Great review but he missed very huge parts of the game, like maybe the multiplayer. to me the multiplayer balances out the downfall of the single player. also wheres the rant about the uslessness of the wrecking crew variant of the game.

Someone doesn't know Yahtzee very well. He hates multiplayer and frankly with more games having the same online functionality as everything else I sympathise (sp?)

Oi, Red Faction 1 wasn't bad. In fact, I really enjoyed it.
Played it on the PC, though, maybe 'twas worse with console controls.

Overall, I enjoyed your review a lot, though. I especially liked the return to a slightly slower pace and quieter (but more snarky) approach. A few of your latest reviews seemed to mostly constist of growling obscenities very loudly, so I'm happy about this return to old form.

I am quite surprised. I mean does anyone else feel like he really got revenge against Red Faction? Becuase I sure don't.

Awsome referance to an obscure David Bowie song at the end there Yahtzee.

Also very nice to see you did this, given the advertising they did on the Escapist (even going so far as to have a badge) it's nice to see that they still let you critique them in your own unique and wonderful style.

David Bowie did a song called "Green Spiders From Mars". I thought Yahtzee's last text comment about wanting to for mars, but hearing about all the giant spiders up there, was a lot funnier than the Gueriella/Chimpanzee pun. But I guess it's a bit too dated, you sort of had to be listening to David Bowie's music about the time he played "The Goblin King" in Labyrinth.

Hmmm, well as I've said twice now I thought it was a referance to a David Bowie song. BUT then again part of the point is that it can refer to a number of things hence why he keeps hearing about them.

Still, given that I do remember when David Bowie was popular, but was too old to see much of "Biker Mice From Mars" it probably explains why I would think of Dave before more recent referances.

I'm not entirely sure if my ears were working correctly but it sounded like Yahtzee actually reviewed this game! In his own way of course. I'm not sure if he was getting some stick or something but have the last few ZP's been a bit more 'content' filled? I mean to me they seem more like theyre telling you something about the game rather than just filling 3 minutes with hilarious sideswipes at the game in question (Sims3 excepted of course), like earlier ZP's used to be. I was starting to get bored of ZP a couple of months ago but the last few have rekindled my passion =)

that's the song i was referring to: Ziggy Stadust and the Spiders from Mars, and then as i was writing that, i remembered that messed show, and decided to throw that in for lulz
