat at the entrance of the Vault, I take a deep breath and I go back home.

After finishing things pretty diplomatic I am shun by my peers and told to never return again and that is when my modded radio station starts playing this:

As everyone waves goodbye and tells me how they'll miss me, I walk head held up high as I watch the vault door close one last time. I reach the surface to watch the sunset of the Wasteland one more time, the long plains extending in front of me like in that first fateful day.

I call for Dogmeat is time to go and advance through the wastes once again.

(probably my favourite fallout 3 moment ever)
