Just a question. I saw some cards appearing that were white. What are those?
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Synchro_Monster

Basically, Synchro Summons come from the Extra Deck (né Fusion Deck) by sending a Tuner Monster and some non-Tuners to the grave.

For example, if you have a LV 2 tuner and a LV 5 monster on your field, you can summon any LV 7 Synchro from your Extra Deck. The levels have to be exact.

The black luster soldier card that could be special summoned by remove a light and dark monster from your graveyard. I had a japanese one long before it ever came to America, and I utterly destroyed with it.

Man I loved Yu-Gi-oh but to be honest I liked it more before it got ridiculous, you know, that area where pharaoh's servant was still new and a new set coming out was still a big thing. It simply got too saturated with itself and that caused every one of my friends to abandon it. I stayed in the game for quite a while after that, too bad I had no one to play with XD I actually managed to survive up til the white cards came out, then I just gave up, which makes me sad because it still looked interesting... but again, my friends have long since stopped playing.

Man-Eater Bug.

Cause no one fucks with Man-Eater Bug. NO ONE!
This man speaks the truth. Man-Eater Bug is awesome.

Personally, however, my favorite card is the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon. Powerful and awesome looking, but a ***** to summon and power up.

I had a few cards that I loved playing with, but my personal favorite is Celtic Guardian. I really liked the design, and the fact that he was celtic was icing on the cake for me. (I don't know how post a pic so here's the link.)
This card I had. http://www.animecubed.com/yugioh/cards1/SDY-009-1.jpg
This one's cooler.

It's just a monster that says Tuner on it after the Type. So Warrior/Tuner, Spellcaster/Tuner, that sort of thing.

Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. He destroys all monsters that have been special summoned if he is flipped, and prevents either player from summoning more as long as he is face-up.
Considering that the whole game nowadays is all about special summoning strong monsters as fast as possible, this guy can seriously mess with your opponent's plans, no matter the situation.

Fun ideas:
Put him face-down. Let a monster your opponent special summoned attack it. That monster just commited suicide.

Special summon him with Giant Rat or some such. Equip him with "Misty Body." He will be the last monster to get special summoned.

Special summon a super-powered monster, like one of the Sacred Beasts. Normal summon Pachycephalo. Your opponent will now find it almost impossible to bring out something stronger than whatever you just summoned.

Also, Synchro Summons are a type of special summon. Goodbye, Red Dragon Archfiend. It was nice knowing you.
Also, this may or may not be slightly off-topic, but when did Yu-Gi-Oh! cards start having names like "Galaxy eyes Photon Dragon"? I saw that when I was in my local newsagent the other day
Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is just the latest in a long line of 'X'-Eyes 'Y' Dragons.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Red-Eyes Black Dragon
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon
Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon
Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon
Red-Eyes Black Chick
Red-Eyes Meteor Dragon
et cetera. The only difference is that this one is from SPACE!

There was one called the dark hole
"Destroy all cards on the field and remove them from play"
cheap as hell! there's no way they allow that thing in tournies!

edit: come to think of it, I dont think it removed them from play, just sent to them to the graveyard; still cheap as hell!
Dark Hole actually just destroys all monsters on the field, and that includes your own. Helpful in a pinch (and now Limited) but I still don't think it's THAT cheap, unless you're using it in a spell-and-trap only deck or something.
I was never a really hardcore player, but it seemed like that one made it just a little too easy to wipe their field, summon an 1800 atk monster and chew up a hefty chunk of lifepoints.

if theyre sporting some high attack guys or some overly equipped guys that you just can't kill, it just wipes them all.... and you can have 3 of these things in your deck : \

combine that with some other monster killers (man eater bug, etc) and they'll barely be able to keep guys on the field to soak lifepoint damage.

