Eh, definitely didn't see this review coming. Give us Mirror's Edge or GoW 2 or something! Red Alert 3, even...

I'm disappointed you just complained about the instruments and songs rather then the game. Made it seem like a shallow review.
That is essentially the entire point of the game though, the part that makes it different from other games.
But there were so many little faults! Like how if one person fails, everyone fails immediately. Or how the Rock Meter is averaged throughout the whole band so you can't see who's really screwing up the most. Or how the Star Power is shared between everyone, so if one person sucks, the rest of the band suffers more then they should.

I have no real problem with singing, but I'm pretty brainless, so I guess the only things I actually could do would be singing and drumming :p

Unfortunately Stairway to Heaven will never be on any music simulation game, or at least not the master track, Led Zep have said they wouldn't feel comfortable with their songs in the game, and I can respect that. Its Not like they need the exposure.

Yeah... Yahtzee is definitely a closet jrpg/anime fan. He just concentrates too much on trying to make it seem that he hates them. :D

Finally, I was waiting for you to rip up this game. Honestly, I don't have much against Rock Band (But that's because I live in the USA) and prefer it over Guitar Hero 3, and definitely over World Tour. Maybe if the third game could live up to the caliber of its predecessors I would be able to enjoy it -_-. Anyway, I tried a demo of this and nearly hurled from all the faggotry packed inside (Korn? Linkin Park?! After the Tony Hawk games I thought Neversoft had great tastes in music but apparently I'm wrong!) and this is NOT something I want to waste my cash on. Considering 18 of what I assume to be 45~50 songs are already in Rock Band, World Tour is basically a complete ripoff it. And what's more is that Activision still has the balls to call themselves "Guitar Hero" after making the guitarist just another prick with a guitar. Lastly, it isn't even like playing a real guitar anymore! So the first ones weren't perfect simulations, but since when do you have to slide your fingers all the way up the neck every time you play a chord!? What Activision is to Guitar Hero is basically what George Lucas is to Indiana Jones. Sorry Guitar Hero. The first three games were fun, but I'm not even looking forward to your Metallica edition anymore.

By the way, Yahtzee. Stairway To Heaven is a great song and Led Zepplin may as well be the greatest band in the history of rock, but I don't think it would really work in a Guitar Hero game. Here's what I mean...

I was hoping for a L4D review. Oh well, can't have everything. Still amusing even though I've never gotten into games like Guitar Hero.

Stairway to Heaven: Very good question.

Actually, I cannot stand any of the Guitar Hero etc games, but my boyfriend loves them for some reason. I think I'd like them if they had more cool 80's songs.

PS: I WAS AT EGAMES MELBOURNE AND DID NOT WEAR A SWEET HAT.

Sigh ... I find it sad that Yahtzee, who seems to pride himself on not going along with the endlessly bleated opinions of gaming's many sheep, falls into the same trap of bashing DX2 because it's 'dumbed down'. DX2 streamlined the gameplay by getting rid of extraneous, pointless 'features', and provided an excellent and intellegent story that built and expanded on the themes of DX1.

The review was funny but I'm sick of him reviewing all the games that I couldn't care less about lol :p I need reviews of far cry 2 (which I hate) left 4 dead (Which is awesome) and call of duty 5 (not played it :p)

Even though I was heavily amused with this review, I just really hated how he accused Harmonix for delaying it and charging more money for Rock Band, because it's really EA publishing that caused all of this. If Harmonix had Activision, Rock Band would have been in Australia a year ago.

I really, really want him to review Rock Band, because I'm pretty sure he forced himself to somewhat like Guitar Hero: World Tour. I'd think that he would like Rock Band 100% better than this piece of crap.

Yes, a very intellegent story.
