I have doubts about it being better then New Colossus, but a lot of people didn't seem to realize you could really run and gun in New Colossus. If you were moving fast enough enemy shots would tend to miss you and you could use that to really run around like crazy and deal with nazzes.
The running and gunning I got fine, it was more "optional stealth" I got sick and tired of, and was more annoying than New Order. I really don't like these sections and they're much more of them compared to the last game. The whole, Nazi grunts will re-spawn, if you don't kill the commander got on my nerves. I mentioned this to you before back in 2020, but really hate these sections. They actually make running and gunning less viable. Especially in wide open areas and on harder difficulties.

I remember not having much issue with the officers, I tended to be able to stealth kill one and then the other I didn't really mind hunting down. But its also been years since I last played. It is on my replay list, when I originally played it my vid card was kinda underpowered and I remember the court room section being so hard because I was getting like 15 fps.

I played on PS4. I didn't have frame it issues, but it didn't make this stupid section any less hard. The fact this section is a hallucination/dream sequence pisses me off even more. Making the entire chapter pointless. Machine Games should have not even bothered, or made so you can't die.

I actually kinda liked the dream/hallucination thing since I've never seen a game pull that. But it does make dying during it and having to start over rather silly.

Beat the Death Kings of the Dark Citadel expansion for Hexen. I was indeed pretty close to the end. The final fight was harder then the boss of the base game, but less interesting since it was just enemy waves followed by a hero clone. Started of the new expansion for Heretic, Faith Restored. Easier then I was expecting since the final 2 episodes of the base game were pretty rough at first. It adds a couple new enemies so far, a tall mummy who shoots skulls, but they are purple and not orange. The new mummy is also faster and way less tough then the base mummy. The other new enemy is a buff skull melee guy who charges really fast at you, hes kinda fun and annoying.

Hence why that level can go fuck itself.

Not that it has much competition, but Double Dragon II (Game Boy) is the best brawler on the system. Even though it's a reskin of a Kunio-Kun game, they redid all of the music to sound more serious and sinister. The final boss fights completely differently in DDII GB, so it works out in the end.

I find the later Musou games (Samurai Warriors 4 & 5 specifically) and their Zelda spin off titles, much better than Dynasty Warriors as a whole. While the maps are smaller, they're still large within their own game and the combat's faster and speedier. I love the use of character switching when you can switch to a character on the other side of the map. The DW games still don't do this. Even the more recent and modern one. Origins, I'm skipping out on because you really can't play as the other characters. The reason why people play these games in the first place. It's got grape. I'm battling combat mechanics book. Why can't this be used for the actual characters and not some fan fiction OC create a character no one cares about?

Samurai Warriors, at least the later games starting at the fourth mainline entry, have this much more visceral arcade feel I enjoy. I can't exactly explain it, but it probably helps that these games are way more colorful and don't rely too much on the greens and browns, even when they do show up.

Now that Silksong release date has been announced, I am of course happy for the many Hollow Knight fans and those who were looking forward to it.

I am also cruelly looking forward to the backlash and the backlash backlash. The many "hot" takes about how it's overrated and the wait wasn't worth it, that other metroidvanias have exceeded what these games have to offer, insulting fanboys who love it just because it's a familiar IP, and the well actuallys about how it's really that good and was worth the wait.

And we know those will be the takes even before anyone played it.

Bitches like them I put on complete, ignore and can decide for myself. I'm not interested in either games, but I would take HK and Silksong over any GTA came any day of the week.

I've already seen people who are like 'has it already been outclassed before it came out?' on this very website (the main news section, who are mostly hacks). Which is why I'm going to be avoiding as many of the usual places as I can until I've actually played through it. Taken on a surface level, Hollow Knight back in 2017 wasn't doing anything particularly new or innovative either, but it was the combination of all of its elements that made it a masterpiece, and it's entirely likely that something similar will be going on with Silksong. Though, honestly, I'll gladly take 'as good as the first one' without needing an even better sequel.

I heard a good point when listening to SecondWind's most recent podcast that Team Cherry's promotion of Silksong was just... normal? Like not bothering with all the memes and hype. They made the game, they made the trailer, they're releasing it. Yes they made projected release windows over the years and delayed but they didn't like f*** with it. Especially now that it's actually coming out, we know that was all real. They're ads are just like "here's our game please buy" like normal, even though they could have been cute about it and referenced it like other game makers (I rather enjoyed the Outer Worlds 2 ad referencing GTA and all that tbh, but as a contrast).

So yeah I'm rolling my eyes at any criticism of the game that isn't about the game. Even though I have been making fun of the Silksong hype over the years (because it was just annoying to go to any showcase stream and see reems of "shut up I just want Silksong!"), that's just people being jackasses.

'Cause I know that the game I been waiting for 10 years (Witcher 4) will go through the same crap of hype, false hype, backlash, and I'm-so-clever analysis cycle.

It would not shock me if people started doing this with Lost Soul Aside. Though after a bunch of the so called "geniuses and intellectuals" go on about how this game needs to succeed to bring action games back and "kill" Dark Souls/soulslikes. Even though stylish action games have already been back for a long time and don't need to dominate. Nor ever dominated the entire industry in the first place. Like some people like to falsely claim and do really dumb revisionist history.

How much of that is because it has the word "Soul" in it? I mean, yeah, I know, dumb dumb dumb... but people do be like this. Words are powerful. The word "soul" is a loaded term in gAmr DisCourSE

That's nothing to do with anything, so no need to worry.

There were people like this long before this game came back into the light after the long development hiatus.

Like this dumb fucker, named BeeG. I pretty much had to unsubscribe from his channel after this. I came for combo videos, not amateur high school lecture wanna be smart guy who thinks they know everything and are playing constantly victim. If this video is from 2023.

Love vampire survivors, so this is no shade on the game, merely the way it was talked about and the way expectations are formulated going in. And that's that this is meant to be a casual type game you can go in and play whenever you wanna I dunno double task or some shit cos it's one button game, and that button is the thumbstick. And yeah, it's certainly a one thumbstick game, but it ain't a double tasker at all, if you take your eyes away for even a nanosecond this bastard will murder you. I can't even sip a fucking coffee, let alone check a phone message, it annihilates me every time! Did a dog nuzzle your leg or kittie jump on your lap? Sorry, dead! Do. Not. Look. Away. From. This. Game. It. Wants. You. Gone.

Great game though, lots of fun everyone should play it.

there has to be a poll somewhere on which competitive group of players in a genre ***** and complain the most actively about the games they play.

Fgs and FPS are very high up there, lol.
