My name is Robert. I prefer Robert but most people call me Rob.

My name is not Bob. I don't dislike the name Bob and I know several others who are "Bob". However it is not my name. No one in my family or friends call me Bob and never have. I really have no history of being referred to as Bob.

I can't count the times I meet someone and the conversation goes...

"Hi. I'm Robert. Nice to meet you."
"I'm Joe. Nice to meet you too, Bob."
"No it's Robert or Rob"
"O sorry. It's the same name, right?"

I have never understood why after I told you my name, you decide that I really, really like to be called a completely different version of that name. Pisses me off!

No I am not a girl.

Ashley is manly name for manly men, just ask my good friend Mr. Williams.

Boomstick indeed, Mr. Williams.

Boomstick indeed.
If it makes you feel any better I thought Vault101 was a guy for much longer than I thought you where a girl.

I'm curious, where did your username Eddie the head come from?
I am just going to say that it's an example of most people won't get, but the right people will. Oh, and it's completely unoriginal and lifted it form somewhere else entirely, and I was also surprised it was available.
Up the Irons eh?

I was crazy not to Choose your name.

I can't believe it, Jesse "The Body" Ventura! You are my favorite governor of Minnesota, conspiracy theorist, and LIZARD PERSON! I see through your lies, you reptilian scum! I refuse your scaled grip on this Earth! BE GONE!
OT:I like my name; it was my very first birthday present, and I'm not one to insult gifts. As for nicknames, I'd been called "Beans" or "Bear" in different company. I've always liked the latter much more, as the former was a friend's comment on my earlier weight and resemblance to the character "Beans".

Kelly Patricia Jones. I resent my mother for giving the name of a tall, blonde valley girl to a short, brunette nerd. Kelly Jones feels extremely hollow, so I try to add my middle name whenever possible to make it less generic.

Of course, I'm going to name my children Garrett and/or Viktoria, so my children are going to grow up hating me for naming them after video game characters.

My name is Rudolf Stassen. You can only imagine how many times I was teased for it. All the other children always sang "Rudolf the red nose reindeer" whenever they saw me.

Aletta. My parents named me after Aletta Jacobs, the first female physician and a Dutch feminist. I don't really like or hate it. It could've been worse I suppose.

Well my name's Henry Oliver Samuel Baldry but I didn't know I was called Henry until I was nine, up until then everyone called me Oliver, even family. And then in year 8 due to there being a lot of Oliver's my friends decided to call me Baldry and that names just stuck and I love it. My other names are nice but I love Baldry.

My whole name is Ryan Kane McGuire. I'm pretty happy with it, but I do wonder what could have been. My dad wanted me to be Kane McGuire, which is a rad name because it sounds like a Top Gun pilot, but my mum didn't like it, so it became my middle name.

Ah... what could have been...

Well, it would have been kinda ironic, considering I am a blond, Southern American on the large side.

Alexis. I like my name, I think there's a lot that can be done with it as far as nicknames go. My baby brother calls me Lexi and I can also go with Alex or Lex if I want something more gender neutral (not into girly names).

I also love that it means "defender of the people" or "defender of man". Makes me feel like a badass.

I was called Graham Cracker a lot in elementary school. That shit drove me crazy. Looking back... not so bad.

My name is Cody. Somehow, it has the ability to be uncommon and completely generic at the same time and doesn't really fit me at all. Example - A Google search for famous Codys shows that they are mostly athletes. I like participating in sports occasionally, but I would never describe myself as "athletic". Only about 5% of the famous Codys I found were associated with the arts.

Also, because my parents felt like punishing their kids with their given names, my only brother is named "Corey". People calling me "Corey" has happened to me so much in my life that I don't even think to correct people anymore when they make the mistake...which happens constantly (even amongst those who don't know my brother).

Finally, I've only met like three people named Cody and it's been a really strange assortment of people. One is a member of my fraternity. He's the only other person in my social circle that, like myself, has lived in Beijing. Another was a female stripper, which is really weird when friends start talking about "Cody on Cody" action. Finally, a female classmate who shared the exact same name as me (both first and last). While not interested in her, I couldn't help but laugh at how awesome wedding invitations would look.

Not a fan. I kind of want to change my name to "Danger" or something equally idiotic. A stupid sounding name would suit my goofy sense of humor just fine.

Actual given name is derived from an old Hebrew name. The original bugger, according to the myths got renamed.
However when I am not referring to myself as a drifter of some variety then before you stands one Jack Learza. The first name being a nick of a very infamous London resident, the last is a rather easy play on letters of the original.
Lets see how good are your trivia skills, should not be too hard given the hints.

My name is Derek.
I'm glad my name doesn't seam very common because on the rare occurrence I share my name with someone else in a conversation, especially in a game using ventrilo it is a nightmare coordinating movement, formation and anything if some one says "Derek go in" or "Derek ult!" I'll end up wasting resources or think the command was issued to the other Derek. Only meet 2 other Dereks' so it hasn't been a problem. You'd also think with gamer tags it would't be a problem but I very much prefer the casual and personal first name communication with any one I meet or play with male or female. Its not your fault other Dereks' its both ours.

Many of you have interesting names and even the "boring" ones as people point out aren't as common around here as you'd think. I've never met a Cody before.

I'm CJ. That's my entire first name, I don't have a middle name. It confuses the piss out of people so much. Then with every certificate I've ever received that always manage to mis-punctuate my name. C.J. ins't my legal name >.>

But overall, I enjoy my name. I've never met someone with a name as short as mine so... Achievement unlocked?
I'm called 'DJ' by just about everyone I know; welcome to the club of names that are spelled the exact same way they are pronounced!

My actually first name is Donnell, but I avoided using that name most of the time. I think I was just getting really sick of being called 'Donald', and a lot of people already used DJ anyways. I rather like Donnell, but depending on how you pronounce it sounds very feminine; I have no idea why I think so.
