I highly recommend this video. There are couple of things I disagree with Shadows on:- The more obvious call backs to Resident Evil don't hurt the game, nor are they distracting. He is more so referring to the white, sterile labs you come across in late game. They are there for a reason. Most people didn't have a problem, and a majority of RE fans loved it.
- Mobius being too much like Umrbella, I somewhat not on the same page. Yes, they're a copy, but not one-to-one. I am glad the Evil Within 2 took the option of killing all of Mobius via exploding microchip in brain. Takes care of all of the loose ends, and puts the corporate conspiracy arc to rest. EW2 has major balls for doing that, and is one up over RE.
- If they put alot of side quests in later chapters, it would have grinded the pacing to a halt and intererupted the main goal. Plus, it makes sesnse their are less side quest the further you go. STEM is breaking down, Sebastian is getting closer to his goal, and finally, nearly everyone is dead by that point in Union anyway. It's no different than what's been done in past RE titles. You see a few or encounter a few sruvivors, and the further you go, the less you see of them. He kinda agrees, but makes me wonder why even bothered complaining in the first place. The other thing he seems to forget is that Sebastian still has his personal trauma quests, and there's plenty of hidden Easter eggs that fill the void.
- I consider Evil Within 2 better than Resident Evil 7.
