The guy seemed like a bit of an arsehole, to be honest, but credit where it's due, he had the patience to sit down and go through all those letters and numbers. I'd hate to have the same sort of paranoia though; I'd go through a game a hundred times scanning each and every piece of random information and testing it for secret codes. I'd never get any actual gaming done.

And when I finally got around Reznov's death, I learn he might still be alive. Now Treyarch ABSOLUTELY needs to de a Reznov-Price team-up mission.
Only if it leads to a climax where they stand back-to-back, gunning down baddies by the truckload with mounted machine guns as a nuke, hurricane, and lightning set the backdrop at the same time. And, of course, with very heavy metal music as well.

Women would faint from pure joy, men would instantly turn gay by the droves from the sheer awesomeness of the duo.

I haven't played Black Ops yet, but with this news, I just may have to. I always think it's cool when a franchise is able to link various plot lines of its games together.

If Reznov was playable on some DLC level of a new Zombie Map, but if anything Reznov was my favorite charcter in WaW and Blackops and any news with him still in the game is good to me. Hell.... for all we know there could of been plans to tie him in the MW franchise... >.> Somehow

*thinking*

Come to think of it; I remember during a level of Call of Duty: MW 1 when the SAS first meets up with the Russians there was a soilder named (if I spelled it right...) Dimitri Pertranko

o.0

But im Off Topic now so don't mind that last part.

IDK but it does add for one heck of a story

GO TREYARCH!!!!!
They may do that. According to the intel, the team that is to eliminate Mason will be lead by an up and coming SAS operative with the first name of Johnathan.

What a complete tool. Congrats on noticing that every level has a phonetic letter, and that they spell something plot-related. I noticed that Dead Space did the same thing - should EA send me a swag bag and put my name up in lights? Geez.

The internet age troubles me sometimes...

Pretty sweet, and cool of Treyarch to stick it in, only now everyone is going to be looking through every level with a fine tooth comb for clues for a great conspirisy,

Did you fail to recognize the air of humor about the entire video? This was a performance.

EDIT: ohnoes ninja'd
No I get that he was trying to be funny (I know he doesn't seriously expect gifts or anything like that), but I can't quite tell if he was serious about "scouring the internet" or "emailing IGN" about the matter, and so forth. It wouldn't surprise me either way.

Joking or not, the whole video is the equivalent of a "First" post.

Wow this guy is way over reacting, seriously there probably has been other people who found this but didn't say anything. Resistance: Fall of Man had secret morse code messages in it, so it's not like this has been done before in a game.

But "first!" posts literally only exist for their own sakes. This guy cracked this code, as simple as it was. Playing this pompous, somewhat awkward character was a decent way of communicating what is a pretty bland little secret.
Ah, but do either of us know him well enough to be certain that this "pompous, somewhat awkward" performance was indeed a character? I didn't quite get that impression. Seems more like a guy looking for some internet money, and here we are giving him his hypothetical dollars. ;)

While the code itself is fairly basic, which makes sense after all it's an ester egg (and generally developers want those to be found) not a state secret, having the pattern recognition skills to notice there was a code at all is rather impressive, after all knowing there is a code is the hardest part of breaking any cipher.

Good on this bloke, even if his voice annoyed me.

Awesome to see Treyach (correct my spelling please) adding the whole 'Black Ops' feel to it. Good work guys. But that just ruins it for everyone else who can't control their curiosity :p

Dude! Spoilers!

And finally, let's be honest. As simple as it was, who would have noticed it?

Edited it for you ;)

Really, CoD? Alpha-numeric substitution?

Master codemakers, you are.
You should look arounfd the call of duty wikia for all of the GKNOVA6 code deciphering. That small code is nothing comparded to the pre-release stuff they created.

This is a simple code really. Anybody paying attention and with any reasonable knowledge of the phonetic alphabet would be able to figure this out. That being said, most people don't have that knowledge, though you would think all that time spent playing MW would give people the idea that they know SOMETHING about the military.
