Especially loved the bit of the review where he mentions bad camera angle and other issues as part of what raises the 'difficulty' of the game and that makes it harder to criticize. Any long time fans of Silent Hill will recognize this as one of the popular arguments for why the shitty controls and camera in Silent Hill are actually advantages to the game's atmosphere. In fact, it's a fairly widespread belief among the players that Team Silent intentionally makes the game clunky so you feel as slow and useless as you probably would be in the real situation.

I wonder if Yahtzee was thinking of that while doing the review, as he is an admitted fan of the games (especially 2, which has some seriously fail aiming + camera).

yahtzee you paragon of insight,

how do you do it?

your reviews never cease to be brilliant, informative, and humorous

just about everyone here owes you a debt of at least one cornetto.

funny review Yahtzee, maybe a little on the harsh side though.
I didn't think it was harsh enough. I mean I liked the game, but it was TOO HARD. To the point that it wasn't fun. Even on the easiest level. It got easier near the later levels, then you get to fight the last boss, and he brought his lubricant. I just like to rant about the hard factor and would have loved to see Yahtzee really tear into that.

But that is what Ninja Gaiden fans expect and want. If it was easy it just wouldn't be Ninja Gaiden.

Hahahah - Silly aussies. It's 'Rit-uh-Lin', not 'right-ah-lin'

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize i was beaten to that punch.
And your tarring all of us with the same brush as Yahtzee cause..?

Yahtzee is not that indicative of Australians (no duh). A large portion of us understand that the people Nathan Drake were fighting were all Indonesians (and not "an assorted collection of Blacks, Asians and Latinos" - white supremacy indeed, he's just fighting pirates)
I don't know if you could call it TARRING...poking a little fun at the way a country pronounces a word? The fact of the matter is though, America is always right, and I feel obligated to point out to the rest of the world the error of their ways. There is no 'u' in 'color', 'ritalin' is pronounced as 'rid-uh-lin', and, unlike Australians, we never ever eat dogs. Unless you count communist pig-dogs. Like Australians.

Thank you! Finally, someone else gets the point.

Returning to the topic, why are there so many people who think ZP is going down hill? All of them seem to be totally unaware that stuff always seems less funny when the same style is used repeatedly. Sure the originality is lost, but it's just as good as it ever was.

Ps. I like it the way it is.

Yahtzee is getting ok again, after watching his older videos and his newer ones I've concluded that all he wants to do is rant rather then review these days. This review was a little more fleshed out then his previous 5, which is good. I enjoyed this, I didn't really burst out laughing like I did with the Zelda review, nor did I really crack a smile. I knew some of it was funny, but it was kind of boring this review.

That's just what I thought anyway, but he's certainly on the rise again.

I guess I would have to ask if you've played the games for the reviews you didn't find funny. There are a couple of games that I saw the ZP review for before playing them, thought the reviews were alright, but not great; then when I did get around to playing the games, the reviews were that much better.

Pirates are *clearly* the superior of both Vikings, Knights and Ninjas.

Anywho, stellar review, as always. I played the game for about an hour, and after my eighteenth death, I pretty much gave up.

If america is always right, then Earth shouldn't exist. I've never eaten a dog in my entire life, and i haven't ever heard of anyone in Australia doing so. They eat cats and dogs in China, is that what you were refering too? Why is your economy falling apart and ours is still up high hmm? We spell colour with a u in it, deal with it.

Please do you research and come up with more valid arguments. (Sorry to other americans but this post annoyed me)

Pretty good review. I'm wondering why Yahtzee has a tendancy to not link games to their previous installments though... He did it with DMC4, too.

On its own, NG2 isn't a bad game. But it's more glitchy than NG1, easier than NG1, and has less strategy than NG1, most of the bosses, while just as difficult, come down to either luck or getting in close and button mashing rather than the old waiting 20 minutes for an opening to show itself stuff.

I mean, I know you're meant to judge a game on its own merits and all that, but aren't you also meant to compare it to whatever bar's been set?

Also, Statik's right, Vikings beat down every other large, often violent group of people or objects that you can think of. Yahtzee should totally review Viking to save me the trouble of renting it, since it only needs one more nail in the coffin after all the other shit I've heard.

Not only are you a very poor troll, you've chosen a hopeless thing to troll on. England spells colour with a u. England, as the name may imply, was the first to put the English language into use. If anyone's allowed to go around calling people out on screwing up the language, it's them, and I'm pretty sure I know who they wail on more between Australia and America.
