My game of the year so far is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, with a close runner-up being Mortal Kombat.

Oh look at the people naming games that aren't out yet. Yeah, hype is an accurate measure of quality, right?

Anyway, for me it's Portal 2, with Deus Ex: Human Revolution coming as a really close second.

Depends on the criteria. For pure enjoyment, DX:HR. For mechanics however, I'm going with Achron because, fuck. Then for most awesome "arty" game, Stanley Parable, which was a damn mod, but whatever.

Dark Souls. It's the only game released that wasn't a collection that is worth the money you'll pay for it.

Haven't played Deus Ex yet. From what I've read, it can't live up to the original.

Well, it's certainly more playable, but at the time of release, the original was way better, yeah.

Its the only game I have bought to be released in 2011....well...that was good...BlOps dont count I merely bought it to drag to friends houses and camp the bots...-snicker-


Beyond that Im sure it will be Skyrim...but so far Space Marine sits nicely up top..

This year isn't over yet and I've barely played any of this year's titles. I think Dragon Age II, Pokemon White Version (Which came out last year in Japan), The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (Remake), The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition (Enhanced port), and Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (Crap, my dad got it with the 3DS). So, out of those, Pokemon, I guess...

I could tell you that my 2010 GOTY was Mass Effect 2 with Dragon Quest IX, Fallout: New Vegas, and Pokemon SoulSilver Version (Despite being a remake) were close runners up...

I've played enough of a few other games to get an opinion on them, but they don't approach the top of the list.

I own Shogun 2 but haven't played it yet. I expect it to take a spot near the top.

Once Dark Souls arrives, a week or so from now, I'm pretty sure it'll take the top spot and keep it.

I really wish I could say Deus Ex too, but those boss fights just ruined it for me, not quite on that level.

Hmmm, so far I am going to have to say gears 3 as I love the series and I think it is the only new game I have bought all year (at full price that is, I have bought other games cheaper that were still new like borderlands).

However, I will be renting arkham city and skyrim when they come out (don't have the £££ to buy them right now) so that might change.

I am loving space marine as well at the moment (also rented) and might well pick it up when it is a bit cheaper. Just wish they had put campaign co op in it (or even make it as dlc if they really have to).

Achieved the difficult task of feeling like Deus Ex. A wonderful game almost ruined by diabolically bad boss fights.

The best magic system in a game. Extremely funny.

Frozen Synapse
Brilliant turn-based tactical game. Extremely addictive. Extremely challenging!

Somehow managed to be as witty as the first whilst simultaneously bringing something fresh to the world. GlaDos' treatment by Wheatley was one of the funniest things I have seen in a game.

Dark Souls is amazing. While I wouldn't say it's my favorite game in a year that's filled really enjoyable games (Human Revolution became one of my favorite games period), it certainly surprised me, just like Demon's Souls did.

So far my GOTY is Portal 2....unfortunatly im broke and the only game im getting in between now and xmas might be Skyward Sword for my wii....if that will beat Portal 2 for me...i dont know...i hope it will as im a huge zelda fan (a very controversial one too seeing as i hated a Link to the Past).
