Whatever, just wash your hands.
I think it's the hollowness of it all.

The image of

"We stand on stolen land that we wrongfully took from other people, but we're not going to do a fucking thing to actually make up the wrongs of our ancestors or anything"

It's also stupid because in the past everyone took land from everyone else at some point seemingly too. I'm sure the Italians are pissed at all the people who stole part sof their Roman Empire and people before that upset that the Romans invaded them. Or some clans who stole one another's land in the past.
I think its different from Europe, at least in the way that Europe had ever changing borders and almost constant conflict. America was pretty much just taken and treaties were ignored if anything settlers found was of value. As I said before, its kinda cringe, but is pretending the land was either found uninhabited or freely given better? I mean the best you got before with even acknowledging that force was involved was defending settlers from savages that just wanted to kill them, which kinda goes into the 'land being uninhabited' thing.

Dude, like seriously

What is 'cashing cheques I cant write' here? It's an acknowledgement. What do you think actually happens?
Like I said it does nothing on its own, though it reveals your character. It's no different than one of my friends posting on Facebook how you should be so understanding of others as she has some mental issues and thus you should be considerate as someone else might, but then she doesn't give others the same understanding that she wants given to her. That acknowledgement is just in essence a virtue signal when you don't actually follow through via your own actions. That's why I don't make such statements unless asked and I'll put in a "but" afterwards whereas the things I do abide by action-wise, I will initiate in conversation. You kinda have shit to stand when you're telling others to do something that you don't do yourself.

What specific action do YOU think should happen?

Edit: What do you think I'm not doing

Went over 4 of the links right here...
Dude, those throwaway gripes don't constitute 'going over the links'. All you did was find a limitation (every study on earth will have limitations) and then put that forward as if it renders the entire study obsolete. No further discussion, no serious consideration, just the usual kneejerk dismissal.

Sure, but the politicians who actually have the ability to make these things policy aren't receptive because they actually care, they're receptive because they think it will boost their chances of getting elected. Until that point, they don't care.
That's not universally true. But even if it was: ...so what?

You'd then have a choice between self-interested careerists who can be compelled to agree to progressive change (or at least not to accelerate regressive politics), or virulently hostile characters who can't. It's still a stark difference.

The political system isn't a place where competing ideological principles are engaged in open debate. At its core it's a stupid game rich people play with each other out of boredom and egotism. Winning as a progressive is about getting to the point where being receptive to progressive issues becomes conducive to winning the game.
Ignoring electoral politics is the one surefire way to ensure the powers that be will continue to consider your concerns irrelevant.

If we'd have followed your approach in the UK, we wouldn't have the NHS.

You do realize what this is right? It's a form of I will say X to avoid implementing Y. I will say I support you, but when it comes to the complex relationship forming, and not eating the movement alive with infighting, and doing power moves in congress. They would instead rather do pointless social issue virtue signaling. In my opinion, the greatest con of the American elites was accepting people into the elite that were not white.

Instead of saying expanding Ivy League admissions to more people which would raise all boats in a rising tide they instead accept some African Americans at the cost of poor whites, and poor Asians and keep legacy old money coming back to the college. Trust fund brats who have done nothing to deserve their money other than pure luck get to luck in.

Instead of enacting widespread or even middle-class enabling welfare programs like medicare for all they mean to test it to divide and conqueror the lower class vs the middle class.

Instead of expanding the number of doctors in residency for medicare, they keep healthcare expensive so that if you are middle-class or even upper-middle-class cancer will force you into bankruptcy.

I have seen the tactics of Neoliberals and their academic allies. They will do stupid shit like count houses as assets, and say hey 8% of Americans are millionaires says the neoliberal when in reality if you subtract houses from assets, only 1 percent have assets over one million not counting their houses.

All the wealthy and elites do is divide, obstruct, and obfuscate.

A real progressive who is serious about destroying the elite would target the business leaders, and DC creatures by forcing everyone else against them. However, I understand why most people think this is risky. For one we are in the imperial core, Americans even homeless ones aren't the worst off, tell that to kids in Ukraine, Yemen, Syria, Afganistan, etc.
Ehh, disagree. Considering that the main narrative for the longest time was the land was either taken from savages or not being used, I think land acknowledgements are a somewhat cringy method of trying to spread awareness of who was here before we took over. It by itself isn't a big step, but its more then just ignoring it.

Ugh, there is so much wrong here, I'm not sure where to start.

Anything that you think would actually rectify the situation, which would be pretty damn hard since it's basically unfixable.

Observational data is not strong for anything, it's a start but not much more. Not having a control group isn't very good. And your 3rd link literally said the surgery had no impact. Apparently a study literally concluding that surgery did nothing is a "throwaway gripe". What did I complain about in the big study? Nothing, but I'm also not a professional that looks over them (I know the basics) and it's just one recent study, you need more than just one study. Your claim is not "it looks like", it's that this is already settled science, which is complete fucking bullshit.

The female Italian leader is using a favorite fascist tactic. She is just controversial enough to attract the far right, but not contentious enough to turn away the moderate right who want NATO, and low tax economic reforms, but hate people based on skin color. I wish the left would so the same, I wish that instead of being extreme AOC would just accept capitalism and be a soc dem, then do the socialism while in power. Then we may finally get an election worth fighting for.

As long as the GOP is the GOP, there's always an election worth fighting for.

The second thing is basically a paraphrase of Hillary Clinton's take

I wish that instead of being extreme AOC would just accept capitalism and be a soc dem, then do the socialism while in power. Then we may finally get an election worth fighting for.
Except for the 'doing socialism while in power' part, AOC is already doing exactly that.

Not having a control group isn't very good.
It's tracking before-and-after improvement-- much like how medical professionals will study the efficacy of a drug or procedure for a patient.

Directly from the third link: "A marked reduction in psychopathology occurs during the process of sex reassignment therapy, especially after the initiation of hormone therapy".

Sex reassignment doesn't always mean surgery.

I literally couldn't care less if you think its unfixable. Just say your lazy and dont want to do anything

If you're feeling guilty because other people are doing things and you aren't, that's a you problem

If you dont like what we do, then you do something better. But again, if you're just too lazy, nobody cares. Throw your insults all you want. I'll only change when you have something better to offer. I'm not interested in being lazy

Hot take I despise Destiny, but I don't think Twitter should have banned him. Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, and generally social media are too ban-heavy, and your hate speech is not my hate speech.

I hard disagree, the 2012 election was basically one neoliberal vs another. They had the same healthcare proposal, and Obama copied Romney in almost every fashion. I also doubt a war in Iran would have started, and Russia had nuclear weapons.

What about the before and after improvement with therapy vs surgery...? That's why you need a control group.

And we are talking about surgery, not all other therapies and treatments.

You still haven't said what you are actually DOING to help.

Pretending to do medical procedures on people and then not doing them just to see what happens is an ethical nightmare and there's very many reasons we don't do that anymore.

What would a "control group" for therapy even look like? Deliberately giving bad advice? "We know you want help dealing with your gender dysphoria, but no and please don't try and help yourself"?

Or is the control group just the vast majority of people that exist that don't need therapy?
