Well some people have personal demons, like alcoholism....I guess. :D

OT: I like the Denarians from the Dresden Files, though I prefer Lasciel over Anduriel.

Nicodemus Archleone from the Dresden Files.
Nether Nicodemus, nor Anduriel (The Fallen Angel which has possessed him), are demons.

Only two demons have shown up in the entirety of the Dresden-verse (The Demon he bargains with, and the demon that is summoned to kick the shit out of him in book 1). For a magic series that's over 14 books long, that's a shit ton of restraint.
Per wiki, bold mine:
"A demon or daemon is a paranormal, often malevolent being prevalent in religion, occultism, literature, fiction, and folklore. The original Greek word daimon does not carry the negative connotation initially understood by implementation of the Koine äáéìüíéïí (daimonion),[1] and later ascribed to any cognate words sharing the root.

In Ancient Near Eastern religions as well as in the Abrahamic traditions, including ancient and medieval Christian demonology, a demon is considered an unclean spirit, sometimes a fallen angel, the spirit of a deceased human, or a spirit of unknown type which may cause demonic possession, calling for an exorcism. In Western occultism and Renaissance magic, which grew out of an amalgamation of Greco-Roman magic, Jewish demonology, and Christian tradition,[2] a demon is a spiritual entity that may be conjured and controlled."

Basically any kind of malicious supernatural being can be considered a demon.

I would also add Karril, an Iezu from C.S. Friedman's Coldfire trilogy. He was pretty cool.

I thought alcoholism was a psychology game? Less to do with being a drunk and more to do with people reacting to it.

God: torments you for thought-crimes. I was scared of retribution or some shit like that until I figured out that doesn't actually happen. Also to a lesser extent, Creivatsu (I'm not really sure how it's spelled) which is a Romanian wind demon, who, in a story, caught a child who stayed out too late playing in the winter. But really what's the difference.

No this is full on f'd up chemical addiction. It changes your brain chemistry to the point where you can't actually be 'cured'. This is why relapse is so scary for alcoholism.

OT: Sabine from Order of the Stick. Also how broadly are we casting the word "Demon" here, as in can we include 'devils'? If so Asmodeous.

From the perspective of a person from our world, going by Abrams kid's definition, fallen angels are 'sometimes' considered demons.

Harry makes a clear distinction between fallen angels and demons - Fallen Angels are divine beings that, for whatever reason, have been cast a way from God. Most have gone completely bonkers from the process. Demons are 'merely' beings from a hellish domain somewhere in the Nevernever (which is apparently much bigger then the courts of the fairie, which does not encompass the entirety of the Nevernever).

As I type this, I realize this is one giant fan wank (Fighting over peanuts), so I'm going to shut up now and run.

EDIT: Also, I take back what I said before. There's a much better demon.

Just an all around evil dude. Domination is his sphere of influence, and he is the father of vampires in The Elder Scrolls series. His plane of Oblivion, Coldharbour, is a twisted version of Tamriel as it is currently. The sky is fire, and the air is ice. Everything looks like it has just went through war. I'm assuming OP means evil in the context of demons, so I chose Molag, but he's not my favorite Daedric Prince.

Nicodemus Archleone from the Dresden Files.
Nether Nicodemus, nor Anduriel (The Fallen Angel which has possessed him), are demons.

Thought that was the name of the host not the fallen.
But in the same verse what about Chaunzaggoroth? The demon he gets some info from who talks like a gentleman.

Though the outsiders seem more like true demons than anything else in the dresden-verse.
Only two demons have shown up in the entirety of the Dresden-verse (The Demon he bargains with, and the demon that is summoned to kick the shit out of him in book 1). For a magic series that's over 14 books long, that's a shit ton of restraint.

I'm partial to 40K daemons. Aside from the classier spelling, they have a pretty wide selection of them, from the classy Cherubael, to the made Primarch Daemon Princes, to Nurgel.

Who's almost a good guy.
There have been a few more demons than that according to the dresden wiki, like the mold demon and monkey demons but they were short lived.
But after seeing your picture it reminded me of something that should shame all of us.
Considering the number of escapists that want more dungeon keeper how can we forget good ole bile demon?

I always liked Nurgle Daemons as well, but my favourite has to be those known as the Vile Savants.

Basically their appearance is preceded by an outbreak of a Daemonic plague that turns the victims into zombies. Then, once the plague has spread far enough, the Vile Savants themselves are summoned. They take the form of bloated, sagging bio-hazard suits stuffed with bile, pus, ooze and other such nastiness. Their most common weapons are rusted, infected surgical equipment such as scalpels, or firing the pestilential goo from within their suits. Worse still, they can communicate with humans telepathically, filling their mind with a voice that's always backed up by the sound of thousands of flies and insects.

Oh, and here's the best part; they can peel open their suits, both at will and at a 50% chance whenever one is "killed". And when they do this, a horde of insects pours forth from the suit, carrying thousands more diseases to spread over whoever gets in their way.

Samael from Darksiders, just because he was so powerful that he was imprisoned so he wouldn't take over hell and ruin Lucifer's day.

He is also coincidently the only demon I can actually remember from anything, so there's that.

Not an actual demon, but surpasses all other candidates through his demonic intellect and schemes:

Aren't all demons fictional? Anyway, I'd probably go with Hermaeous Mora from The Elder Scrolls. Everything about him is alien and unknowable. Plus it helps to an eldritch monstrosity among vaguely the other humanoid and stereotypically demonic Daedra. Then again, there's also Sheogorath who's batshit insane with a badass alter ego in the form of Jyggalag.

Does Bartimaeus count or not?

Ah, I'll go with him. A snarky demon and not the most powerful but I still like him.
I agree, he was awesome.

Also, I like Demon's Souls' demons... and the old one if it counts as a demon, I'm not sure... sketchy on DeS lore.

Crowley, from Good Omens.

The "angel who did not so much fall as saunter vaguely downwards." Hilarious, snarky, oddly badass, and a character in a collaboration between Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. How can you beat that?

if we can broaden demons to devils Asmodeus (circa 3.5 ed) takes my vot due to being ballsy enough to trick the gods into allowing him to make hell and lure mortals through sin

If not Ill go with either The Fateweaver who is an incredibly powerful Lord of Change, or Doombreed the most powerful Bloodthirster(who may or may not be a demonically ascended version of Ghengis Khan, or Hitler) Woo hooo go 40k demons

Well what I can think of that isn't already said would probably be the Gremory Clan from High School DxD. The idea of using chess pieces to bring humans to life as demons is interesting, and their society always seemed demonic, but not really evil. Plus I always liked classy demons. Hell as a opulent palace where Lucifer sits drinking blood from a wine glass, hellfire torches placed regularly along the walls giving the place a flickering mix of darkness and light, rather than a accursed wasteland where horrible unthinking violent beasts roam. I'm sure theres others, but I have a headache so something fresh on my mind is best.
