Fuck me sideways, why are they porting the god ugly Wii version.

At least get the PS3/X360 version.

That looks fucking horrible.
The Wii version has the best gameplay, while PSP version is the most content rich and is based off the Wii version with some minor cuts. The PS2 version is the worst, because it's so bare bones. So be happy it's not a port of that one. The HD version, while better looking, has not aged to well with its combat. The boss battle being even worse though and a lot of them boiling down to the same strategy or being buggy in one case from what I remember. I get your frustration, but if I am going to pick just one, I rather it be the game with better and more engaging combat.

Yeh, aside from just being good fun platformers, it'll not doubt be the most affordable way to play them. Cuz Klonoa 2 is not too bad, but the Wii version of 1 is pretty pricey, and let's just not talk about the PS1 og.
I know the PS2 sequel has gone up in price, but the Wii version is so expensive, because it bombed. I'll just pre-order the game on Switch since it comes with both games that will be in HD.

"Oh Thaddeus, how ever will we find a way to make our games more hollow and exploitative than they already are?? We've used every last dirty trick in the book, there's none left. None, Thaddeus!"

Zynga, maker of Farmville and Words with Friends, plans to expand its team making games centred around the blockchain and NFTs to a studio-sized amount by the end of the year.

This means as many as 70 to 100 staff will be working on such titles, Zynga blochain boss Matt Wolf told Axios. Hiring is now ongoing, including for a position titled "tokenomics designer".

A project designed from the "ground-up" to be dedicated to NFTs will be launched "sooner than later", Wolf continued.

Game teams will be able to opt out of building NFT games, Wolf said, and existing Zynga franchises will be kept separate.

The aim here, though, is clear. Says Wolf:

"When they enter into one of these products, they come at it from an investor or, a whale, point of view and are interested in specific elements, including yield."

Last month, Take-Two, owner of Borderlands publisher 2K and Grand Theft Auto maker Rockstar, announced it would purchase mobile games giant Zynga for around $12.7bn.

At the time, it was set to be the most expensive video games acquisition of all time - until Microsoft's enormous $68bn Activision Blizzard buyout announcement.

Revealing its plan, Take-Two said it would leverage Zynga's development skills to create mobile games based around existing IP. As well as Borderlands and GTA, Take-Two also oversees NBA 2K, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock and Mafia.

At the same time, Take-Two said it was also keen to use Zynga's knowledge of mobile gaming to "drive free-to-play synchronous cross-platform ambitions" in products from its existing internal studios.

I did not see that coming. I'm surprised Telltale has anybody left at this point. I just hope nobody's going through crunch again just to make this product happen. I also thought they went out of business.

This isn't the same TellTale.

TellTale went out of business in 2018, whilst making The Walking Dead: Final Season.

Some other company bought a lot of TellTale's assets, and revived the studio - name intact. For all intents and purposes, this is effectively a brand-new company, though some of the original company's employees were offered positions.

Hopefully this new TellTale doesn't fall victim to the same issues as the old company.
Some info from the wiki -
Upon Telltale's revival by LCG Entertainment, The Wolf Among Us was one of the titles reacquired by LCG, but no announcement was made at that time about the sequel. The company announced The Wolf Among Us 2 at The Game Awards 2019. The sequel will continue events after the first game, though still remain as a prequel to the comic series.

The game is being developed in association with AdHoc Studio, formed by former Telltale Games staff, who will focus on the game's narrative and cinematic elements while Telltale will implement the gameplay and other designs. In addition to returning Telltale staff, Harrington and Yvette will return to voice Bigby and Snow White, and Jared Emerson-Johnson will compose music for the game. The game is being developed on the Unreal Engine, and will be released in an episodic approach. This sequel will be worked completely from scratch, using none of the ideas and initial work that had been done under the former Telltale banner before its closure.

Unlike the past development cycle approach at the former Telltale where each episode was developed in a standalone fashion, all episodes of The Wolf Among Us 2 are being developed simultaneously.

The Chrono Cross Remaster is coming to PC and PS4 on the same day as the Switch releease too.
Shame the pre-rendered stuff look kinda bad tho. Like the remastering is just a neural network ai upscale of the final ingame backgrounds with no touch-ups, resulting in this undefined and ropey look, instead of using the original renders. Knowing Squenix tho, it's because they lost those higher res assets years ago.

Kinda got lost in the deluge yesterday but there was an action RPG SD gundam game announcement. I'm disapointed that its SD, and I'm 99% sure its gonna suck, but that didn't stop me from getting like 250 hours into SD gundam crossray so I'm sure that'll suck me in too.

I kind of want to give Chrono Cross another try after I gave up on it as a kid. However i have a hard time getting too eager to play remasters when there are so many new games coming out that i would rather sink my time into.

In us euro folks case, we never got Chrono Cross, so we previously had no choice but to import from the US, which is just a pain (and costly nowadays with all the additional tarifs). Like a lot jrpgs on SNES and PS1. Least we can boast Terranigma.

Honestly... terranigma was better. They're both great game, but terranigma is really interesting and fun to play and the only things CC did better is the soundtrack (terranigma soundtrack is merely very good to CC amazing OST). CC is also very interesting, but a lot of what it tries to do fall flat, plenty of recruitable character, but almost all are one note and disapear from the story after their little arc (if they even have one). The two world aspect wasn't utilize as fully as the time travel of chrono trigger and just made thing extremely confusing if you stop playing the game and tried to get back in.

I wonder what the toggle setting for "original" graphics will be, or how accurate that claim is. The image shown makes it look like a run-of-the-mill mobile shovelware title.

Yeh, looks quite low-effort and shoestring budget, tho that feels like Squenix' standard M.O. for anything that doesn't have Final Fantasy in the name, and even then.
