my first tabletop rpgs was a game called Rifts...i was 16 and this guy i knew in high school, well told me i wasnt smart enough to play the game. of course im still DM Rifts and he is currently doing "time". ....my first rpg in a game console was chrono trigger, i wasn't sure about this game cause the art work remind me of dragon ball, and dragon ball was somewhat popular in the states at that time. but what sold me was a red hair kid with a sword and a blond girl caster and what look like a frog in travel gear fighting a demon ape....i wasnt able to play any rpgs when i was younger..my folks at the time were overly cautious about such things

My FAVORITE one, however, is Grandia!

Probably Super Mario RPG, without being too sure of what an RPG actually was. This was followed by the Pokemon Craze that begun not too long after.

FF IX is the first RPG that completely had its grasp on me though, love that game.

I know Hexen 2 doesnt count...It was Baldurs Gate, i had a mega drive and a saturn but never had any console rpgs. played them all later on emulators and some borrowed consoles.

I would have one on my team, and I love the Pokemon itself, but he's only semi-decent stat-wise. I can't seem to settle for anything less than the best, what with all those damn Garchomps and Skarmories out there.

Like I'd use him online. Nah. He's my Ice type for the Elite Four. And other Dragons.

Ah, that's good then. Lance goes down really easy with a single Ice move.

Also, I know I'm a bit late, but congrats on 10000 posts! Did you do a special review or something?

Talisman, it's actually a board game, the main board cost about 30GBP, and then you could get "expansion boards" which extend the game. The final confrontation with the dragon normally is just 5 cards, each describing an obstacle you had to overcome, but with the dragon's tower expansion, a tower constructed out of strong card is placed into the centre of the board, and the character now moves through the tower towards the dragon. I played that game when I was 8. Each expansion cost approximately 20GBP.
