And I'm sorry, but until there is definite and irrefutable evidence that this god person exists, they ARE a fictional character.

Haha, I think this answer is the most true. I was trying to come up with one myself, but now I think I'll just say I agree with you. God as he is portrayed in literature was an awful being. I suppose he thought we were just his toys since he created us.

OT: Also Galbatorix from the Inheritance Cycle comes to mind. I just did not enjoy this villain, he was barely in it and he was very uninteresting to me.

Also he was supposed to be this invincible god-like character and Eragon defeats him in the end with nothing but a creative spell that Galborix happened to not think of ever having to defend from. I have never really liked over powered characters in stories, this might be the reason I am not one for magic type characters.

Not saying I didn't like Inheritance, I just prefered the Ra'zac over the King. I certainly didn't HATE Galbatorix, he had some interesting parts near the end. I guess his mystery and evil presence is what was supposed to make him interesting. I look forward to Christopher Paolini's next book.

How dare you! I love Susan during the last 2 season her story did get pretty bad, but she was still a great character. The most annoying is desperate housewives is probably Orson

I know the whole point behind her is to be annoying, but that is really all there is to her. That whole fucking show is like the British sitcom Keeping Up Appearances. Also a show where everyone pussy foots around this one annoying character, instead of ***** slapping her and telling her to shut the hell up.

***** slapping someone who is capable of re-writing the whole of reality seems like a *BAD*
idea. Especially given that she can re-write reality so that nobody/nothing *exists* anymore. Plus the fact that characters around her (Nagato in particular)were almost certainly working in subtle ways to keep anyone from doing so,
for obvious reasons.

I also hate River Song, of Doctor Who. Part of that's due to the problematic writing surrounding her and her backstory and part of it is because of her (also horrifically selfish) actions and reasoning in the sixth series finale.

Yes! I completely agree. I thought her character was somewhat intriguing in "The Library" episode during Tenant's tenure.. But the more exposition she gets, the more annoying she becomes.

And while we're at it...I really can't River Tam from "Firefly". The whole idiot savant/human weapon thing just didn't work for me. So strong was my dislike that it took me years to disassociate her from Summer Glau (the actress who played her who actually seems like a cool person).

Maybe I just a problem with characters named "River"...

As bad as Galby was Murtagh was worse. His entire character basicaly boils down to 'My Dad was mean to me and everyone likes my Brother better so I am going to smash up everyone I see'. Plus CP himself said that he changed his mind about the ending and what happened to some of the characters and originaly he was going to kill Murtagh as it was made clear in Eldest that while he was under Galbys control, he liked killing people because it made him feel big.

I also hate how everyone seems to be cool with letting him get away at the end. He killed so many people to save his own skin and he killed the Dwarf King because he wanted to not because he was told to.

And even more perplexing is that he is a fan favorite. The guy is a selfish, whineing, self pitying douche.

I'm not sure if we were supposed to hate her or not, but....I was forced to watch Gone With the Wind
a couple of years ago, and I spent the entire second half of the movie looking at Scarlet O'Hara and
thinking "So Sherman burned all those towns and this slunt couldn't manage to die in a fire?".

Think of it as a hugely immersive open-world game with deep characters (original Avatar) getting turned into a fast-paced linear corridor shooter with shallow characters and an absolute twat of a protagonist who begs for every reason to be hated.

Oh and with a plot that got literally bum-fucked (no lubrication) in the last 15 minutes.

...sigh.

At least the villain was amazing and had lots of presence through the show.

Meg from Burst Angel: I generally find it very difficult to seriously dislike/hate a character. I pretty much always try to find at least something I like about them (I don't really understand all the hate for Yukari from P3 unless we're talking about the answer, she was kind of a ***** there.), but Meg, oh Meg.
She was completely and utterly useless, yet acted like she was the big-shit, and she got kidnapped pretty much every fucking arc, and then

*tries to get Jo to betray everyone else and run away with her because fuck everyone else I guess.

. I mean seriously, the youngest girl of the three is a tech wizard/demi-god, Jo the oldest is a fucking 1-man army, and Meg is... Recon I guess? And like was mentioned before, she can't even do that properly and has to get saved every fucking arc. There are limits to how selfish and stupid and self-important a person can be before you just want to cut all ties with them and dump them on the nearest deserted island.
Meg is probably the only character that I can say that I hate, but I still wouldn't say I quite hate her, but I do dislike her quite a fair bit.
Also, most generic gossipy girls in a slice-of-life anime who's main purpose seems to be to make some girls life a living hell and wants to drive her to suicide.
Also, Kirino from Oreimo for reasons already mentioned.

I think sonic team INTENTIONALLY made her annoying. But while Gearbox did it with Claptrap and he was endeering and hysterical, she is unbearable.

