You do understand that what you did was the equivalent of going to a thread in the escapist forums about controversial video games, immediately clicking the Reviews tab, and saying "these are all super main stream video games, why does anyone think this is controversial?"
Not really, because the QR code itself merely sent users to a general navigation page, not a specific thread or list.

Say we were both linked to the main Religion and Politics Current Affairs thread list. I looked in the navigation buttons on the left; you found a specific thread two-thirds of the way down that I missed.

The parent, on the other hand, found that specific thread two-thirds of the way down, spotted a term inside that thread, separately searched it elsewhere, and then blamed whoever sent her the original URL for promoting what she found.

Speaking of libraries, prominent TERF "thought leader" is on day 4 of whining about a non-gendered alien mascot who encourages kids to get a library card

I swear to god, nobody hates being a woman like a terf
TRA/MRA, huh? I think she's just trying to assign ideologies she doesn't like to a group whose actual identity is "anyone who disagrees with her".

Most women choose men of equal or greater height because.... most men are of equal or greater height.
That...doesn't track. Look at dating sites for instance where a surprising number of profiles of straight women will express a minimum height for prospective partners (or at least used to, haven't touched one of those sites since 2017) - this isn't that guys she picks will on average be taller than her it's that she's excluding guys who aren't.

Is this just not a thing in Ireland? I started dated again back in June after becoming single again and I have literally never once seen a profile say that. Also most of the women I date are more well off than me. I'm a 32 year old coffee shop manager.

Give me a percentage of the women that make up this 'suprising number'

Usually not as a requirement but women communicate height expectations just by giving their own height in their bio. But more importantly online dating is like a parallel world in which the sex ratio is super skewed and girls are smothered with attention from guys who should be doing something else but see online dating as the only good alternative. While it's still real, I'd apply the situation with a grain of salt into the offline world.

The gender pay gap is just bullshit. It doesn't substantiate even the slightest until raising a family becomes relevant. Discussion around education, career and lifestyle goals and expectations can easily be very gender equal nowadays. Anyone left pointing at the gender wage gap when talking about the remaining differences is clueless and ignorant.

The QR code didn't go to a general navigation page. It went to the Books Unbanned navigation page. The person who uses that page to navigate to the multiple banned book lists it provides was using the page as intended.

Are you seriously arguing that a teacher posting a link labelled "books the state doesn't want you to read" that goes to a page with the header "Books Unbanned" which links to multiple sources of information about which books are banned including a reading list of banned books curated by the Brooklyn Library and accessible through that website was intending for them to use that link to get to Diary of a Wimpy Kid on a totally different part of the site?

No, and that wasn't really the point I was making. The point I was making was that how a user navigates from the 'Books Unbanned' navigation page-- which is a navigation page, not a specific list-- is not really the fault of whoever sent that URL. The user in this case even separately searched for the contents of one of the books outside of the site and then blamed the teacher for the results of her search.

It's akin to someone suggesting I go to a public library in town because they have a good (I don't know) politics section. I do that, find a book with a sex scene in there (amongst the hundreds of others) and blame the person who made the referral.

Literally just something I noticed from back when I made use of those sites (again, last time was in 2017, which was also the shortest stint I ever used one). It was really common to mention in profiles. I don't think I'm alone in that observation either, just google online dating and height and you can find a lot of articles that seem to have made the same observation.

Unrelated, but the strangest match I ever got on one of those sites apparently was interested because I reminded her of one of the guys on Duck Dynasty and she was into that show to a disturbing degree.

While it's still real, I'd apply the situation with a grain of salt into the offline world.

For example, among men, only 1.3% want to only date women taller than them whereas 13.5% want to only date women shorter than them. But among women 1.7% wanted to only date men shorter than them whereas 48.9% wanted to only date men taller than them.

You're deperately trying to minimize the visibility of that particular book. It would be like if your hypothetical library had a giant sign pointing at the politics section and at the entrance to the politics section there was a list of top political texts with Mein Kampf as #1 and a poster that they were doing a reading event to celebrate Mein Kampf. Which of course makes Mein Kampf just another book in the stacks that you'd have to actively seek out to even know it's there and that no one is at all promoting.

Scarcely. It seems to me that people have just lost any and all sense of perspective on this.

I mean, "erotica"? "Pornographic"? It's tame as fuck-- about equivalent to the pics on wikipedia-- and obvious to every person who's being honest that it's not intended to be arousing. Anybody who says they think it's intended to arouse is being utterly disingenuous.

Well, I'm never said it didn't exist. I have seen it, but also not very much at all. At a guess, I would have said 10% at most. With the added note that 1) people use mulitple sites so it might be showing up mulitple times in the data. 2) I would assume that most women caring about money would also care about height

Like Golddiggers, I would say they exist. But it is a small proportion. And it would be an absolute red flag for most men to stay away from

Is there any way to actually enforce this?

Because I'm imagining Twitch, Tiktok and Wikimedia just going "What are you gonna do, Russia? Invade us and then run out of gas half an hour later?"

Or maybe Russia gonna threaten to nuke them too. It seems to be all they do anymore.

Unless the companies have property to confiscate or employees to arrest (which would be a pretty extreme move) in Russian territory (or a friendly foreign country), no, not really. East Bullshittia could fine me a hundred billion dollars for blasphemy, but they can sit and spin for all the power they'd have to collect on it.

About the best they can do is put up their own version of the internet like China did. But the Chinese accidentally... regularly find many ways around this. And they dont have the social media infrastructure to do this quickly
