Escapist forum stock reply #1: Jesus Christ you people are ridiculous.

"Having feelings about fictional characters? Is that normal? I don't think that's normal. Fuck, what if random people on the internet think that I might have experienced this too. What if people I've never met think I'm not normal. Fuck. 'Uh, I have sex with girls.' Yeah, yeah, that's good. That'll throw them off."

Leaving aside the fact that people can very naturally develop attachments to damn near anything, the notion that people can become attached to representations of humans or anthropomorphized characters isn't even remotely remarkable. The whole point of making the characters human-like is to allow people to relate to them. Fluttershy may be a pony, but she's a pony who manipulates tools, wears clothes, and speaks fucking English. We're not talking about some farmer who's fallen in love with his horse.

If you've never experienced this phenomenon or think it's pathetic or weird that someone could, you are the odd one.

OT: None come to mind immediately, but I'm very sure there have been at least a couple. There's really no helping it.

She's a pony.

A pony is a young horse.

See where I'm going with this?
Oh I have an interesting read for you from the pony/human age relative.

*digdigdigdig*

Found it!
yup [https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B8VfOcLr_9YAOWY4ZTgxMDEtYjMxMS00YmZkLWExOWQtODAxNTlmNzgyOWQ5&hl=en_US]

Side note: I love it when people overthink in fandoms, makes for awesome readings.
Wow, I just read that article you linked. It was very informative. Makes me understand MLP:Fim that much more.

OT: My Television Waifu would probably be a humanized Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy.
My anime Waifu would be Revy from Black lagoon.

Just for the record, I do have a physical girlfriend.

And... yeah, I do have a waifu.

Chie Satonaka
Chie is a really good character and cute to boot. Nice choice.
OP: Naoto Shirogane:

She is cute and quite intelligent. And shorter than me. I feel uncomfortable around taller girls.
High five to both of you guys too for Persona 4!

I don't know...
My mind has kinda gone blank. I don't want to sound awful. I was going to say Sunny from MGS4, but she'd be about 6 when I'd be 18, so Paedophilia. Eww. Maybe Molly from Neuromancer, or Kiki from Kiki's delivery service.
Supremely cute, and also can fly, so bonus there, n'est pas?

Huge amount of butthurt in this thread. Suck it up people, it's only for fun, as the OP clearly said.

While I dislike the term "waifu" in itself (It relates more to the weaboo stereotype than anything else.), there are a couple fictional females whom I can say without shame that I have had a slight attraction to; both in the past and the present. They are both rather cute, and don't really act any different than what I hope to find in an actual girl someday.

Judge me if you will, but my choices are as follows, as there is no way I would be able to choose one or the other:

She's sweet, naive, and appears to be a joy to get to know. Starfire was probably my first fictional crush.

Up until recently, I had no idea who this woman was. Now that I've done a bit of research, I think it's safe to say Felicia is fast becoming one of my favorite video game characters. While her attire may be questionable, I would be more than capable of looking past that. Yes, she is a nun, but fictionally speaking, I would more than jump at the chance to get to know her better.
I think i should point out that the Comic-book Teen titans version of Starfire made her out to be a total 180 of the cartoon show, she's very sexualized in the comic and is built in a provocative manner, as for Felicia well my love of this catgirl is expressed in the tattoo of her I have on my left arm( its a chaste chibi version of her)

Pretty much what I was thinking, thank you for saving me the trouble of posting it myself.
I wouldn't exactly say I'd want to be married to any of the characters I've listed, but would rather start off just knowing them, because they would make interesting people.

Hitagi Senjougahara,
Rimi Sakihata,
Tomoyo Sakagami,
Rei Ayanami,
Mikoto Misaka

I'm more of a Kagamine fan... Rin Kagamine, of course. She has a better voice anyway.

And who could argue with this adorableness?

As long as this is just for fun, I'd pick Kotomi Ichinose from Clannad. Extremely attractive, extremely intelligent, interested in a range of subjects... Perfect. She's already the wallpaper on my phone.

Me and my entire band say some pretty... explicit... things about Fluttershy whenever we watch MLP:FIM.

Personally though, I've always wanted to take the dick to Moira Brown from Fallout 3.

Hmmm this is not the definition of waifu that I've picked up on. The definition I've learned is your waifu is your internet BFF.

Er, ew? No, I do not draw nor seek out Alistair porn. He's just a funny and sweet (and pixelated) guy. Honestly I try to stay away from fan-porn, unless it's lulzy.
Good, so I have confirmed that there are people like you. After seeing the mind crushing quanity of that... "ART" I have had doubts about female fans of these games.
To be fair, there is plenty of horrific fan-porn of female characters out there by male fans. They usually have engorged mammaries not seen in nature that are nightmare inducing o_O
I guess you are right, I haven't thought about it like that. I guess as a male I was more repulsed about the way some fangirls obsess over him, than straight up porn. But you are right, I was unable to see through my bias that both genders can be as obsessive.

Good Christ this thread got a lot of hate right out the back.

I'm not even really a "waifu" type of guy, but I have contributions.

That love interest from Yu Yu Hakusho. Don't remember her name, but I remembered that she did legitimately seem like a real innocent person. Plus, you see her go through about 3 years of her life, leaving you to actually think she has some depth.

But, this was a few years back and I haven't really watched any cartoons for a long while. So I really don't think I have one any more.

Whenever I hear the beginning I start to smile because it's so damn sweet that I could get a sugar rush just from watching the clip :D

it's Mizore Shirayuki
