That was a lot of child molestation jokes. Kind of put me off to be honest. Other than that though, the review really crystallized what I have been hearing about the game. I think that I will avoid it.

I tried Kingdom Hearts, and then promptly threw the controller across the room when Mickey Mouse popped onto screen for more than a minute.
And so, when I saw that the game 'Epic Mickey' was coming out, I avoided the thought of even touching it. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald have always turned me off to any kind of entertainment that Disney provides, so I wouldn't play something where that oversized rat was the star of.
And what with Kingdom hearts? Why is Mickey suddenly EMO?! Don't get me wrong, KH had it's good points, it's just MICKEY.
He creeps me out. O_O
BUT, besides that point, I can understand wonky cameras and game dynamics, and that alone made me grateful I didn't buy the game.

Actually...with Kingdom hearts, I said something about Mickey Mouse I thought I would NEVER say about Mickey. After seeing him go Episode II Yoda on a bunch of Heartless, I found myself saying...

Ahh, Warren Spector. You tried so, SO hard to make a badass Mickey that would finally topple King Mickey of "Kingdom Hearts" fame off from his throne that it's no surprise the end results was all too laughable. In the immortal words of Chris Rock: "That's like playing a game of basketball with a retard and calling him out on a double-dribble". Still, my baby bro is a Disney-worshiping little nerdling, so I guess I'll get this for him for Christmas.

this game really got me hyped with the "darker" disney theme. But inevitably they had to make it into shit that wasn't even dark at all -.-
I admit, I've been more looking forward to this review than the actual game. 'Bout what I expected- rip the camera, rip Disney, rip the fact it's a third-party Wii game, rip the shoehorned Wiimote waggle, mention wasted potential.

Eh, I want to join in on the hate against the game, but something just keeps stopping me like something stopped Oswald from becoming the big star (Yes, here comes someone who LIKED the game)
I will admit the gameplay was way underdone, and the camera gave me headaches. Almost every sidequest forced you to look for stuff in the hardest places and the game made fun of me for ignoring them in the end.
But there was some kid in me the entire time going "oh, I remeber this from WAY back" and "wow, I cant believe oswald ended up getting shafted for Mickey."
There was some werid nostagia I never felt in a game, but it wasnt like in a new version of an old game, but my very childhood.... I dont know... its hard to explain.
Something stops me from hating it, even though it was much less a game but more like art to me.
Also, Why did oswald not end up famous!? Hes like my new favorite disney character....
But anyway, I think Im done opening up.... Back to my jaded hatred of everything!

awesome, I heard about epic mickey's epic failure and was waiting for yahtzee to tear this game a new hole. Great review, as always.
I wish this had come out before my brother got this game for my mom. She's only recently been converted to semi-nerdom and so she doesn't know how to wrestle the camera. She watched me fight the twin owls from Okami while the camera kept bunny jumping the auto-lock between the two and she said just watching made her head hurt.
It might have actually been interesting enough for me to pick up. This is sad because, while I own a Wii, I only have about three games for it. Yeah, three games. /sighdalek sec said:
