Poida12, I suggest you check out his site fullyramblomatic.com : P

There's variation for ya.

"You hear the people yahtzee - they want something different! You've never reviewed a football managment sim now have you?"

HAHAHA : D That would not be anything even resembling a review, it would be a long string of curse words ^^

"Umbrella Chronicles is a heavily cut-down retread of three of the major Resident Evil games, starring Johnny Bravo, a prostitute, an idiot, a mullet, a nine-year-old boy, a brick shithouse, and Carlos." - I love that line!

I think once you've set up a fairly clearly definied series, you're constrained by those definitions and at any rate suddenly changing is going to alienate some fans. There's neither any need or point for it to change simply because it's not The New Thing anymore, but there's no reason why he shouldn't be doing other things with his life and taking it less seriously than the people who watch his output.

Seriously though, I've started to find mullets attractive.

"I reserve wanking off in my face for closest friends and Valve employees."
Classic, that ending had me dying. Yahtzee, you've done it again. I salue you.

Every time I play RE: UC I find myself screaming "BUT THAT'S NOT THE WAY IT HAPPENED!!!!!"

:(

fun game though. it's actually not thoroughly mongled by playing with the Wii Zapper (I tried RE4 with the Wii Zapper, it's brutal, Lego Star Wars with the Wii Zapper is highly amusing).

Why did you have to ruin it? You are the first person to say anything bad about this review.

In fact, with your SOSS comment (and lack of anything about the actual review) I wonder if you even watched it at all. About the only thing the same about this review and his earlier ones are that Yahtzee talks fast and hates the game (and maybe that censored portion). I don't think he's ever pulled off that many culture references. His Captain Planet stuff literally makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Anyways, if you actually did watch the review, then I don't know what it would take to "improve" it for you. Maybe if he talked slower, liked the game, and just wasn't Yahtzee? Wait! that gives me an idea: if you don't like his shtick, GO WATCH SOMEBODY ELSE!!!
I did watch the review but i admit my comments weren't about the review itself but rather about Yahtzee's lack of progression as a writer. You can't simply do the same sort of thing every week and expect people to continually lap it up like it is new and brilliant. yahtzee has a basic style which consists of, of course, having no punctuation. That is the bit that gets you in but outside that he has a lot of room to move. He knows he wants to be funny and that's great too but there are lots of things he could do that are funny. But he doesn't take advantage of this room to move and instead plays it safe and simply uses thre same basic comedy formula repeatedly. I am beginning to find his jokes are a little cut and pastey like Famnily Guy. Family Guy has every episode built on a basic plot woth lots of 80's references and that is virtually it. It is still funny but gradually less funny as a season progresses. That is why they will ocassionally go left field and surprise the viewer with something completely new and that is why it remains fresh and current. Yahtzee is funny, yes, but where i used to laugh out loud at everything he said now i just smile or ocassionaly snigger. I'm used to his humour and i imagine a lot of the rest of you are too. I will continue to watch of course because the reviews themselves are frank and informative and focussing on the negative which is handy these days but i wont be watching them as much for the humour any more unless they get funnier.

If you are having trouble getting what i am saying go listen to Steven Wright's standup. It is hilarious at first but quickly becomes grinding. It is the same basic joke again and again - strange observation about mundane reality. That is what i am trying to get across here. If that doesn't work try Stephen King. it is the same basic horror story with slight variations. He is riddiculed a lot for that in mainstream culture and Yahtzee is heading down the same path.

And i cant stress enough that i do like Yahtzee and will continue to watch, just for a different reason - quality review rather than fun comedy. I am merely pointing out a problem i perceive which may make people stop watching as time goes on.
I'm actually gonna have to agree with this. Except for the bit about Steven Wright, because he's brilliant. :p

I do love Yahtzee, but it's the same fast-talking Internet Tough Guy type attempt at comedy that populates everything from Newsires, to Youtube, to game reviews. The only difference is that Yahtzee actually gets it right most of the time.

It was my email which convinced him to review Cod4.

I emailed yahtzee. saying that it is a better shooter than halo 3 but deserved to be stripped of its "shooter of the year" title, as its single player is pretty bad.

I also said there is a guy with the same hat as yahtzee...which probably won him over...if you would like the origonal email....ill be glad to post it.

Yahtzee didnt respond to my email...and 5 days later left me that message in his review...

Hehe... genius as usual, Yahtzee. I think I'm going to go buy this now... which would make it the second game you've convinced me to buy (Psychonauts, Xbox version, being the first.) By the way... does Trauma Center fall on that list of games that the Wiimote is appropriate for? (I won't bug you about it [read: this is the only time I'll ask], but just as a suggestion, why not take a look at something like Trauma Center next time?)
As for the question, "Why a rail shooter?"... well, why not? Then again, you're talking to someone who loves the Time Crisis series (and anything that even remotely resembles it) and has in the past considered getting a Guncom 2 and a copy of the Time Crisis console version, so maybe I'm not qualified to talk about rail shooters... Meh. That line about Valve employees was hysterical, though. Classic...

Hmm, I think yahtzee should do some more research.
He is right about EA if he is referring to NFS or FIFA (or a lot of other sport/racing games) but does he realize that EA also makes a lot of other games? For instance, if you play one of his favorite games (actually game pack) The Orange Box, you MUST notice that there is a big orange EA logo at the very start of the game, so that includes PORTAL. EA are also the ones who made Crysis, and are currently working on a few games that seem like they will be awesome. Just look up Army Of Two and Mirror's Edge.

um.... Actually Ea Published them. Crytek developed Crysis, and EA published it. Same story with The orange box. Valve made the Orange Box, and EA published it.
