Submariner; doing all sorts of secret stuff, dropping SEAL teams off where God knows where....good stuff. I'm hoping I get selected for that in real life.

Dunno. If a real war started I'd have no idea what would happen.

If it was voluntary I wouldn't join the military at all.

If it was a relatively minor war, but still warranted conscription, it's up in the air what would happen.
They probably wouldn't want me all things considered, for one reason or another.

If it's as serious as the world wars were, then there's really no predicting what will happen.

Well, believe it or not, but I think I'd make a decent soldier actually. I have basic weapons training already, despite being in the UK and being non-military. I also have a knack for tactics, and I know how to pilot a glider and basic aerodynamics. As a result, I could easily join the Army or the RAF and I'd already have some of the basic skills needed to make basic training that much easier - it wouldn't help much as I am now, but would give me an edge when going through proper training.

And on that note, I'd do best either as a pilot, or as a marksman. I tend to be pretty good with the idea of flight, and love flying, and I'm not a bad shot when it comes to firing a rifle. Plus I have the tendency to try and stay away from combat and deal with things from a distance, so I'd be a much better marksman than anything else. And yes, there is a big key difference between a marksman and a sniper...

Failing that, I'd probably want to specialise and try and make it in something like the SAS (yes, I know I'd need really good experience and skills to even attempt that), but if the opportunity presented itself then I would certainly take it.

Medic, definitely, nothing like reviving a downed teammate. I think it's far more satisfying than getting a kill. I love in BF3 when I'm running with a squad and reviving them, laying down suppression and racking up the XP.

That or being the gunner in a tank (or gunner and driver, if I could, although that's rather unrealistic). The T-90A and M1 Abrams have got to be my second favourite part of the game, you just feel unstoppable. And nothing beats sneaking up behind an enemy tank, and firing a round right into the engine bay, instantly killing it.

Oh, and third choice would be pilot, the problem is, in BF3 I often get bored if there is nothing to attack in the air, and I kamikaze my plane into something.

I'm probably too much of a coward to fight. -_-
I'd prefer sniper, though. I have some deadly precision in shooter games, if that counts. ^^
But I'll probably end up as cannon fodder at the front lines anyway. xD

Sniper, I'd get nervous on the front lines. Noticed this when i use to do Paintball, I'd shoot at anything moving whenever i was close. But from a long distance i was calm and could think about the shot and the target, along with leading the target. Either that or a spotter.

So I was playing Battlefield 3 with some friends, and i came to realise that the classes we played really reflected what our prefered job in a real war would be
hahahahahahahha, oh God, i dont want to sound like trolling but that made me laugh so much, you know what class me, you and everyone else would be playing?? the "stick to the plan, get cover if things suck and try not to die" class, VG war is NOTHING like real war, and the "jobs" you just described are all very very specialized, as in you need a college degree in them, and you would probably end up in the meat grinder... sooo... no...

Don't put me into the thick of it, I'm not built for that (bum arm), I am however built and already trained for wilderness navigation and survival. I'm also highly trained in sitting in one place and being attentive; I'm a Security Guard AND I play Final Fantasy 11.

See that one guy running away.
Yeah, that would be me.

You see, I don't care enough about stuff to kill stuff for.
The other party that attacks probably does.
The fact that they care, and might be willing to die for their cause makes them obviously better then I am.

So I'm not even going to take that chance.

See ya!

Fighter pilot of some sort. That way I can blare the Top Gun soundtrack and have a bit of fun.

Either that or pretend I'm playing Battlefield 3 but with better graphics.
The latter would get you killed pretty quickly.

OT: I'd be a medic, I believe there is a law that in war you are not supposed to shoot the medic. However since the enemies we face now don't play by the rules I'd carry a combat shotgun like medics in Vietnam did, shotgun surgeon indeed.

What would I do in a war?
Easy. Go to Acapulco. Nothing bad ever happens there.
Wrong. People go Loco down there ALL THE TIME. The magic is just too strong.

Anyway, can I be transport and logistics? So long as the enemy aren't using seeker-type missiles to blow stuff up? I'd fancy my chances dodging "dumb" ordnance...
Or signals, maybe.
