Ooh, several rules for several situations... but I guess an overarching one would be..

"Be the best you can be."

Cheesey perhaps, but it's worked for me.

Dont eat the yellow snow. Actually really vaaluable information when u live in Michigan.

joking aside. Have Regrets. Yes, you heard me. Have regrets.

Regrets are memories of times when we consciously acted against what we naturally believe in.
They teach us about ourselves. I regret doing things. I wish I hadnt done them and I would change many of them in a heartbeat if I could. and I understand that sort of thinking. But blatantly trying to act like the past did go bad, or that it was somebody elses fault, or that "its okay, it just makes me who I am." is a weak excuse for not facing your own conscience.

"Yes its a shame and I wish it didnt happen. But here is what I can learn from it.... etc"
-or-
"Im perfect, everyone else is wrong!"

Which sounds more sensible?.. and benificial?

Learn to laugh at yourself.
I have yet to master this immensely useful skill myself, but when I do my life will be at least 20% cooler.
PS. Try not to think about the heavy stuff, life is to short to start thinking about death.
