Doing a 1% run and beating a boss finally on my fiftieth try only to be killed by the core X and its lazy chase algorithm.
Whats a 1% run?

On topic . Biggest is playing SMT: nocturne hard mode . This is a brutal dungeoncrawler . Now when you are 5 steps away from a save point , only to get a random encounter , and the opponent back atracks you and ONLY attacks the hero ( when the maincharacter dies it is game over no matter what) and kills you in one turn . This happens quite often too , always makez me rage . I did manage to beat the game on har eventually , but it was not easy at all.
I'm sorry, but you are not allowed to complain about the difficulty of an Atlus game on hard mode. While I'm largely use to the level of challenge, that's because a long line of 'em has desensitized me and I'm aware that for many others these games are tough as nails. That said, Nocturne is even harder than all the Persona games and you willingly exposed yourself to the harder difficulty on purpose? C'mon... You KNOW you're going to die alot.
Haha , what you say is very true . I played hard mode because i wanted a challenge . I just largely underestimated how hard it was going to be . I did just get a challenge , i got one of the hardest challenges i have every had with a jrpg . I only half knew what i was getting in to , i didn't knoe it was going to be THAT hard . That being said , the american games hard mode is japanese normal . These japanese are hardcore ... Seriously .

That being said , i have an unplayed copy of devil digital saga 1 and 2 . I can't fucking wait to play those on hard . Might even try hard mode on my first playthrough .

F-Zero GX Story Mode Chapter 7 on normal. The mission itself lasts about five minutes, but it took me two hours to beat it! I stopped playing Story Mode after that. I think F-Zero GX is one of the best racing games ever, but its Story Mode is a steaming pile of fake difficulty. I hope the next F-Zero has a fair Story Mode.

Well, it's not my biggest, but I was playing Mario Tennis a few months ago, against Bowser. I forgot how much fun the game was, and I had gone through to the finals of the last tournament. But I forgot that Bowser is a fucking cheating whore, and after being aced 12 times in a row (that's three games straight), I raged and hit the couch with an open hand. Unfortunately, just where my thumb hit, there happened to be a remote control, and after all this time it still feels slightly fractured.

FF1, all of my party was down save the fighter, who was at close to full health. Was making my way out of the dungeon to get everybody healed up. Was slow going because of the random encounters, but whatever--Fighter was a friggin tank, he could handle a few points of damage here and there...until he got paralyzed. Nothing like watching your last surviving character get slowly killed, 2hp at a time.

I also have an undying hatred of nymphs in Nethack do to several deaths caused by being robbed of everything I owned, but then it IS Nethack, so rage moments are to be expected.

I would say mine was with Final Fantasy X, and the lightning-dodging minigame. I got to 196 consecutive dodges then got hit. Nearly ten years later and I've never once again tried.

To clarify, you need 200 consecutive dodges in order to win the valuable item that comes from playing the minigame.
That took me forever. It was freaking ridiculous. Thankfully, I never had an experience quite that annoying, but the whole process sucked. Worth it to break the damage limit for Lulu, though.

OT: Rogue Galaxy. Very enjoyable game, but the last boss consists of two stages, followed by eight separate battles, each fought with one of the eight player characters. So at that point, since you only have one character, you can't allow him to die or it's game over and you need to start all the way at the beginning of what is essentially a ten-stage boss battle.

...And? Did you not save before fighting the gym leader? You always save before important battles. Besides, don't you just respawn at the nearest Pokemon Center? It's not like you're really penalized for losing in the Pokemon games other than not getting back whatever items you used in the last battle.

Anywayt, OT:

My DS and Gameboys all do have plenty of bite marks from my rage at some of the games I played. The World Ends With You is the most recent for my DS a few years back, at one point it made me so pissed off that I actually broke the end of the stylus on the screen in a frothing rage as I struck the screen so hard to use my pins.

SSBB is a good example of how unbalanced a match can be. Someone chose Sonic, I decided to choose R.O.B. for the hell of it. Sonic Final Smash-Super Sonic easily controlled as he flies around the screen and smashes the shit out of your character. R.O.B's Final Smash-Some wierd little electrical discharage out of his face that is basically the same as picking up a Curry item. I was extremely displeased when my Final Smash, THUSLY NAMED BECAUSE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE FINAL MOVE YOU NEED TO KILL SOMEONE, ended up being my final attack...because Sonic just jumped over my head, grabbed me and whipped me out of the arena.

Red dead rdemption..there is a bit where you have to run into a bank where a rober/hostage situation is taking place

now you know that thing you get occasionallly, where if its really bright outside then its dark when you go inside, so your eyes have to adjust

that was heppening in the game..except it was so bad I coulndt see a thing I kept dying, this actually had me yelling at the TV

WHO THE FUCK DESIGNED THIS??? I CAN'T SEE...I CAN'T SEE A FUCKING THING!!!! I CANT SEE A MOTHERFUCKING COCKSUCKING THING!! AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

yeah, good thing no one was around then

Playing Dragon Age 2 this winter break.

Just about beat Legacy on Nightmare.
Game crashes to desktop when I had him at like....5 seconds to go.
Not a single party member had dropped the whole fight.

Leading me to simply go:

To tackle one of the trickier boss fights only to get tripped by HARDWARE?
LAPTOP YOU FOILED ME BEFORE MY MOMENT OF GLORY DAMN YOU!

Playing some Battlefield Bad Company 2 on Rush, and this is what my team was.

11 Assaults

1 Medic (Me)

And it stayed that way FOR THE WHOLE FUCKING ROUND

Words cannot describe how rage inducing it was to have to be keeping my WHOLE TEAM ALIVE BY MYSELF.

Ok people, this is a thread where we talk about our biggest video game fits.

So say your story/s, list the game you were raging about and what reason.

I'll start
One time when I was playing Pokemon Black (Also the reason I did this thread in the first place), I was facing a Gym leader, I was down to my last chance Pokemon which had low health, but the Gym leader was also on his last Pokemon on lower health then mine. My Pokemon had quick claw which allows him to attack first, I attack, but the Gym leader uses ANOTHER hyper potion and healths the same Pokemon to full health, I attack, a bit of his health came off. Next turn I attack, BUT the damn quick claw doesn't work and he attacks, which kills me. I quickly turn off the game and scream at it.

Game: Pokemon Black
Reason of Rage: Leader had a load of potions and had the lead attack which he shouldn't had.
Quick claw only gives you a chance to attack first, it's not a sure fire thing

OT: Losing to any trash enemy, that never makes you feel good, especially when you forget to save

Black Ops on that STUPID part where you're of top of the tank. As a veteran player, That part was HELL.

That or half of the World at War campaign where the enemy spawns grenades in my pocket. Or when I cleared out a little bunker in the side of a hill, waited for my blood to stop runnning, stepped out and got shot by a guy that spawned behind me. IN THE BUNKER I CLEARED OUT.

Far Cry 1. I would like to know who designed the vehicle physics and controls. There is no excuse for such bad controls.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The chemical plant. You all know what I mean.

DOA 4: I used to rage real bad against Alpha 152. Then I discovered super high attacks.

Mario Kart Wii: I prefer games to be based on skill, not blind luck.

Really funny you mention that since I would consider that my runner-up rage moment, after two hours of fighting that boss. Only now am I playing through that one again.
