YouTube has become an ungodly pile of awfulness, just why, Google, why?

Has anyone else been having

"You can't reply to this comment"?

Not only is it hard enough to understand what the fuck is going on in the comments, but now, at random, Youtube decides you can't reply to certain comments. And even worse, I tried commented - WHEN LOGGED IN - and it told me to "Sign in to comment!" ... I presume that this means Google+, in which case, fuck no. I made a username for a reason, and I made a Google Account for a reason. I made the G+ so I could connect to Roll20 games. I made my Youtube/Username so I had an identity, I had my account, my channel and more.

And now I must use my real name if I want to comment?! What the fuck!? It used to be bad enough spamming me every day to change it, but now it's required?! What? Please tell me this isn't true!

Please, go back to the old fashion. It's all "Most subscribers go first!" in the comments now, so that's fucked sideways.

It used to be "Linked Comments", if you go to a page to view a comment, then "Uploader Comments", so you know what the Uploader said, very helpful, then "Top Comment" usually good for a laugh or informing you of a big issue/thing with the video/comments, and then "Comments", which were done in order of earliest to latest posted.

That was PERFECT. It wasn't a forum, it wasn't a thread, it was a comment section. You do not need to turn it into a forum, like it seems they are trying, and failing, to do. Please stop.

Putting aside my dislike for their recent redesigns on YouTube's video font, layout, colour choice and overall goal to imitate Facebook, as a smaller YouTube channel (*cough* *cough*), I could appreciate the protection that the use of Google + would provide as it weeds out the trolls considering some of the nasty things i've seen. When I first started off, I had this one fellow who kept calling me profane words and saying my hair looked greasy, so I know what they're getting at. I could understand trying something new and providing us a better comment section and community... could, if that was the actual reason and didn't punish the entire community because YouTube has become too lazy and bloated to police its own site, much less other issues like the broken reporting system, the useless spam flagging feature that has been overly abused to silence those with an opinion, the broken subscription boxes and so on. In addition, many viewers don't appreciate the fact they are now required to use Google+ and use their real name. I've already written to YouTube personally and while I doubt I will make a difference, I do hope Google and YouTube reconsider the changes made to their comment system. The only way the YouTube community will become better is when we, content producers, commentors and yes, the sites creators, stand up, thrown down the gauntlet, call out and face these people rather than sweep the issue under the rug and expect things to go over well. They won't, I guarantee you, the vile of the YouTube community will not just go away because people have to use Google+. It will stay beyond that.

I appreciate the time viewers spend watching my videos and some of the wonderful comments i've received over my channel's lifetime, even after I abandoned it for over a year. To punish them because a bunch of 14 year-olds are spamming people with homophobic, sexist or profane use of words is not going to lead to a better community, just an angrier one. In short, i'm not happy about it.

Today Youtube tried to tell me something when I scrolled down to the comment section. Figuring is was another fucking downdate I just clicked ok without reading (if they're going to fuck me in the arse I really don't care what colour their strapon is). Now I can't see the comments at all. Anyone know what's going on?

Anyone else have the bug where a video won't buffer, only stream? I used to let a video load entirely before playing it, but now I can't do that, regardless of how good my connection is.
"Bug"? Oh, you slay me with your jesting, sir or madam. That is the New Order! That's not a bug, it's (in their eyes) a *feature*...

The only issue I have with youtube is the advertisements are sometimes over a minute long (sometimes SIX), and though you can skip them after 5 seconds when they are that long, you have to click it to do so. This makes watching youtube playlists like game grumps from my bed a hassle as I have to get up every 10 or so minutes to skip an ad. No, I don't use adblock for basically the same reason I don't use pirated movies, shows, or music. I like to help generate revenue for the things I like.

Aside from that, youtube is pretty easy. It really doesn't seem to be all that different from what it was a couple of years ago barring the more interlaced-with-google parts, which I don't mind since I am a big supporter or just about everything google does and I use a lot of their products.

Yeah it's been shit for a while but now it's even worse.

What happened to the comments? They don't even show up for me anymore.

The stupidest part is that they still haven't fixed all the extra whiteness on the screen if you have a large monitor.

I mean fuck, that shouldn't be a difficult thing to do, to center the stuff, but fuck me I guess
I think there's a Greasemonkey script out there to fix that, at least. Have a quick google around.

I only use Youtube through my mobile phone now. And that's only to add things to my favorites list to listen to later.

I hate the regular channel now. Sans a few comments here and there I want nothing to do to it.

Fuck Google for buying it. Fuck Youtube for accepting it and fuck Google again for forcing everyone to have Google+ integrated into everything they do on Youtube.

