FUCK AND YES. My unbridled delight at seeing one of these on a crate in the very room where the game starts in Fallout: New Vegas was just the first of many "this game is awesome" moments.

"9mm Submachine Gun"? My favorite earlygame weapon by far. Because it's clearly an M3.

Definitely the M1 Garand, it's one of the only two period weapons I have ever fired in person (thanks to my uncle, who owns two). And. It. Is. Awesome. A close second would be the Mosin-Nagant, which I own, and its really fun to shoot. And I'd jump at the chance to try out a Mauser and not just the Kar98. Any historic Mauser really.

Well I have a couple guns that I really like from WWII.
One being the Mauser Kar98k. Love that bolt-action rifle.
The PPSH-41 (or as I call it the 'pppssssssshhhh') is a damn good submachine gun at close range.
And of course mention has to be given to the Sturmgewehr 44. One of the first true assualt rifles. Of course Hitler was an idiot and didn't like them...

I've got a massive boner towards old school rifles like the M1 garand, M1903 Springfield, k98 etc.

But as for all time personal fav, it's got to be the M1 garand. There's just something so awesome about it.

I choose the B.A.R., because in a real firefight scenario, I would rather lay down cover fire than flanking the position.

not at less than 300 yards,where the AK maintains it's accuracy, and outside of 300 yards is almost impossible to hit with an M1 because it can't have optics mounted to it. Also inside of 300 yards, the AK47's 7.62x39 has the same kinetic force as the M1's 30-ot-6 or even the M14's 7.62x51 NATO cartridge.

Plus, just about any American WWII or Korean War infantryman would tell you that the rifle has an effective range far greater than 300 yards, and trained soldiers can accurately shoot that far with iron sights or adjustable rear tangent sights for range and elevation, since back in those days they actually trained soldiers to shoot well without any of the fancy "red dots" or "ACOG."

We're not talking about Call of Duty.

I wouldn't say any, granted there are some incredible shooters out there, but for the most part hitting anything outside of 300 yards with just iron sights is near impossible. Secondly, I don't know about the Korean military, but in the United States they do NOT, nor have they ever trained soldiers to shoot outside of 300 yards, unless you are being specially trained as a sniper or a counter-sniper. Finally, the US military still trains soldiers to shoot well without optics on their rifles, long before they even get their own weapon which they then add scopes and red-dot sights to.

Judging by your username, the terminology you used, and the fact that you have shown no sources of your research leads me to call bullshit on this. And by sources, I do not mean werkaperdera, I mean public-domain, government-produced fact sheets and documents. They do exist, but I'm not doing your work for you.

If you like guns, that's fine. But real life and Cawadoody are not the same.
