I'm probably a bit of a Zelda fanatic. I can tolerate people not liking it, if it just isn't for them, but when people start bashing it with stupid criticisms like "they're all the same!" I start to get pissed off. Most of these criticisms are simply siphoned off Yahtzee, and, as a result, are patently untrue. I don't know why, but people using stupidly broad criticisms just so they can justify flaming something they probably don't have any experience with gets to me, and this doesn't just apply to Zelda. Honestly, if you want to tell me that Twilight Princess was identical to Wind Waker, or Majora's Mask was identical to Ocarina, then you are either incredibly stupid or a liar, and that's all there is to it.
Other games that get an unfair amount of bashing are Halo and Gears of War, usually by people who go "It's mediocre, but I hate it because the fanboys say it's the best game ever!" That is a lie. I've never met anyone, on the internet or in real life, who proclaims either of those games to be the best game ever, yet people seem intent on calling out these non-existent fanboys as a smokescreen for wanting to have an 'edge', because, as we all know, anything that is popular is only bought by idiots. Of course.
