"If only"? So you genuinely believe gender-affirming medical practices, including reversible hormonal ones, should be banned?

If so, then there's nothing much more to discuss, it's just sheer fucking prejudice.
This is what happens when your politics is "owning the libs". Somebody says "look at this terrible thing" and the response is "They aren't (lie), but I wish they did" as if it's a refutation somehow

I still haven't seen a single post about why anyone should vote for the Democrats. I think overall Republicans are a bit worse than Democrats, but why would I vote for them? Just because they aren't quite as bad as the other guy? You guys won't even give Republicans an ounce of credit for anything; everything they do and say is completely wrong and evil. Yet you have a minority like the Black community doing a reverse migration to the South because they have more opportunities there yet the Republicans are nothing but white supremacist racists that hate everyone that isn't white.

The Republicans may be driving us to a cliff at 100mph but the Democrats are doing the same thing just at like 95mph so why would I vote for them?

How many times do I have to post the quote from Don't Look Up for you all to understand? You're doing the exact thing that they, Democrats and Republicans, want.

There's three types of American people.
There are you, the working class.
Us, the cool rich, and then them.

Looks like I found my breaking point. You want to believe teenagers just get HRT for the lulz, go ahead. I won't see any reply you make to this, or any of your other posts for that matter. You live in your world, I'll live in mine, there's no convincing either of us that we are mistaken. Hope you have fun with this discussion with the others. It's an A and B discussion, and I'm C'ing my way out.
You said that you're 33 and figuring out your gender, but the suggestion that teenagers aren't capable of serious, long-term decisions is your breaking point? You're not even living in your own world.

They apparently are capable enough that if one gets pregnant, you'll force them to carry to term and care for an infant.

You shouldn't fix your eyes on it, you should leave it. The republicans are basically committing climate suicide like Australia.

Somebody else can care for the infant, but thank you for the example of teenagers making spontaneous decisions without consideration of long-term consequences.

Oh so you want to tear babies from their parents now? How very Christian of you.

Sometimes, yes. All reasonable people want to take children away from their mothers in some circumstances, if that is what it takes to protect and care for the children.

"Sometimes" being "all teenagers".

How is telling people to vote them all out of office fencesitting? Saying they both fucking suck is fencesitting? You do realize you can vote for more than 2 people, right?

I'm not going to automatically think everything someone says is wrong just because most of what they say is wrong; they are wrong when they are wrong and right when they are right. Both democrats and republicans are right about some things and wrong about most things. That's what you call fencesitting?

Like the one article I posted from a New York Times (leans left obviously) Pulitzer winning journalist, the US is a one-party state, that's the tricked they pulled. Nothing's gonna happen if say every single election goes to the Democrats and they have no Republicans in "their way". It's still gonna be status quo, no public health care and whatnot. Of course, at that point, people will probably finally realize what's up. That's why the Democrats need the Republicans so they have their "heel" and can blame them for not getting that thing they said they are for but really aren't for through Congress. That's what the quote from Don't Look Up is all about.

The quote from Don't Look Up... ONE MORE TIME...

Placebos are notoriously good at improving people's perception of their health, yes. Especially with children, who have nearly 100% success rate being treated by a kiss on the booboo.
OK, so you either don't know what a placebo is, or don't know what is meant by gender-affirmation.

To clarify: hormonal treatments, and other medical practices to bring biology in line with gender identity, have a high success rate. They improve quality of life, reduce suicide risk, and return a high satisfaction rate. Researchers, practitioners, and the trans community agree.

On the other hand, sheer denial and refusal-- your approach, from the sounds of it-- has a fucking atrocious impact. You can't pretend you give a toss about protecting children.

I didn't even come close to saying that. You're so intent on handing back hot takes you transformed "we don't have to force people to raise unwanted children, other people can raise them" into "we have to rip children out of their mother's arms based on a single variable."

Self-acceptance improves quality of life, reduces suicide risk, and returns a high satisfaction rate... yes. If people are convinced gender-affirmation will allow them to accept themselves, you will see exactly the result you describe.

No. You know what have a fucking terrible success rate? Approaches and therapies that focus on trying to convince trans teenagers that their gender identity is mistaken, and they must just accept their biological sex as is. These lead to higher rates of depression, suicide, and mental illness.

What you're misleadingly describing as "self-acceptance" is just denial and the imposition of someone else's notion of identity onto others. The only reason you're touting it is your own personal, prejudicial ideology, nothing to do with the kids themselves or any scientific/medical basis. And it doesn't work.

My post was describing gender-affirmation treatments. You're accidentally trying to argue against yourself.

No, I'm not. What do you imagine gender affirming treatments are?

Well if your response to resolving teen pregnancy with "teens are untrustworthy" is to point out that the teens don't have to raise the children, then you must be advocating that no teens raise children. Which is to say, taking their kids away.

Any of a broad collection of actions that seek to closer match a person's body and appearance to their gender identity, so that they might be accepting of themselves.

You accused me of forcing teens to raise children. When I said other people can raise the children, you accused me of forcing teens to give up their children. Do you not even imagine a world where you're not forcing things on people?

Oh I easily imagine a world where I'm not forcing things on people. It's one where neither abortions nor sex reassignment are banned. You're the one with worldviews requiring force.
