I can beat that!

Dr. Neo Cortex and Uka Uka from the Crash Bandicoot series. They're just so cliche that it's funny.

O'Brien from 1984/the Party of Ingsoc. It cant get any worse than this. Even a villain trying to kill everyone is not as terrible.

"The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement. Everything else we shall destroy...everything."

"We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now. There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science."

"There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always- do not forget this, Winston? always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless."

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face- forever."

Others( of course not that awesome)
Most of the races in the Warhammer 40k-Universe(even the friendliest races like the tau or eldar would be considered villains in any other fictional universe, building concentration camps or killing millions of humans to save one of their kind)

Fontaine/Atlas from Bioshock...ah you know what:make it the whole lot, Ryan, Fontaine, Tennebaum, all manipulating me:/...uh! I forgot someone! Sander Cohen, the artist(is that his name?) While the world around him goes to pieces he's still searching for aesthetic perfection...creepy guy.

Uh yes and the combine. Exploiting the whole planet, assimilating species into their army after harvesting their bodies for useful stuff and filling the holes with cybernetic implants(why needing a full brain when you can have half a brain, lotta microchips(making you a remote-controlled tool) and a funky mask?
From that perspective I've always felt miserable killing striders and gunboats(its like killing an elefant with microchips in his brain and a lasergun mounted on his head...it can't do anything against it, its just a running carcas...thinking about it I think I shouldnt.

Frank Booth from "Blue Velvet". He's uttely repulsive, but hypnotic when he's on screen. Hey, Kyle MacLachlan! That's what acting should be!

Every form of media has them, games, films, TV, the villains that are so likeable that they could eat a puppy and you'd still like them, so here's my favourite ones.
Agent Smith - The Matrix Trilogy
Spike - Buffy The Vampire Slayer
King Bohan - Heavenly Sword
The Clockwork Guy (Hellboy) - simply the most horrible character.
Galactus (Marvel) see Avatar - strictly he's ambivalent but I consider him a villian he does eat worlds.
Pyramid Head (Silent HIll 2)
The Great Cthulu - come on he's a legend

Every version of The Joker there ever was. Also, Darth Nihilous, and the Smoker from L4D.
Agreed on Darth Nihilus, although I prefer Sion (I have his first scene where you hear him talk memorized). [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLh30eOZEYU] Also, why the Smoker? I prefer Hunters (here's something to do next time you're playing L4D: as a hunter, charge a pounce, and jump straight up. It's fun, I did it with a friend on splitscreen and we were cracking up)
Actually, the Hunter was my second choice, but there's just something hilarious about grabbing someone and dragging them towards a Witch or Boomer and leaving them hanging there, you know?

I don't think G-man is a villain.. Anyhow in video games the best villain's for me must be SHODAN, the robot from Portal (Glados?), and The Master. Shodan is just so sick and twisted and her voice.. err.. The portal bot was one of the funniest villains i've ever seen. I mean come on. What kind of villain bakes cakes and uses them as traps :D Master was awesome, so ugly and disgusting I love it. His dialog was the best!

Ridley - appears in nearly every Metroid game - only to die again. But who cares, that dragon monster is just too awesome !

Scar - he killed Mufasa :(

Black Shadow - because he died through the most epic Falcon Punsh ever

Two Face - I love tragic villians as much as tragic heroes. Always liked 2F´s "lets spin the coin to decide" thing. The whole split personality concept is really well done. Sadly, his CGI-Face was REALLY DISTURBING in Dark Knight :-X (atlast he didt suck as much as in Batman Forever)

Clichee evil SS-Leader in black leather trenchcoat (movie, comic oder game... not important) - Jawohl !

Dito. But less in a comical sense, more the demonic ones balancing between barbarity and classical education like the one in schindler's list playing Bach on the piano while the SS-Divisions around him are causing a massacre. Makes me feel sick.

The Protagonist-Bioshock. He has a magical hand that shoots bees.
Brilliant, please remember everyone that only applies to "magical" hands that shoots bees.

doesn't apply to "The Pain" from MGS3, oh no, hell no, never... NO!

Probably yourself in Dungeon Kepper 2.

I've yet to find anyone more awesome than you being evil yourself.

Except maybe GLADOS from portal but it's a close run thing!

For me 100% without a doubt a guy who played a minor villain but since I'm talking about a zombie movie any villain can be major. Anyways my favorite villain is machete from dawn of the dead (if this thread is only about video game villains then sorry.)

I would agree with that and add Norman Stansfield from 'Leon'. A completely repulsive man, but somehow you cannot take your eyes off him. Also for the same reason I would add Daniel Day Lewis' character from 'There Will be Blood'.

Game characters wise Gannondorf, as there is just something appealing about him since WW made him a tragic character who is probably quite insane. In the same series Zant, as their is something...Jokerish about him as if he doesn't quite know there are limits.

Alber Wesker has to be another fav, especially in Code veronica where he quite easily steals any scene he is in. Both him and Alexia, though not really being in the game more than half an hour combined, they steal it away quite successfully.

As for John Simms Master, well he was the only one to ever out doctor the doctor.

For some reason, Kreia appealed to me alot more than either Sion and Nihilus did. Her manipulation and cunning made her a much more interesting character for me. Although I totally get how much more ostensibly villanous the other two are.
I like Kreia too, actually. That scene with her on Dantooine still gives me chills. "Step away from him! Step away! He brings you truth and you condemn it!? The arrogance!"
