Beyond Good & Evil PC.

I thought that my 2010 non-gaming PC could run a half-decade old PS2 game.

I WAS WRONG. That was one hell of a graphic upgrade for PC.

>_>

It runs like ass.

Mass Effect: Never got further than 60 minutes in. Too much faffing around, not enough combat.
It took more then a few trys for me to get past the first hour. After that however the game is crazy good.

Halo Reach, Dead Rising 2 and Operation Flashpoint.
i played DR2 most of the three for about an hour, after dieing for the 5th time and respawning 10 minutes away i realised it wasn't fun so i quit.
i played Halo Reach a bit less, 20 minutes to be precise. i got about halfway through the first mission before realising i didn't care about anything, and since then i played H.O.R.S.E with a friend but that's it.

but the award goes to operation flashpoint, where i got insta killed 10 times without knowing where anyone was, then when i did get past that part i was shot in the leg, so i had to hobble the 1KM to the LZ, before getting insta killed. i played it for about 10 minutes.

Muramasa Demon Blade. Damn that game is boring. Too easy on easy, just annoying on hard. It has tons of backtracking like a Metroidvania without any of the sense of adventure.

A lot of Game Boy games, to be honest. This was before the internet and I had a habit of making GameBoy game purchases on impulse while actually thinking about things like the games for my SNES- talking to friends and whatnot. Same thing goes for GBA titles.

Ever since then since games are getting more expensive, not to mention the general fact that I could be using my money for other things what with food, Uni and my car and all. Now I really put some more research into potential purchases, and it really is the perfect era for that- thanks internet!

Normally, I'd go with Red Faction 1&2, but they came with the Steam THQ Mega Pack, so what do i really have to complain about.

The worst game i bought was APOX, an ambitious and immensely flawed RTS based in a Fallout-esque setting with so many controls and such a need for constant micromanagement that it ceases to be fun after the first few mechanics are intoduced. In hindsight, i should have used the ten dollars i spent on it to buy the genuine Fallout experience that is Fallout New Vegas: Dead Money.

Shadowrun. I seriously dislike games with no story mode. Atleast MMO's have SOME reasoning behind them.

Also, the cross-platform with xbox and PC just failed so hard.

Lord of the Rings:Conquest.........You'd think, that with the Star Wars battlefront formula being so good that hey! Lord of the Rings could work just as well too. THEY WERE FUCKING WRONG. To this day, I blame it for the going under of Pandemic(even if it probably wasn't the main reason). So much potential. *sobs quietly in a corner*

Dead Space comes to mind. I was bored 2 hours in and never bothered to finish it, and bought it on release week. Dragon Age was another offender, it was just too boring for me to play through, and I kept going in like 30 minute sessions until I gave up. Which is funny because I played DA2 in sick 5-6 hours sessions because I loved it so much.

I also have a most regretted into getting back to it and regretting stopping in the first place. When I bought Fallout 3 I spent around 3 hours wandering aimlessly and finally decided it wasn't worth my time. One or two months later I decided to give it another chance and nowadays it sits comfortably on my top 5 games of all time lists, and also top 5 most hours spent on game.

There are way too many games I regret buying, but Dead Space was probably the worst offender because I bought it on release week.

I got all excited about Dragon Age: Origins (PC) and laid down about 40 quid for the game and DLC. Unfortunately for me I found managing the characters ultra-fiddly and gave up on the game about six hours in. Might give it another go one day.

Just Cause 2.

What I was expecting: "OMG THIS GAME IS AMAZING! THE WORLD IS HUGE AND I CAN HOOK PEOPLE ONTO PLANES LMFAO!"

What I got: "Hey guys, let's have the worst voice acting ever put into a massive world with barely anything to kill and a shop system that's absolutely terrible."
Seconded. The graphics are gorgeous but after a while it all gets very samey. I'd still play it - I just don't think it deserves the plaudits it's received.

EASY! Though it's a toss up. Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy XIV. FAIL games in my opinion.

New Vegas for the PC, I played it for a weak before it locked me out. I have not been able to get it back up ever since.

Other than that I have gamefly to thank for helping me pick and choose what to buy on the console ^_^

Fable III.

Let me restate: Never again, Molyneux. Never...again.
I'll actually second this, and I'm a pretty big Fable fan. Fable III just seemed...empty. Could've easily been a rental instead.

Godzilla Destroy All Monsters or something like that. I was looking for a mindless beat em up style game and it looked fun. Well it certainly got the mindless part right but missed the fun.

I think the most recent game purchase I regretted was Killzone 3. Just not a great game for someone who generally dislikes multiplayer games like this. Shoulda rented it instead. My all time worst purchase for the PS3 would most likely go to FFX XIII, the story sucked enough donkey balls that I just couldn't play it even though it looked great.
