People are, more often than not, stupid, fearful, and gullible. Don't be afraid to use that against them as you better yourself however you can.

People's demands are propositions to consider, nothing more.

(Damn, it makes me chaotic something...)

Never take action without a reason.

You can always find a reason to take action.

Karma. Whatever kindness you show to other people will eventually be returned to you. Or, really, be nice. Just because you can.

Respect is earned, not given. So is disrespect.

Everyone starts out neutral. How they treat me determines whether I will respect or disrespect them. As long as you aren't a dick to me I won't be one to you, but I'm not going to be nice just for niceness' sake either. I expect the same from others, too, I don't expect you to automatically respect me either.
A shocking amount of people do not think this. I don't know why this is either.

Seems like a sure way to living a depressing life if you ask me. But hey, it's the way to go right? Maybe I should be more like you.

Sorry but, I don't buy into that cynicism shit. I think I'd much rather go back to being happy. It's much nicer like that.
I know my I would be better off if I adopted this philosophy about 7 years ago. It really doesn't preclude happiness, nor do I know why it would. In my case it would have done the opposite.

Why do it today, when you can do it tomorrow?

I might have a minor procrastination problem.

Having a Plan B is for chumps. The real champ always has a Plan A through F.

(I guess you could just call it 'Semper paratus'.)

You only live once. So do what makes you happy, not what others think will make you happy (obviously within certain limitations).

cynicism is not a fad. i wouldn't explain further, but, beeing happy, yes, it's something to aspire to, but it isn't as easy as just chosing to be happy. Because i'd rather be a cynicall a**hole for the rest of my life than be naively happy. Besides, you couldn't go back to beeing happy after seeing the ugly nature of things.

To quote Edward Blake: "It's all a fucking joke" and to continue that sentiment, keep them all laughing as you go!

No day but today.

Try not to live in the past. Don't wait for the future. Live in the now.

Alright fair enough I'll give you that, it isn't as easy as just deciding to be happy... but that's the first step at least, no? And of course you can go back to being happy after seeing how things are. The world's a pretty fucked up place, and so are most of the people in it.

But I suppose this is going with the theme of thread, I try to be the change I want to see in the world. If I want the world to be a nicer and fairer place, I have to start with myself. It's very easy to give up and be cynical, it's much harder to try and change things. As hopeless a task it probably is, I'm still gonna have a shot at it.

For the record, I'd choose naively happy over cynical asshole any day.

One I've adopted recently after being fucked around too much is "Always go for the victory, no matter what gets lost".
