Not a fan of the "intensity director", in practice I guess it'll mean if you have a lot of health and ammo it'll just throw more enemy at you, inertly if your doing and it'll just lay off. Meaning you can't really do better and conserving ammo is actively punished.
This is why I ended up not buying the RE2 remake.

So very Geiger inspired?
I mean, the game was basically presented as "Half-Life 2 by way of H.R. Giger" even way back when.

I sometimes think of taking another stab at RE2 Remake, but it really does feel like you can easily screw yourself if you don’t play exactly the way it wants you to. Like, there is a specific way to progress, and ammo is scarce, and then that big asshole shows up to fuck with you every so often, and the seemingly unkillable carnivorous plants you have to backtrack past in the lab which really suck if you missed picking up the flamethrower before the elevator ride, or those things blocking your path in the sewers, or ahh hell…

then that big asshole shows up to fuck with you every so often,
Once you know how Mr. X works, he's not that annoying. It helps to clear out certain key rooms beforehand, unless you're doing some specific self-imposed challenge.

Either shoot out the bulbs as Leon or Claire, or make sure to always have a sub-weapon (preferably a knife or flash bang; 2 at the very least) with you. There is also a trick where if you down two or more Ivys in the same spot, you can burn both of them on the ground and use less flame ammo/flame rounds. With Claire, if you got the Electric Gun in the sewer, it fries them instantly. It won't kill them, but they will be down for a while. This a great advantage when you know the optimum route.

those things blocking your path in the sewers
G-Babies. I hope you have the Magnum as Leon, or the Mac-11 as Claire. She does get a Magnum upgrade for her revolver, but you can't make ammo for it. Finding it is harder, and is best saved for the final bosses, depending on the scenario.

Like "if H.R. Giger still lived, he'd sue" levels of inspired.

The HL2 comparison doesn't hold up tho. It's far too slow-paced and puzzle focused for that. Also nowhere near as intuitively designed as a Valve game.

Yeah it feels like they just wanted to show off how cool their art style rip off is. And it is cool but the game is unremarkable beyond belief.

Dude, classic Resident Evil. I mean, come on, it's why the remake of 2 is so bloody good; that tense management that'll only really show the fruits of your labor until after the final Boss is dead. I remember my first B-playthrough of the original RE2, and I ended up facing the Tyrant with 'danger' health. And if you know that fight you know the guy's very first attack is a quick slide toward you followed by a claw swipe that's nearly unavoidable. I was pretty much screwed and had to restart that entire playthrough, but I damn well learned after that.

Love how they were keeping this info until right around the release
How is it we are in the 9th generation, and we have all of these advanced, high price, AAA games, and a lot of them still can't run 60fps?! I don't care about being more "cinematic"! If you're on supposedly more powerful hardware, then what is the goddamn point?!

But the human eye can't see more than three frames per second! Anything more than that is wasted! My favorite game is perfect and you can't criticize it!

That's the thing though, I think most if not all AAA games have a 60fps mode now. Even a lot of previous gen games got a 60fps patch for current consoles. If Horizon: Forbidden West can run at 60 while looking the way it does AND being open-world, but I don't know the hell is going on with Gotham Knights. Is it just the co-op that fucks it up? Both Demon's Souls and Elden Ring have co-op and run at 60. 🤷‍♂️

Holy shit. My entry level job pays more than that. How shitty must the devs be?
From what I'm reading is pretty clear that just wanted her out and get a bigger name like Jennifer Hales.

What an absolute shit way to treat someone who was fundamental to the series' success.

I see I'm late to the party regarding Gotham Knights.

Why? How? WHY?!? The game looks like it came out a full console generation before Arkham Knight. I'm sure it's not as simple as "lowering the resolution", but for fuck's sake, just look at this game.

Just read what Kamiya tweeted about this. Yikes dude, just... ew.
Is this different from his first reaction to the issue?