Claptrap? Endearing? Don't know about you, but I was certainly annoyed by him.

Most hated? Dante from DmC (the new one). It's not out yet, but he just flat out annoys the shit out of me. Chip from Sonic Unleashed was really bad. I hated Lily and Larry from The Walking Dead. Any one who isn't Waluigi in the Mario series (joking, but I do enjoy Waluigi). Xianghua from Soul Calibur II (and essentially the rest of them).

That's really all I've got right now. I want to add Raiden from MGS, but I don't really hate him, as much as I just like Snake better.

Given i never watched the new avatar series, and have heard some...mixed things about it, do you mind explaining a bit? If you have to use a spoiler tag that's fine but I'm a bit curious about just what the hell happened.

If you mean a character we're supposed to hate (because they are written as an asshole), then it would be Delores Umbridge. Whilst I'm hardly a fan of the later Harry Potter books, I give Rowling full credit for being able to write one of the biggest and most aggravating bastards in fiction.

As for a character I hate because they were just poorly written and fuck the story up, I'd go with the Tenth Doctor. I'm not a fan of Tennant's "acting", and I don't know how any fan of that bloody show is able to take his dramatic gurning seriously. He's very distracting during what are supposed to be serious moments, and his constant kooky chirping during the supposed comedy moments are just way too OTT. In short, he's like one of those self-obsessed teenagers who describe themselves as "a bit mad!".

I too would like an explanation as to why she falls victim to your hate. I know the character and have seen the first season, and I would just like to know your take on her (which is apparently negative).

OT: Oerba Dia Vanille (that's right, you're getting the government name on this one, Escapists).

The second I heard her voice, I was instantly infuriated with her. What is the deal with the English accents for clearly Asian characters in English dubs of NA/EU media? Seriously, I want to know.

Anyway, aside from her voice annoying the ever loving crap out of me, I don't like her character in general. She wants to run away from her responsibilities and keep everyone in the dark about who she really is. She is probably the only character that doesn't go through any development other than "act my own age," which doesn't serve much in the story as Fang is pretty much in the same boat as Vanille, only that Fang is far more awesome in general.

And I know that the FF franchise doesn't always produce the most awesome, interesting, unique, and inspiring characters, and FF13 was not favored by many, but Vanille just didn't belong in this game. Would it have matter if she was never in the game? Probably not; but I would've appreciated it.

He is just such a fucking twat. He calls Inara a whore all the time, yet he has the nerve to get upset and depressed when she calls him the inexcusable term "petty thief".

He gets angry at Simon when he tries to bring his sister on board Serenity for the first time because "it endangered the crew" even though he was willing to try and provide transportation to him while smuggling illegal goods, not really caring if HE endangered HIM.

Also let's not forgot him telling Simon that he wouldn't leave without him before proceeding to do just that when he gets kidnapped, and I don't care if Book was injured, their doctor got kidnapped and instead of going after Simon so that he could, you know, treat her, he decided to just take off and...what was the brilliant Captain's plan again? Oh that's right, he didn't have one, just run up to an Alliance medical station without knowing that Book was an ex-operative and had the papers that would allow them to get in.

And I wish he would make up his fucking mind on what he considers everyone else because from episode to episode he bops from considering them "guests on his ship" to "his crew" depending on if he's supposed to be having an emotional moment with them or yelling at them (which in hindsight he does a LOT). Heck, I almost lost it when the rest of the crew went after him, one of them saying "He'd do the same for us," because the only time I remember him going to save one of them is the aforementioned Simon moment, and he took his sweet fucking time with that one, deciding to wait till the last fucking second and then magically knowing EXACTLY WHERE SIMON WAS SOMEHOW. If he knew where he was, how come he didn't get him when Book was hurt and needed a doctor?

Also in the movie he royally blows up at Simon for never telling him that River was unstable, despite the fact that in the last episode of the series she was playing around with a LOADED GUN. And while I'm talking about it he really pissed me off in the movie, it felt like he was just walking around looking for different people to shout at for half of it but the moment when he more or less said to the crew "do everything I tell you to do, desecrate some corpses, do things in half the time it should realistically take and if you complain I'll shoot you," is where I realized that I had grown to truly fucking hate him. And let's not forget "Either come with me to the heart of Reaver territory or get off here...on a dead planet in a bombed out settlement." Oh and why did he want to go to Miranda? Did he know that he would find a deep dark Alliance secret? NO! He just wanted to "get some closure." FUCK! HIM! He is a complete and utter asshole, Christ, I liked JAYNE more than I liked him, mainly because yeah Jayne was an asshole, but he and everyone around him didn't pretend that he wasn't.
