Hey, it's my wish list, so I can wish for whatever I like, right? I understand why you or other people wouldn't like that, but I think it would be interesting to have to figure that sort of problem out...
This is true. I think it would be nice to be able to do such a thing, since there isn't much variety in the weapons and armour anyway (iron, steel, glass etc) and you have the whole game to collect them. I believe you should have a personalised armour from the start, and having to swap with better stuff as the game progresses (think swapping fur boots for iron boots)

In terms of your views on weapons, it could go two ways. One way is to have limited weapons that are all around, so you don't feel the need to get rid of stuff you have (such as in halo, where you'll find the weapon you want within 5 minutes anyway)

the alternative is hundreds of sorts of weapons, such as in Borderlands, where you pick different ones up every two minutes, thus not needing to keep weapons.

Indeed! I saw this thread so many times I can guess pretty much every thing people want. How about a Fallout wishlist? There's a new coming this year!
Then make a fallout topic and stop crying in this one?
Will you post in the other thread? ^^ (And there was a FO:NV wishlist a couple of days ago.)

Better character models, dialogue, voice acting and general NPC interaction would be nice. Also more visceral, realistic combat, and a world where not everything levels up with you. Top it off with a shiny graphical upgrade, and you have yourself a pretty great game there.

Also, don't make me go to cave X to retrieve Y number of object Z, or to kill person A or find lost person B and so forth. I HATE CAVES.

1. NPCs should purchase and use stuff that they buy from shops.

2. A new leveling system would be nice; I don't like it when everything else levels up with my own character in a rather linear fashion. If they actually had to obtain their own experience points and could level up from that, then that would be different (that would be awesome, too).

3. It would be really neat if NPCs didn't remain in one area - if they traveled from place to place every once in a while.

I want the guilds not to end when you reach master. The idea I came up with was that if every week you would get a few quests delivered to the guild hall, nothing too special just a random location filled with bad guys to kill.

I want to be able to either do the quests myself or assign them to a member. The quests would vary in difficulty so you might want to do the hard ones yourself to protect your guild mates. I would also want some kind of xp system for the members. Afters so many quests you could promote them which would make them stronger or give them better gear.

This way depending on the quest you would have to decide who would be the best person to send, if you kill your high ranks you gotta promote/recruit new members to fill the void. I'm sick of all the guild business stopping when you become the master.

Better combat. Really, it was miserably frustrating. Combat should make sense and be interesting. What about special moves? What about clever plans? As it was, you had two choices: M1+W or M1+S.

Better faces. Blotchy is unappealing.

More interesting environments. Really, trees are nice, but I do expect a little more. I'd pick craftsmanship over size any day.

A damage system where it matters if you get hit in the leg or the head. Also, a "bleeding mechanic", where you aren't damaged right away, but you eventually bleed some health if you don't bandage your wound.

Okay I see what you mean, I think it'd be cool to have a sheath for everything, and being covered in weapons and stuff. It would looks so badass.

Perhaps you could hire people or creatures to take thing you find back to your house for you? Thus you can keep the stuff you want, not just have it equipped all the time.
Exactly! Now you're thinking the way that I am. Treasure and rewards are more gratifying if you've got to work harder for them... Think about Halo and other games where you're limited to only two weapons... "Do I pick up the rocket launcher, or hold onto the sniper rifle?"

Yes but your proposed inventory system doesn't sound FUN. At all. Walking around even casual players can have fun doing, exploring new things and fighting monsters and enjoying the scenery. The inventory thing is just an arbitrary ralism limit in a game about MAGIC and smacking ogres to death with my bare fists.
Hey, it's my wish list, so I can wish for whatever I like, right? I understand why you or other people wouldn't like that, but I think it would be interesting to have to figure that sort of problem out... Also, I think it would add to the immersion factor.
Ok, but what? Halo is an FPS, money isn't needed. TES are RPG's and money is needed. Thus, you need the extra stuff for money...

I cited Halo as an example of the sort of strategic decisions you need to make in those kinds of situations... Adding the loot factor in just makes it more interesting IMO... "This sword is worth more gold, but this one does more damage... Which one do I take?"

title says it all, what will you be looking for in the much anticipated sequel to Morrowind and Oblivion?

I'll be looking for:

better horse control, it was quite frankly awful

better combat or more range of slashes/moves

less pointless quests and more deep quests

a better range of armour and weapons or a place to create your own model

more than 4 voice actors

less robotic movements

more characterisation to add to feelings to characters

what about you?
Normally I don't do this, but please please use the search bar...this topic has been done about 50 bazillion times, and I wish I was exaggerating. I would post links, but it's late and I have a weird virus that basically disables any sort of Google search. Seriously.

