Yeah, he did realize how hypocritical it sounded, but said it anyway, likely for comic relief. We know this because his next post said so. However, you have no such justification. Clearly, the hypocrite here is you. We DO need his kind here, because otherwise the only people in the forum would be arrogant pricks like myself, and retarded arrogant pricks like yourself. So I hope there isn't a flying moose in his near future.
Oooo, yay, argument!

I would put forward the point that he only realised how stupid he sounded after writing it, hence the admission of hypocrisy being in a post after the original. Although I fail to see the real comic effect of a badly written piece whining about how much people like someone else, a point that would merely imply he was jealous of said popularity, and made himself feel better by making an insulting post about anyone who likes this symbol of envy. Retrospectively, he realises he sounds stupid, but rather than edit his original post, he makes a second one. This one is self mocking, an attempt to placate the people who just read the original post and are peeved at how someone who can't even spell feels justified to insult others.

Yeah, I must, say, the singing troll's argument is pretty weak already; it seems to me that he's searching desperately for a feasible way to avoid admitting he was overreacting and is way too serious about all this, and he's ironically doing this by showing us all how seriously he takes all this. People often say "quit while you're ahead," but I prefer the line "quit before you make an even bigger fool of yourself." If he's going to argue with both of us simultaneously, he also probably shouldn't be criticizing one's typing, as many, many people use web shorthand, and it really doesn't mean anything.

Tsk, come come, I put forward a perfectly reasonable point. I am much afraid that the defence "you're attacking me because you can't fault my points" is one oft used by trolls, but I feel justified in using it here. Why is my argument weak? All your post consisted of was agreeing with someone else who's only point was that I need to chill out and that the web isn't an English exam. Arguably perfectly valid points both, though since you have clearly decided I am a troll, that would surely weaken the first point since I was under the impression trolls merely are arses for their own amusement, as opposed to "overreacting and is way too serious about all this"; it seems you're making a single point compromised of two contrary statements. As to the English usage, while I will admit many people like to use shorthand as it is quicker, and I will admit we all muck up and make typos occasionally, I'd like to point out that "so what if it weren't funny to you other people may have" does not actually make any sense, and while shorthand is annoying, since you're really not limited in writing forum posts, being utterly incomprehensible is somewhat worse. There, see? I laid out your points and attacked them one by one. I believe that is how one works in an argument, as opposed to making slurs on your opponent's character while agreeing with anyone on your side doing the same. That would seem to me the more trollish behaviour, and would somewhat undermine your entire position?

Fantastic as always! Wed's are still a highlight of my week to know that I can come home from a very long day at work and watch the latest creation! Yet oddly the next day when I quote things from these wonderful reviews I generally get blank stares...odd seeing as it's a video games store! :) Although everyone understands the pain of Hour Glass - I like Zelda...I do...but like Yahtzee I did throw that game across the room, only by sheer chance did it not fall in the bin like it should have. Give me LTTP anytime instead of 'Tumor Heads' DS. Yet I digress from the train of thought I was on and appear to be rambling...:)

Right on another more relevant note, I'm a girlfriend of a gamer and a rather avid gamer myself, hell I'm even on a games development foundation course at the moment, which means I know my gaming stuff rather well. :) So I generally tend to watch these reviews for not only a laugh but also to inform myself about games that I may not play just yet due to being busy with all of the above so as to better inform my customers when they ask...Not at any point was I thinking about getting in your pants sorry to disappoint. :p

however i did not call you a troll god knows i didn't know what it meant till u came along and explained it so elequently i congratulate u in stating ur argument clearly but if u remeber ur original argument was about me telling people to get a life but in a more funny way and i also said that i was being hypicritical for effect and hopefully more laughs and to hopefully defuse any argument that would arrise it seems the latter has failed and surely calling some one a troll can be a different insult depending on a persons perspective altho i personally wouldn't call u a troll just merely someone who likes to argue till a point is no longer worth arguing about and both sides have forgotten what it was about in the first place as for this arguement i will not concede only agree to disagree i can see your point but can you see that some people may find it funny and or make that trip to the outside thats what this was all about and you do seem to be enjoying this.

Thank you good sir, you have made me grin! You have also earned innumerable brownie points by beating me with an argument using mainly short-hand, the irony in that does amuse me. Although I would defend myself that I did remember my original post, and was merely defending myself from the later posts that ignore it, but you are quite right that I would quite happily argue until we ended up debating the Vietnam war. Unfortunately I don't really see how the argument can progress from here, so I will stand down with a final Red Dwarf quote.

"Double check and mate, sucker."
"Oh yeah. I didn't see that."

"applauds" well done for conceding in that it takes an adult to do so altho the double check mate was unseen till too late lol altho red dwarf has never done it for me so i have no idea what ur talkin about but i can assume what happened anyway in conclusion arguments about silly things like this are not worth arguements over games and which is number one well its difficult to say coz everyones perspective is difference altho a few mindless masses would say gta but it sucks ffvii however rules not that i want to start another arguement lol can nay be arsed

"pulls out p90" double check mate this hehe

I did a BA in Archaeology, this game makes my eye twitch.
Though not as much as 300, I take it?

Rest easy. in GOW III they explain not only why they deviate so much from Greek Mythology, but also why we no longer live in a world of Greek Mythology.
300 not historically accurate? What, you never learned about fat men with razor arms in your history class?

It's funny that almost half of this thread consists of people saying "I hope he does GTA4 next week," the likelihood of which is somewhat slim. He did ssbb because he got so many emails about it that he got an imported copy, but I wonder if the same will happen with GTA4.

I learned that Xerxes never thought he was a god, that he was never defeated (opinion on the grounds for victory was divided) and that he liked to garden in my History class (he was one of my 4 main subjects for Ancient history in the H.S.C.)
Also that the Immortals weren't called that because they thought themselves unbeatable or never lost, but because they always had a replacement man for any fallen one, which meant they always had X amount of soldiers at any given time, giving the "illusion" that their forces were "immortal."

Historical inaccuracy was one of the main reasons I couldn't enjoy "300" as much as my friends did. But then again, like I (may have) said before, my friends all frequent weight rooms and watch UFC fights with the same fervor as some watch American Idol.

I don't get it, how can he like God of War and not devil may cry?
I'd go for there there 2 different games myself. Seriously though, there are numerous differences between the 2 games, too many to list here, and of course he'd going to like kratos more than dante. Kratos is Yahtzees mindset to everyone of the blithering idiots who en masse his inbox with requests, Dante is an emo ****. Primarily qualms with DMC4 wern't the combat, which is the only similarity I can see the 2 games have, combat and big bad guys... oh and orbs... lots of orbs. If I recall he commended the combat of DMC4 saying it was and I quote, "intuative". So in a very brief and hurried response thats why he can like GoW and not DMC. Different games, different story, different gameplay, lots of orbs.

A **** definetely, but emo? I associate emo with black hair and clothing, depressing music, and cutting oneself. Yet Dante, at least in the first one, was a self-assured smart-ass. I don't see what's emo about that?
