I was playing some RE4 (Resident Evil 4) and killing me some zombies.. when i suddenly started wondering, why is it that there in many zombie games is scattered ammo around in weird places, and why zombies that dont use guns carry ammo with them? Have all zombie-towns been some crazy shooter-village before the zombie apocalypse came. Or what do you think, why do zombies carry ammo and why is the shit scattered all over the place? ;)

But you COULD fall back on wrestling moves, severed hands, giant lipstick tubes and precious precious diamonds.

I would love to play a zombie game that doesn't give you guns.
It would add a new survival element to the survival-horror genre.

I think that zombies might infect you if they infect your bloodstream.

It's simple, why zombies carry ammo without guns.

1. A guy starts shooting with a gun. He has a lot of ammo.
2. Zombie bites his neck.
3. Guy drops the gun and still has his ammo in pockets.
4. You shoot him, ammo falls out.

Just like in real life, shooting a peasant gives you health and ammo. It's just physics dude.

I would like to play a zombie game where you have only one limb, a cat (The breed of which you decide obviously) and a smidgeon of glue. The numbers tell me this is what I want.

This is like asking where wolves carry whole, cooked turkeys and bags of gold.

Idea that will make me very wealthy:
How about a zombie game where you have to use your environment instead of heavy weaponry.
e.g.
Throwing stuff you find? snapping off a piece of wood or picking up a bit of pipe and using that as a weapon? a boomerang? a gun with limited ammo, which afterwards you can just throw at them? swords? knocking zombies off high buildings?

Or perhaps a game that makes you find your own guns/weapons. Maybe even weapon upkeep/maintenance. Sure it gets annoying but if we are going for a survival/realism element, well...

A Wizard did it.

I think that's just one of the game-play mechanics you're not suppose to question, just accept.

Like in Fallout 3 why did some office workers keep 5mm minigun rounds on their office drawer next to their coffee mug?
I swear that in one house I found a rocket in a bedside drawer. I can only guess that it belonged to the wife...

It is stupid, and I've often wondered about random ammo pick-ups myself, but without them the game would probably be a lot harder, like if you only found ammo in gun lockers etc.

You know what the zombie-slaying genre needs?
1: a game that features all of the anxiety producing zombies in history, eg: regenerators from RE4 (I'll seriously never get over them...), necromorphs from Dead space, etc...
2: Implementing the gameplay from Condemned into this, but reducing the guns to only when very needed.
3: Get the storywriters from Silent Hill back into work for the story
4: Implement a very well balanced multiplayer system, like the one seen in Left 4 Dead, or Nacht der Untoten if you really push me (is that how you spell it)
5: Sell billions
6: Make people happy
7: Rule the world
I know I'd enjoy something like that, would you?

I mean, Its a Xombie game. Its not very logical.

Simple: zombies carry ammo cause that's what was on them when they died, and the ammo in weird places is from when people died there.

its suspiciously convenient. but then again that "on them when they died" idea works too i guess
