Any questions. What is it?Ken Korda said:Can I ask an essay question? I was wondering if anyone here might think of something I hadn't
Two questions I have to ask you:Duck Sandwich said:I've been doing kickboxing for 5 months and mixed martial arts for 1 month. But there is the occasional moment during my training where I just feel like I've lost my edge. Like I just can't do as good as I normally do. I must admit that sometimes I have a very slight lack of motivation, but other times, I just tire out more easily than I normally do.
I don't think the problem is with my eating/sleeping habits. I almost never eat junk food, and I get at least 7 hours of sleep a day. (I read on a fitness website once that the more you exercise, the less sleep you need, so I should be able to get along fine with 1 less hour of sleep than most people, seeing as how I do kickboxing fairly often)
There are a couple of different skills you might need to develop based on what sort of school you're in - grade school or post-secondary, I mean - but here are some tips that have always worked for me (might be biased toward university stuff but should be generally applicable):seydaman said:Im having trouble keeping my grades up in school.Im somewhat lazy and need some help?

It's almost never justified to get someone out of a relationship for selfish reasons. It's only really morally justified when they're in an abusive relationship and you have no interest in them other than their well being.wewontdie11 said:No! ...sorry *serious face*
Ok serious problem, is it ethically justifiable to attempt to seduce somebody currently in a relationship? Not like cheating but attempting to lure a person away from their current partner, because my conscience has been kicking my ass about this one recently.
Also has anybody got any particularly good de-stressing techniques or activities? My usual shooting pixelated people and drinking heavily hasn't been cutting the mustard recently.

As for de-stressing, meditation, gardening, country walks and cooking work for me.
Ah you see I've got the whole angel and devil on the shoulders thing going on because I know it's inherently wrong to attempt to break up a perfectly fine relationship, and I'm usually a very morally upstanding person, but on the other more selfish hand, I can't really help how I feel about the person in said relationship a great deal either. Plus my life has been full of too many "what ifs" already and I really wouldn't like to chalk another one on there.ianuam said:It's almost never justified to get someone out of a relationship for selfish reasons. I'm not down with mass culture and commercial culture and consumerism, but I know how to use that money a hell of a lot better than the people buying themselves beemers do. Thrive in the society you're in, and use your resources to improve it.ianuam said:Is it right for me to embrace the capitalistic society in order to achieve wealth so that i may spend it on ecological philanthropy and scientific research in order to advance society and protect the planet?
I'm going to give you a convoluted answer. My girlfriend left another dude so that she could be with me, and we're really happy together. I didn't "seduce her away from him;" I just flirted with her like I would with any other girl I was interested in, and eventually she decided of her own accord that she'd rather be with me. Basically, don't try to steal her away. That's the bad part. I'd argue that it's quite misogynistic. There's nothing wrong with flirting with her, however; if she's not happy with her current situation and she sees that things will be better with you, she'll go for it. HOWEVER, don't simply wait around for it to happen, either; get out there, and find some other girls, and flirt with them and take them on dates and all that jazz. There's nothing more pathetic than a guy sitting around willing a girl to like him.wewontdie11 said:Ok serious problem, is it ethically justifiable to attempt to seduce somebody currently in a relationship? If you feel like it's going to take a long while before you actually succeed in one of these ambitions you've mentioned, you should look for something else in the meantime, like (just a suggestion) history teacher. Yes, in a school.Tenmar said:Here is my problem,
I cannot find suitable employment. I have been looking for better employment for over a year now and even after countless applications, resumes, cover letters(crafted personally, by friends and family, and paid services) I have not even landed one interview EXCEPT the current job I have working for AT&T as a Sales Support Rep.
I have a B.A. in History and would like to become employed as an archivist or curator, preferably dealing with video and audio. Another career would be to work for a video game show or website because one of my other passions is video games and maybe combine my love of history with video games. Another passion of mine would be to attain my pilot's license or study the human eye to allow eyesight transfers.I know the latter two would require me to go back to school and I would not mind that at all because I know this would mean I would also be eligible for more internships.
I really do not know what to do or what steps I should take to even get the chance to become employed because most college grads I know are being forced to move back in with their parents and are making less than 20k a year(I know about 50 graduates who are in the same situation I am in). I know HIGH school graduates that are making more than that, but college students in the U.S. are getting boned when it comes to career opprotunities now.
So what do I need to do to become employed allowing me to move out of my parents place and become self-sufficient?
EDIT
To help some people here with time management or find there is just too much to do in their life I would recommend heading to this link from Carnegie Mellon University by the late Randy Pausch. He provides some great lectures.

If you have some time this is his big lecture, also very nice considering it was his LAST LECTURE.

Sorry for double-post. thiosk, if your graduate research is the only option you have, then even if it turns out it's worthless, you HAVE to try & make it impressive. You said superconductor research side-stepped what you researched? Give a view of what your research would've done to affect superconductor research. Give them what you found out through your research. Try to give more weight to the advantages over any disadvantages. & if I understand what I read, your research can be used to make some very expensive jewelry!thiosk said:I can't figure out how my graduate research is going to help anyone ever. halp!

Well, if you enjoy the walk and want something to do during it, then no. If you are expecting to actually find anything of value, then yes, yes it is.hypothetical fact said:Will it be a complete waste of time to buy a metal detector and walk along the beach hoping to find something valuable?
