So yesterday, I was playing through Wind Waker HD. This was my very first playthrough of the game, so I didn't really know what to expect in terms of puzzles.
So I just entered the Forbidden Woods and found myself wandering around the first room for a good five minutes trying to figure out what to do. I figured the green vines that were hanging from the trees were connected to the eyeball on the door, so I was trying to figure out how to cut them down.
Eventually, I was running around carrying the giant walnut, wondering what to do with it, and without thinking, threw it at the door, which killed the eyeball and opened the door.
I just stared at the screen for a while and then facepalmed. Sometimes, the simplest solution is often the best one.
So anyway, what about you guys? Ever found yourself stuck on a relatively simple puzzle, went about it the wrong way for a while and realized how dumb you were being when you finally solved it?
I like to call it, the DSP effect.
