The seventh generation of video games is finally nearing a close, and a helluva one it was indeed. Looking back on the state of gaming on the eve of Xbox 360's launch and comparing it now to its current state, it's astonishing how much the industry has changed over the last 7 or so years... For better and for worse.
And so, it was with this frame of mind I thought it would be a nice idea to compose a list of what is, in my opinion, the finest games of this generation. Simple as. Here is my list, in order of preference:
1) The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
2) The Orange Box
3) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
4) LittleBigPlanet
5) Demon's Souls
6) Dark Souls
7) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
8) Gears of War
9) Portal 2
10) Red Dead Redemption
So there you have it. What does your list look like, bruv?
Honourable Mentions: Grand Theft Auto IV, inFamous, Flower, Limbo, Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, Telltale's The Walking Dead, BioShock Infinite, Minecraft and Left 4 Dead.
Ones to Watch: The Last Guardian, Dark Souls II, The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, Beyond: Two Souls and Metro: Last Light.
