Super Cyborg allows you to choose one of two different models of your player character, and customize all the colors you want, and the color of your gun. Each weapon has its own dedicated charge shot. The game is basically an advanced version of Super C.

The people behind the House of the Dead Remake truly care about this game and huge super fans. They had to do the entire remake from scratch, because Sega lost the original source code from the arcade hardware years ago. Sega did not help Mega Pixel with the game, other than funding. That said, there are a few unique changes to cut-scenes for the better. Rogan and G move more like action heroes compared to the original.

The resistances of Rune Factory 5's townspeople.

In the game you can take townspeople along with you to fight in dungeons once you're friendly enough with them and they all use different weapons and have different stats depending on what kind of fighter they are. They also have elemental resistances that make sense based on their character. Hina and Julian are just kids and so they have no special resistances, Martin works as a smith so he has fire resistance, Heinz works in a shop that sells crystals and magic so he has a resistance to all elements, and Ludmila is a succubus and both has the highest resistance to something, 50% to darkness (Everyone else maxes at 25% at most) and is the only one with a weakness, which is to light.

Such a nice and fun little detail that they didn't have to do.

Just finished Psychonauts and getting started on the numero 2 and while the first one has its rough patches it charm shines through. The main one was Clairvoyance ability which did not get much use gameplay wise in the first one. It basically allows you to see through the minds eye of other NPCs and all of them see Raz in different ways. Like I love Sasha seeing Raz as a younger version of himself, Mila he is a baby considering her backstory makes sense, Lili seeing him as prince charming is adorable and Oleander seeing nothing but a brain was some nice foreshadowing.

The second map in Vampire Survivors, the Inlaid Library, has red banshee enemies that try to get close to you before exploding. One of them appears right at the beginning of the map when it basically can't pose any threat to you because there's no other enemies for it to drive you towards, showing you that they're a thing you need to look out for later on, rather than taking you completely by surprise once they do start showing up along with other mobs.

Along those same lines, in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, each character has what is called a "budding talent". It's not something they start out naturally good at, but if they put enough focus into it, it becomes one of their specialties.

Well, I say that's the case, but there are several characters who don't have a Budding Talent. One of them is Linhardt. Why doesn't he have a Budding Talent? It's probably because he's the epitome of Brilliant, but Lazy. Unlocking a budding talent would require focus, which is just something that Linhardt doesn't have. Other characters without budding talents include Caspar and Raphael (both of which could be considered too narrowly-focused character-wise to branch out enough to find any hidden talents).

The other thread started talking about games that give you a lot of hair and face customization, then completely ignore it as soon as you put a hat or helmet on, if they don't completely remove all the effort you put into that character. And it reminded me of an option in the more recent Monster Hunter games; at least since World, though it might have been in Generations Ultimate as well. In those games, you have the option to make your helmet invisible. You can still wear one and get the benefits from it, but it won't block your view of your character's face and hair that you spent hours making. Or if you want to see that fancy helmet, you can do that as well. Not just the ability to see your character's head, but the option to see it or not, is a pretty cool level of effort.

More fun with Rune Factory 5. So sometimes in Rune Factory, you'll get typhoons hit your town, nasty stuff, if you don't prepare your fields then it can destroy your crops. Anyway, the typhoon will last the whole day with wind, rain and noise, and while townspeople will try to go about their normal business for the most part, they'll run from building to building any time they need to leave their houses and won't stay outside.

Now for the fun thing, I just found one character that doesn't do this, Elsje. Elsje reluctantly runs the restaurant in town but she's a lazy kind of character that would rather laze about all day and do nothing (Though she's still a really good cook and when she does decide to try at something, she's ferocious), and so I was running around during a typhoon and ran into Elsje calmly walking to the restaurant from her house as if nothing were amiss. She's too lazy to care about a typhoon raging around her. Fantastic!

Yet another one from Rune Factory. Reinhard's design.

It's not immediately obvious, it took me some time of seeing him before I noticed, but he's got a design that combines that of a Japanese samurai with that of a European knight.

In Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the three playable ladies all have the old school brawler completive balance. Momiji is the Jill of All Stats, Rachel is the Mighty Glacier, and Ayane is the fragile speedster. A decent thing about their chapters is that they have some interesting smack talk to the demon bosses they fight. Mainly Rachel and Ayane. It ain't DMC level of smart assery, but the attempt is nice, and makes them stand out from Ryu.

This ending.

Yes, it's an NSFW game, but the message of this ending is more interesting than the adult content. Basically, the girl is the only survivor of a war that wiped everyone else out. If you look at my thread the end of humanity via conventional war is a possibility, but an unlikely one. As someone with a number of friends in the mid-single digits, I am always lonely, but I can go out, and get some bubble tea, ramen, a good milkshake, or some Mcdonald's fires. This girl has no one to interact with, I mean sure you can explore, but it will get lonely. It's also a fear of mine that after I die a VR headset ends, and I look around, and I am the only one.

Or you get abused by Timothy Spall who criticises all your gameplay choices.

Kinda reminds me of how Conker's Bad Fur Day ends. That was a pretty downer ending for a comedy platformer.

"I am sending my right hand after you"

"Your right hand comes off?"
Oh, I didn't realize Mr. Kennedy had copyrighted that style of humour.

And honestly I had to read it twice before I realized he meant he had few friends rather than young friends. To me, 5 friends seems like a lot. I'd hate dealing with that many people, and I'm not lonely at all.
