I take it that ending, well... someone is going to be famous on the steam forums lol
Yahtzee never gave out a name. I wonder how many people are going to try to hunt him down anyways.
I already found him. I won't name and shame him here, but seriously it's really easy to find.

I think we'll all agree that unless you are able to construct your own large hadron collider whilst creating your own games engine and creating nanomachines which hunt and clean cancerous cells, you have no right to even use a PC, let alone play PC games.

Yeah, I'm glad I skipped this one. Rumor has it that the dimensions were Kim Swift's proposal for a new mechanic in Portal 2 (instead we got the liquids) and that caused the schism with Valve but dimensions would be a terrible idea for Portal since unlike the liquids they don't interact with the portals in a meaningful way.

Also low gravity, high gravity, antigravity and slow are probably the most boring modifiers I can imagine for the whole idea of "different dimensions".

I bet that person who made a post like that in the Steam forums will probably feel humiliated for acting all high and mighty with his/her post. Not everyone has a high powered computer that can play high quality games, let alone afford one.
You know what's even worse? When they tell you "then you're obviously too poor to DESERVE video games" when you bring up the fact that you can not afford to run the game.

Most PC gamers are like the elitist 1% -_-
Oh and there's the generalization we all love so much making you the biggest hypocrite who has posted so far. Congratulations to you. I'll see if we can get you a diploma as proof.

OT: OK, so this game seems interesting, but it seems like they made a lot of stupid choices here. Don't make a game demand you beat it without dying in order to get a 100% completion, this could make up for an extra challenge, but not as an important part. In games like this it's good to have a complete view of your surroundings so a third person view would probably be better. Always include options to adjust graphics so those with good computers can play it with the best graphics and those with bad computers can still get a decent framerate. I might check this game out if there's a sale, but right now I'm not convinced.

IF I say that Spec ops The line is like a third person shootter Silent hill , will that intrigue you ?
I doubt it. A tird person shooter Silen Hill sound like kind of a terrible idea.

Haha, the end was brilliant and it rhymed (I think). It's a shame, the game looked as though it had its heart in the right place but it just doesn't quite break the 'wow' barrier.

Can I have a video of just that last bit, because I, too, just sometimes want to tell people who think you have to do things to "deserve" to play video games should hush their terribly unpleasant mouths as well?

...Of course I wouldn't use it here, because that wouldn't be very respectful and to the escapist's code of conduct...
But I can at least think it, dammit! My mind is my own!

Suprisingly enough, a ZP review that's actually accurate. It's a charming game with some nice elements, but the platforming is annoying to all hell, the physics are mildly erratic and the whole thing is repetitive and same-y. I respect what the game is trying to do and I wish more games would try similar things, but that doesn't mean it's particularly good.

lol, I like the transition between Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor to Quantum Conundrum! XD It's almost like he was going to give the first game a full review, then switched at the last minute to something else.

Wait, the scientist is voiced by John de Lancie? As in... DISCORD FROM MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC? I MUST GET THIS GA- Oh wait, first-person platforming? I'll pass.

Using his videos to rage at people on forums...really Yahtzee? Granted, people like that are why I'm not really interested in getting into PC gaming but...really?

The assertions by the user Yahtzee mentions are why so many people don't want to play on the PC in the first place. I love PC gaming, but I do realize that far too often developers leave all the best things buried in ini files you can't get to without knowing what you're doing. Case in point, making Skyrim look better and run smoother at launch required you to patch the executable to use Large Address Aware (LAA) and modify the ini's to actually use the RAM most 64bit systems would have available. Or in Metro, the only way to even use it's amazing Global Illumination lighting to was edit the ini files.

Unfortunately, naming and shaming will probably not work in this case. Such an individual will probably take great pride in being insulted by Yahtzee.

I understand that it was kind of childish, but that rhyme at the end was the funniest thing I've heard all week. Then again, I'm probably not going stand up when an idiot who says something like "You shouldn't be PC gaming if you don't have a high-end PC/can't tweak .ini files" get's ridiculed.
Great review, as always.

The week after reviewing a game voiced primarily by Twilight Sparkle, incidentally.

The only thing I disagree:

Platforming in First Person is not hard. At all. It is as easy as everything else. But maybe this is just my expirience of 12y PC gaming talking.

On the game: I like it quite a lot and several things were already patched (settings and such).
I agree, Mirrors Edge was easy and fun too. Maybe it's because I grew up with platformers, but if you're immersed in a game, you can kind of feel your feet anyway.

EDIT: Read the guys post, Yahtzee seemed to leave out a lot. The guy isn't that terrible, and has a point. If you don't have minimum required specs then you really can't play the game. It doesn't matter if you deserve to or not. It's like owning a Lamborghini, it's fast and looks great, but not a lot of people can afford it, and we're (mostly) fine with it. We buy a car in our price range.
And the second part is he says "...if your computer cannot play this title, I cannot see how you can be a PC gamer? I can't imagine what games you can be playing."
And that's true. I've stopped playing on PC because I can't afford a new one, so I buy games for my PS3. Honestly if you can't run modern games then what HAVE you to play? I guess he could have said they aren't "current" PC gamers. But meh, there's my opinion.

what!?!? guys come on, that ending was really out of place. its like using the good ole line "F-- me", "F-- you"

WTF yathzee, no amount of forum teenagy insult should remotely transpire into the paid work of a professional journalist. especially that you have access to such a wide audience, its like promoting a pissing snotty attitude when someone takes a poke at your ego.

I know it accounts only for a few seconds in there but that "smooth" finish really hurts the review and makes for a lasting impression.

I visit this site for its reviews and gaming news in general. i tend to like your reviews and have been enjoying them for a long time. But with reviews like this one, my opinion is that i worry where you are taking your brand when you equally promote a form of negative elitism similar to what the anonymous guy on steam got fired upon for as i understand. its one thing to take a whack at a product, a game or even a company and its quite another to use your podium to take a whack at an individual which, we know now, can be traced back and identified.

I know that if i don't like it, i can just go elsewhere, but the point of my comment today is to point out how from a reader's perspective, this specific review has, not lacked in quality, but lacked in "edits".
