1. Megaman 2 (NES)
2. Super Metroid (SNES)
3. Xenogears (PS1)
4. Gitaroo Man (PS2)
5. The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PS1)

Loads of honorable mentions, like the MGS series, Chrono Trigger, Starfox, etc., etc.

I won't go so far as to say "of ALL TIME" as my taste will doubtless change with the times (with the exception of my #1 choice which I think might actually remain my favourite forever)

1. Commander Keen 4: Goodbye Galaxy [sup](PC)[/sup]
2. Just Cause [sup](360)[/sup]
3. IL-2 Sturmovik [sup](PC)[/sup]
4. Brothers in arms: Hell's Highway/Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (tied) [sup](360)[/sup]
5*: Left 4 Dead [sup](360)[/sup]

[sup]* ignoring the fact that ties usually take two places out of lists like this[/sup]

Honourable mention to Operation Flashpoint [sup](PC)[/sup] and Tenchu Z [sup](360)[/sup]

Yeah, it is pretty damn awesome.

Shameless plug for the review I wrote about it one time, for more nostalgic flashing.
if you want to play a game that was epic when i was growing up, look up 'splatterhouse' for the turbografx.

it may not be very impressive by today's standards, but it fucking rocked and looked and played amazingly at the time that it came out.

This seems like the perfect time and place to carelessly throw my gaming opinions into the internet and see if anyone cares!

1)ff ix(ps1)
2)ff x (ps2)
3)ff vi (ps1)
4)ff viii (ps1)
5)wow, i think..or maybe dawn of war, depending on my mood...

you *might* have noticed there alot of final fantasy titles. i loved those games, and untill i got access to a pc they were pretty much the only thing i played. Probably shouldnt have admited that...

Views may change

1. Half Life 2 (PC, 360)
- Amazingly well made and always fun to revisit, eventually with gameplay Mods or in Coop with Synergy

2. Metal Gear Solid 1 (PS1, NOT Gamecube because IMHO that version just sucked)
- Great Gameplay, Bossfights and attention to Detail, plus a very fun story.

3. Deus Ex (PC, PS2 [surprisingly ok port])
- Awesome Story, Varied Gameplay, Fun Atmosphere

4. Epyx Winter Games (C64)
- COUNTLESS hours spent on this one, literally fun for the whole Family

5. Burnout 3: Takedown (PS2)
- COUNTLESS hours spent on this one, highlight of the series, crazy fun in multiplayer

Now i need to hit "Post" fast, my mind gets littered with amazing games that also would deserve mention...

1. Halo (as a trilogy)
2. Bioshock
3. Mass Effect
4. Gears of War 2
5. Portal
6. Oblivion
7. Fable
8. Otogi: Myth of Demons
9. Saint's Row 2
10. King Kong

Might have to change this list later as there are a few too many of the same genre.

I remember playing that game (or at least a later version of it), 'twas indeed pretty fucking awesome.
I think there's a new version coming out soon.
Of course that could well be taken as bad news.

I'm sort of derailing the thread rather than contributing at the moment, so to be sort of relevant, here's my top 5 least favourite games, out of games that I had the misfortune to buy.

1. Eternal Sonata (fuck you Eternal Sonata) [sup](360)[/sup]
2. Cabbela's big game hunter [sup](360)[/sup]
3. Mercenaries 2 [sup](360)[/sup]
4. Civilisation Revolution [sup](360)[/sup]
5. Uh... That's all I can think of.

It's probably because I've blocked out the memory of older ones, but my list doesn't do wonders for the credibility of the 360's game library.

Top 5 games, not 10, 5. And the Halo trilogy would count as 3 games.

unfourtunately i have never owned either of those, i heard 7 was really good, which explains why when i went game hunting nowhere seemed to have it.
