Oh I know my mom (and my dad, and my family in general) know and watch my FB, mainly cause I started swearing on it and when I got home from university one weekend they started telling me how I shouldnt swear on facebook.

Doesnt mean i changed it. Just meant I started using much more vulgar language. besides, now that they know, I cant just iunfriend them without having the third degree brought down on me.

Anyone who puts truly stupid stuff on Facebook is asking for trouble. If it's not good enough for your parents to see, you're probably going to regret posting it in the future..

What was that? you thought no-one could see it? You thought it wouldn't be searchable in 5 years time?

Think again. If knowing your parents can see it helps to curb some of the more idiotic forms of expression then you're probably better off.

It's a database!
It's going to be around, data-mined and searchable for a long long time.
Be careful what you post on Facebook generally.

My mom has no idea how to use a computer so it's only my Dad who watches me post. Thankfully, I use Facebook sparingly and always write in an inoffensive way. That and I don't post anything on it while inebriated.

Yes, but pretty much anyone's truly free actions change when they know someone is watching.
Example: taking a dump or a shower, would be weird to have your parents watch that and I would shit in a way I never shat before.

OT, if my parents would take a look at my internetbehaviour, let's just say their curiosity would be sated forever.

Why should I care what my parents see on facebook? I've added them as friends and if there's something that I don't want them knowing about, I'll either not tell anyone or make sure they don't see it. Not everything is public.

Gah, now the captcha makes me look at IE9 ads too? I'm happy with Chrome and Firefox, thanks.

Nope. While my parents and I do have facebooks, we never use them.
Well, at least my mom and I don't use them.
And I wouldn't consider my online habits anything that my mom would disapprove of.

I would be embarrassed if she read my facebook... I would also be happy if she took any interest in my life :'(

Also, it's deviantArt...

I'm 23 and have been on my own for five years now. I have a great relationship with my entire family, yet I still don't want them to go through all the drunken pictures of my on facebook and read all the wall posts from friends about "last night".

That's just awkward for everyone. I'm glad I left facebook (nothing against it. I'm not trying to be an edgy anti-facebook guy. I just got sick of being on there and had little compelling reasons to stay) before my mom joined it.

Barring my cousins, I would never friend any of my family on facebook. Embarrassing pictures are already bad enough in real life, never mind online.

I don't even have a facebook and I've no intentions of making an account, so I think I'm pretty safe.

Considering the parents I have, I'm not worried. (Dad walks in on both my brothers watching hardcore porn on cable with friends, asks them if they're enjoying themselves and walks off again)

Considering I've used my facebook account exactly once which was a few years ago, I'm even less worried.

My dad is on facebook, but he doesn't check it that often and generally, he's a pretty liberal guy. None of my drinking-related adventures would bother him.

And besides, even if they did, I know plenty of stories about him when he was younger (throwing up in his shoes being the best) so he wouldn't have a leg to stand on, ha.

My mom is on it all the time now, but it doesn't really bother me. I don't upload a whole lot of stuff and rarely change my status to anything remotely objectionable. All in all, it's worked out really well.

One of the major ways I stay in contact with her actually.