Morrowind had tons of pointless quests, while Oblivion had less quests overall, but they were usually deeper and had some effects on the world...even a few of the randomly-found sidequests (like the undercutting Bosmer merchant in Imperial City) had multiple twists and affected the game world. Unfortunately, Oblivion-haters frequently just trumpet the number and say "Morowingd is beterr cuz it hsa 174 moar qustes olbivion sux lololol".

Simply put, Oblivion was quality while Morrowind was quantity. Combine the two and you've got a winner.
you, sir, are wrong. Morrowind was better because all of its myriad sidequests immersed you into the world, whereas all of oblivion's quests rely on the horrendously broken voice scripting, which even I found flowbreaking. But whatever thats not the point

What I want in TESV... Morrowind with fallout 3 power.

and no gods damned guns! Steampunk went out with the dwemer!
Also, a more interesting main quest than oblivion. Morrowind had a cool thing going on with ancient vengeance and casting down a corrupt regime and all that jazz. Oblivion just had "Sean Bean wants you to get his groceries!" and a spiffy dragon

Additional mounts, like giant lizards or giant bird things or something. I like variety.
Better animation.

A better setting. Oblivion sucked all the fun out of exploring because its setting was really dull and generic, and exploring is the only mechanic that the Elder Scrolls needs to be good. Like Morrowind, which was a better game despite the gameplay not being nearly on the same level as Oblivion.

Complete overhaul of the Oblivion leveling system.

Ability to name the horse.

Dwarves.

For fuck's sake, CLOAKS AND CAPES. What kind of high fantasy story doesn't have a fucking cloak? Are they that wool-headed?

More weapons.
A crafting system for weapons/armor.
More voice actors.
A better face editor.
Less crashing.
How about different movements for weapons? It's kinda silly that I hold different styles of swords and slash the same way with them, like I'm waving a flag regardless of the type of sword, in oblivion.
A better leveling up system, no more of this SLEEP AND LEVEL UP crap. Please no scaling worlds either : ( I hate those with a fiery passion.
I'd also like the daedric realms to have a different appearance. We went into some other realms of the daedric lords for quests in Oblivion but they all (except for sheogorath in SI) looked just like the main evil lord's realm (I can't remember his name right now) Even though we were given descriptions on what they should look like in the game.
I agree to all but there is one hting you ALL forgot to mention....FIGHTING on HORSEBACK. Imagine how AWESOME itd be to go all lord of the rings on enemies arses by charging into battle while shooting your arrow. or slashing with a sword or throwing a spear....

Also when i hit something by accident i dont want them to kill me too i want them to move over and keep goin after what the original target.

Here's the official TESV wishlist thread on Bethesda's official forums: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1068055

your opinions may be more useful there. I got banned from the forums, so I'm gonna suggest here: Make the combat a bit more like Demon's Souls, but in first person.

My tes wishlist:

A more orginal setting. Cyrodiil in the orginal lore was a bloody jungle and the Imperials where more like Roman centurians then done to death medieval knights. Bring back the creativity of Morrowind.

You shouldn't be able to fast travel everywhere, just between major hubs and then it should give a believable explanantion. (Boat trip, Mage teleportation, bloody land ships.)

Better mounts. The horses in Oblivion where poorly executed. It's sort of forgiveable becuase horses are one of the hardest things to animate. Maybe add region specific mounts like sabertooth cats from Elsweyr or giant reptiles from Argonia.

Less enemies. Fighting should be an event, something you have to gear up against and tackle. You shouldn't have to be chopping down a wolf every other step, that just gets tiresome quickly.

Tackle some bigger issues then "Demons!" Morrowind had slavery, drug cartels, better guilds, guild wars and intrigue. Oblivion had a cliche saving the world from demonic invasion plot.

Make the higher value armour/weopens harder to find. In morrowind it was an achivment to find all the pieces to the incredibly rare Deadric armour. In Oblivion everyone and his grannie had it at higher levels. This made collecting and stocking your house a hell of alot less fun.

Level scaling. I don't have a problem with this if implemented well (such as you never notice it e.g. Morrowind) but Oblivions sucked all sense of achievement away, especially item scaling. I still want to encounter bandits wearing leather, and churn them beneath my boot.

Thats all I can think of right now.

Abilities
The ability to control ships (+related quests)
The ability to hire and command an army (Including setting patrol routes, sieging cities and castles,...)
The ability to hire workers to gather resources and build buildings (cities, military structures)
[sup]Does that make it too RTS-like?[/sup]
The ability to to take different paths in the storyline (good ending, evil ending, bad ending, another evil ending, apocalyptic ending)
The ability to bribe the guard so they look the other way when you're on a crime spree
The ability to Rule the World
The ability to cast DOOM-tastic spells (really large scale firespells fit to destroy cities, spells like Sephiroth's Meteor destroying the solar system ability)

Other
A full globe to travel on and conquer instead of a limited plane worldspace

[sup]Sounds a lot like my perfect RPG...[/sup]
