Sometimes truthes gotta be told.

Of course, should this miracle cure for death be found, it will be priced out of range for anyone but the ultra-rich. Like that guy!

You'd think if they thought they'd live forever they'd be taking better care of the dirt ball they live on
"Naw, we'll just leave you suckers behind and go live on a new one!" sez Elon Musk. "Good luck storming that fence!"

Lmao, nerds starting faking ArcSys support emails to "prove" Bridget isn't a trans girl
Putting the "phobia" in "transphobia". They're that terrified of trans people being normalized, all because they're scared of reaching under a skirt and finding a sausage.

Bridget is best girl, I don't care what anyone has to say.
Yeah, no kidding. Her redesign is so good part of my brain is just kinda devoted to her now

I'm starting wonder if most of these people are actually "fans" in the loosest sense in the term. The type where they actually don't play the game, and only care about the fan art, while projecting their views/insecurities on to the character. Or people claiming their fans, but another sub set of ultra conservatives/alt-rights butting in fandoms, where they clearly don't belong and only want to ruin others days, because they cannot stand the thought of someone being different from them being represented positivity, nor as a negative and evil stereotype. Say what you will about the Street Fighter fandom (and there is a lot to unpack), but most of us accepted Poison as a transwoman (post-op in the West; pre-op in Japan. Don't look at me, ask Capcom.) without kicking and screaming this badly. You had your assholes, (Stuttering Craig from Screw Attack called Poison an "it". Even as a "joke", I found that in bad taste when I was 19. I am sure he thinks differently now) but good and decent people won out. Poison is pretty much part of the Final Fight-Street Fighter family since 2010.

Indeed it will - at least for a long time. We might just hope that a lot of them are unfortunately lost due to imperfections in the system until it becomes more mature technology.

Immortality is a fucking disaster in the making. Do we really want pretty much the same handful of billionaires squatting on 50+% of human wealth forever? It will require a massive rethink of our entire society, otherwise what the only thing it probably promises is economic and societal stagnation, and mass unrest.

What would really be interesting is that if the Billionaires make themselves immortal, how are their kids going to inherit their wealth when they don't die? Because those old fuckers aren't gonna give it up while they can still enjoy it.

They were exploring this in Altered Carbon

They're all deluded fools without empathy for even their own children, grandchildren, or whatever relatives they do have. Go head you jack asses; waste your entire life on stressing for immortality. When better time could have been better spent on anything else. Somebody should show them these life lessons as a reminder.

The thing about billionaires is that they can't grasp the concept of "enough". Normal people, after making enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives and provide for their kids, would say "that's good enough; I'm going to retire and enjoy life". But billionaires aren't normal; that point doesn't exist for them, and they simply can't stop until they've taken everything.

There's a reason that the love of money is often considered the root of all evil, or if take an eastern POV on this, Desire is the cause of all suffering. There are many, many reasons.

What really gets me is people who say they want to be immortal but also decry how awful the kids are these days because X, Y, and Z. Some of whom are maybe in their 40's or 50's. Imagine living forever and watching society you knew completely vanish, to the point eventually you'll and maybe a couple other immortals even remember it existed.

I mean, you get diptshits like this guy who are maybe 60 and whining about socialism because.....I don't fucking know. Imagine living to 1000, 10,000, 1 million, 1 billion and dealing with society becoming unrecognizable in reality, not just your myopic perspetion. That's not even going into what happens if and when society collapses and your millions in stock kinda don't matter any more and if you survive, you'll be eating rats with the rest of us(assuming you weren't lynched by the poors when the fall occured).

Socialists have "taken over education. It looks like they've taken over a lot of the corporations. It looks like they've taken over the military. And it's just continuing — so I'm deeply concerned," he added.

Mackey, who espouses the idea of "conscious capitalism" — which he describes as a management philosophy focused on ethical ways of doing business — also questioned the work ethic of younger Americans.

"I feel like I've become my father. I don't understand the younger generation — they don't seem to want to work," Mackey, 68, told Reason, saying that the enhanced unemployment benefits offered to people who lost jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic had make it hard for Whole Foods to find workers.
Not to mention all the fun of watching everyone you knew and love age and die in front of your eyes for those of us who aren't sociopaths who only care about how many yachts they can buy today.

Oh American Krogan. I think I vaguely recall him. Wasn’t he one of those GG youtubers who pretended not to be far right extremist, but people who thought those gosh darn SJW just went too far.

kinda let the mask slip there.

Imagine all that effort to "own the libs" in a seven-year-old game. Could've done something productive, like another nude mod.

"I feel like I've become my father."
Sorry to tell you, buddy, but you did. Just like he always knew you would. You're old and you're going to die soon, and all that money won't stop it.

They probably think that, if they live forever, they'll be able to force society to remain stagnant just to suit them.

Am now imagining a future where a new underground sect of society manifests: the immortal billionaire hunters/assassins. If they won't die naturally, well the communities are going to have to step in. Perhaps to even the odds they like to indulge in similar tactics, supplementing their bodies with experimental stimulants and technologies. Perhaps they inspire larger social movements and resistances. There may even be a dramatic showdown on a picturesque monolithic structure!

Plz credit me for the future comic book film adaptations of this if you can though. Thanks.
