Long time viewer, but I had to post for this. ZP this week was brilliant; laughed the whole way through. Cannot wait to see how you gut, tar and feather GTA IV.

Consider this: if nothing else, when your opponent strikes you, would you be at advantage to be close to an edge, or near the center? Being close to an edge gives you a much higher chance of being KO'd. Ignoring all other aspects of the game, positioning is crucial, and can't be done by random button pressing. Again- there is a huge hardcore crowd with smash brothers, look up some videos on youtube or something.

Well consider this: what you have just mentioned is esentially GRAVITY, an element of gameplay Nintendo did not invent. Not only that but take shooters, just because the shooter allows players to hide behind cover, does that mean the game is no longer a mindless trigger game? certainly not just because of the cover. Not only this but in brawl, whether in the center or not, you can always KO ur opponent by launching them into orbit, no matter where on the stage they are

Because I think there's something wrong with a game where you can spend 15 years learning every slightest nuance and still lose to someone randomly smashing buttons." People have tournaments for serious cash over this game, they play it like a job. Saying that it's a button masher just isn't true, no, it isn't opinion because an experienced and skilled player will always beat an inexperienced and unskilled player. Saying whether you think it's good or bad is an opinion.

Oh please! try having an inexperienced player play pit V inexperienced player playing, say, bowser. Pit will win the contest of effective button mashing and that is because the character, despite how everyone denies it, is more powerful. Yes if someone has more experience they will win! thats like saying Master cheif will survive longer than your average marine!

I still care about Melee, just as much as I care about every Zelda game made. Just because Brawl is the latest game, doesn't mean we should stop caring about the roots of that game.

On a side note, I advise everyone to listen to Cold War Kids. They're definalty different. Dont however listen to St. John and think shit, thats rather a weak song. If all else fails listen to Here comes the sun. John Lennon was a genius.

Heh I don't doubt that. I'm guessing this whole mess was some misinterpretaion of his words, like when he insulted the fanboys in his original review, most people assumed everyone who played the game are ignorant fanboys. Even so, the fanboys of the 360 and PS3 weren't helping with the "Brawl still shit" comments.

Why people were moaning about his reviews not giving scores bewilders me! If you want full game reviews, you go to one of the numerous dedicated gaming websites like IGN. I love watching Yahtzee's reviews, but purely as entertainment. I own several of the games he tears to pieces, but I don't feel like I have to try defend them by sending him hate mail!

...Not that Yahtzee will ever read (as we're now onto the 24th page of comments), but keep your vids coming! Love em ^^

Because they give legitimate reasons as to why GTA IV deserves a perfect 10, while Yahtzee does not.