The only way they could get anyone to give a rat's ass about the stupid thing was to shove it down everyone's throat.

So i'm not the only one who's getting so tired of Youtube's bullcrap with Google+ being shoved down my throat?
..... I'm actually sorry about that. Wish it was only me, so that I could easily fix it since others wouldn't be bothered. But alas, we're all in the same boat with how awful everything's become with Google+.

OT: Comment sections usually aren't a big deal, but I DO love reading comments when they're related to tips on video games, or opinions on a manga review, let alone funny comments/jokes in relations to like Two Best Friend's Play. However, the comment section is gone and even IF I update my profile with Google+, it's still not there. The comment section doesn't exist!!

Also the whole layout is terrible. When you update to Google+, it has it's own profile fused with your Youtube's so you're not sure where to go like looking for the Inbox. It takes extra work and what's even worse is that I can't comment in the Discussion of Youtube User's nor comment in a Youtube video's section (did I forget to mention the comment section just vanished recently?)

What's worse is that when I remove the update, every few pages of browsing Youtube it harasses me with a UPDATE GOOGLE+.
So, so... so... tired of it. Sooner or later, this is going to backfire. People have limitations you know.
Please tell me how to get rid of Google + from your Youtube account.

Please. I can't fucking stand it.

There should be somewhere in your account management where you can disconnect Google+, I did that the very second I saw it was an option.

The downside is that you won't be able to comment or send any communications through YouTube without a Google+ account. Which affects me a lot given that I'm very active within the comment section and talking to (mostly) rational people.

It is simply because Youtube has no challenger, competition. They can do whatever they want but it will still be the go to site for videos for at least 1 billion people.

I agree the changes have been useless and broke the system. But they are just trying to find their bearings. They should just allow there to be separated Google+ and Youtube system. They want to be google+ which isn't that good really.

I think it's some sort of social experiment. Google is pushing its userbase further and further to see how far it can actually go before it loses its effective monopoly.
It seems they can push us really far, because so far I've seen no sign of the dam bursting. Sure, people have called for it, but their influence is limited.

Either that, or they really are just stupid for wanting YouTube to be things it isn't. But I like to think our internet overlords are a bit more intelligent than that. I mean seriously, they claimed the new comment system would lead to "meaningful conversations". Surely they must be taking the piss.

Google is eventually going to do something so stupid that they will kill the internet. On that day, the world will burn.

OT: Why the bloody hell is YouTube sorting comments by number of subscriptions?! That is one of the cheapest things I have seen Google do yet. It's like they've hired the most idiotic person in the world, asked them what features they'd like in YouTube, then implemented every single one without a second thought.

If it wasn't for the fact that I have a lot of subscriptions on YouTube whose videos I do not want to miss, I would boycott the stupid site.

Maybe Google will realise what they have done. Or, more likely, the entirety of the Sun will freeze over.

Meh,I care not for its comment sections and I never log in or like or subscribe to anything and so I care not about these changes, is it really that big of a deal for people? is replying to comments and comments in general something to get worked up about, I've never left one, maybe Im doing it wrong, forever lurking apparently.

Did flutter get a warning because they said they used ad block o_O, that's interesting, lets explore that for a bit.

Went there. Checked out the comments. Didn't see anything wrong with the changes. Then again, I don't really read YT comments. The only ones I even bother to skim are uploader comments and the odd one liner with 200+ likes.

They thought it would be a good idea to delete my avatar, subscribe me to channels I don't want to see and remove my inbox so that I literally have no way to replying to my comments and sending messages to my YouTube friends.

Oh, but they have a cutesy little bell creature so I guess that makes it all okay. (sarcasm meter explodes and pierces somebodies eye)
Argh, fuck, my eye! Now I can't even see the colourful box that tells me they're forcing me to use Google+ in some way instead of the perfectly functional and preferred system I had before!

But at least I can't see half of the 'shared this on Google+' comments.

Sure thing man.

1) Go to youtube.com

2) Go to the top right and click the little black arrow next to your Avatar.

3) Go under "Youtube Settings" on the left side of the options, because the right side is ALL Google+ stuff.

4) Where you see Account Information, there's an option that says 'Temporarily disconnect Google+ page, and use your YouTube username'. Click on it.

5) Press ok. It'll ask why. Say whatever reason.

6) Congrats. You've got rid of your Google+ from your Youtube account.

Sadly, it'll hassle you to update sooner or later just letting you know.
Thanks, but I only got the option to disconnect google+ and delete my Google+ profile. You were more helpful than you know.
