Funnily enough, I work for a charity. Of sorts. Animal Welfare actually, but still a charity organisation.

I need help!

Back in August I went to a music festival with a chum from school. VIP passes and it was free because his Dad worked there. My friend's family went and he was allowed to bring a friend (hence me going for free) and his sister brought her friend. I fell in love with her (the sister's friend) and I still think of her. For the entire concert, I just dumped my friend on his own (selfish, I know) and stayed with said girl. However, the festival was only for five days and I haven't seen her since but I can't stop thinking of her. I haven't felt the emotions that I have for her for quite sometime and I can't imagine myself with anyone else at this very moment in time.

Now, in January I have the possibility of seeing her just for one day at another concert. I want to ask her out and express my love for her but I don't believe I have the courage. Even if I do she'll most likely say no or will be currently taken because I doubt I have much chance with her. There is also the possibility that she won't come to the concert, if in that case should I move on or attempt at contacting her some way or another by getting her phone number or something off of my friend's sister but then I'll appear as a stalker and I wouldn't know what to say?

If someone can just give me advice or suggestions, I will truly appreciate it.

Get absolutely shit faced drunk. I mean at least a bottle of whiskey and a few (6+) cans. After that, youll have the courage you need. Even though you probably wont be able to speak properly...

Hooray for Dutch Courage!!!

Is anyone else having trouble connecting to the PSN or is it just me? thats my only prob at the mo
I can't help you with that one, but I can say it's probably either a router problem on your end or a server problem on their end. Are you having problems connecting to anything else?
No everything else is fine. I even tried downloading the update file off my PC but still wouldn't download from sony's playstation website.

Well then, it sounds like a problem with the PSN.

I hate christmas. I hate the entire damn thing, from the carols to the decorations, everything. I hate it almost as much as I hate the people who've abused the animals that are now in my care at work.
Look into the night sky. When I see stars I feel warm inside that humans have not messed up the trillions of other worlds out there. Star are like diamonds, so close for you reach them and far enough to escape human stupidity.
??? Sorry, not quite following. How will looking at the sky alieviate my hatred of christmas?
My interpretation of your post was that you hated crass commericalism. I am sorry that I confused you with my post. The focus of my post was that although there is a lot commericals on TV and online, and the false happiness permeating the pores of the world, there is still areas that have not marred by humanity's presence. The stars and space is blissfully ignorant. It's knowing that all the crap in the world cannot dim the light and that will be the only thing to change for the better, that something as beautiful as the object before it will take its place.

And here I am, Thursday morning at 3.26am and I'm still not doing it.

Quite a bit more to it than that, but I don't really share the story with people. It's something I try to keep buried, but this time of year always brings it to the surface, and it colours my every thought and word.

Sorry about a little bit of thread necromancy but I have a problem that's been chapping my ass for a while now...

I have a friend in London, she was my best friend when I lived there but I never get to see her since we never have any money to drive to London. I was supposed to be keeping in touch with her over the phone, but I hate phones (and I think I gave her my phone number wrong...), and when she asked me if I had MSN, I was still a computer noob so I didn't know what the hell she was talking about... So now I don't know how long it's been but I'm really scared of getting in touch with her since I'm now completely paranoid, anxious, scared of other human beings, scared that she doesn't care about me and I'm terrified of cocking up...

What should I do?... It sounds as simple as picking up the phone and calling her but... I don't know how she'll react...

Yeah I doubt I'll use this advice but it's the thought that counts. Also, I'm anti-alcoholic so I couldn't even if I wanted to but I may get the same effects of being drunk if I spin around on the spot for some time which is always fun.

As trite as it sounds: don't worry about it. Text her with a request to 'catch up'.

Don't be surprised if there isn't a response- if it's been a long time, or if she's a forgetful person the initial text may go entirely unanswered. If that happens go ahead and text/phone again a week later.

Texting takes a little less of an emotional investment, and can be answered at leisure.

Also be sure to friend her on a social networking site. Those sites are easy to sneer at, but are extremely useful if you lose your address book/computer/contact info.

I stay far away from mobile phones too...
It seems a bit stalker-ish to look her up on the internet..

A Christmas card maybe?

Just call her up or email then.

I mentioned the social networking thing as an after thought (something after the ice is broken), but I've found old friends that way as well.

If you decide to get a card be sure to add your contact info.
