The problem is that if I were to take a character from a videogame with me into my nightmare it would immediately stop being a nightmare and start being an awesome dream.

Ironically I just had one of these types of dreams the other night, and damn it was a vivid one. the character I was with was Dante from Dante's Inferno. I guess no better person to be your guide through hell than someone who has done it before.

My worst nightmare... hmm. Kefka from FF6 because he at the end of the game was the embodiment of all magic. He'd be able to take on anything.

Actually don't have many nightmares(at least that I remember), but i suppose I'll take a generic monster movie and use that. If I had to pick one, probably Rikimaru from tenchu, or maybe the Master Chief. Either one of those characters pretty much guarantees I'll survive anything. Assuming they don't try to kill me themselves. However, can I take the old Namek from DBZ? cuz it would be so much cooler to get powers myself.

link would hands down be the guy id wanna hang aroud. but since thats not your question, ill say Ilia from twilight princess as shes my favorite female character in gaming for a reason unknown to me. i say her because my worst nightmare wouldnt be physical fighting i dont really fear that stuff that way. i think my greatest fear would be something id need a girl like ilia to help me through.