I dunno, seems a little OP, but there's probably plenty of counters I just don't know about.
Dark Hole has always been limited and you were always only allowed 1 in your deck. Unless they took it off the ban list for a bit when I took a break. That if you play by official ban lists playing with friends without ban lists you could have up to 3. Raigeki and Harpie's Feather Duster were always much more OP and have since been banned completely.

Aside from that decks are so ridiculously fast to summon creatures now Dark Hole is more an annoyance rather than a real set back in comparison to what it used to be like. Also add in the bullshit that is Stardust Dragon and well Dark Hole isn't even a factor any more.

OT: I see there is no love for Dark world cards here or anyway but I am going to have to give my favourite to Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World
.

Quite an abusable card as if I discard him I can destroy 1 of your cards and if you discard him I do that and look at one card in your hand if that was a monster I get to summon it. Then when Grapha is in the graveyard I can return one Dark World monster I control to my hand to bring him back from the graveyard. With Gates of the Dark World he then becomes a 3,000 attack point Beater when he is sitting on the field.

While is a ***** when I can bring him out some call this nooby there are very few things in this current format that aren't nooby and abusable in my opinion compared to how the game used to run. Then again Yu gi oh always ran around who had the most abusable deck.

Hmm, guess my old school cards are obsolete then eh? The new yu-gi-oh scene is all about dueling on motor bikes now isn't it? or is that also old now? : \ does the show still run?

Well it really depends on the deck but yes a lot of cards from years ago like Change of Heart, Raigeki, Harpie's Feather and Giant Trunade have all been banned to prevent OTK and abuses but they have brought plenty new ones. The game plays a lot differently than back then when it was almost a necessity to run a few Magic Jammers or other negate cards to prevent a wipe. Now you are better of with Compulsory Evacuation to make it uneconomical for an opponent to XYZ or Synchro summon.

The game plays a lot faster than it used to with much more field swarming and synchro summons which one could be forgiven thinking that they are imbalanced. They have also generally ramped up the effectiveness of monster effects and it is very rare to see a normal type monster in a deck. Unless it is vanilla of course.

Yes motorbikes are now old news and we are onto duelling in Space. I know a lot of that text is probably unnecessary but your cards aren't obsolete just decreased in effectiveness. There are still some old stock card being used eg Swords of Revealing Light, Mirror Force and Mystic Space Typhoons(so fuck you Reliquished summoners. You can't survive if I MST the monster equipped to it).

... I gathered my two old favorite cards.

Gearfried the Iron knight, Gaia the Fierce Knight, and Robotic Knight.
...
Technically thats three, but whatever. XD

More OT and not being anal about something insignificant and not really to the point, my favorite cards are:

<spoiler=Familiar Knight>http://images.wikia.com/yugioh/images/f/fb/FamiliarKnightDPKB-EN-C-1E.png

and

<spoiler=Dark Magician Girl>http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/459892-Shawn%20Yasumara/892/36/dmg1_display.png

Mostly cause both cards have saved me in matches before, and the first is the card I most associate with, the latter the card two of my more... well, two of the girlfriends I've really loved more so than the others and ones I wished I could spend the rest of my life with associated with.

They used to allow Dark Hole in tourneys- limited to one, yes, but you could have it. This was years ago, mind you, I've been out of Yugioh for ages...

Light End Dragon, followed by neo the Magical Swordsman, love both of these cards.
You're the first and only other person I've ever run into with a soft spot for Neo. I actually collected Neo the Magic Swordsman cards back when I played... once word got around, the kids I used to play with rounded up all their friends Neos, knowing I'd trade good stuff for him (it was partially my way of helping get better cards into everyone's decks and leveling things out a bit.) I must have at least a dozen of him somewhere 'round here.[/quote] Neo was awesome, I ran him in a few of my decks a couple of years back, He was the perfect light type monster to sync for Light End.

Dark Hole was unbanned. A bit shocking, I know. And they tweaked Mirror Force and unbanned it too. Raigeki, however is still banned and shall always be.
