Something, something, then everything changed when the fire nation attacked, something, something.
Well, technically it's the Air Nomads who attacked first in this case. 0_0

This mother-fucker. He had the audacity to sue Nickelodeon just because his movie and their show share the same name, even though Avatar The Last Airbender came out first. But now he's more than happy to start ripping them off. Fuck off Cameron.
Um, source? It's true that TLA had to gain the subtitle because of copyright issues, I've never seen any mention of a lawsuit.

Either him or the movie studio complained/theatened to sue about it, and Nickelodeon gave in so easily. Even though ATLA had already been out for 5 years by that fucking point!

I got some parts wrong, but Cameron can still fuck off.

... Is it weird that I didn't even think about that implication until you brought it up?

Since five movies are now confirmed, we now need Avatar 6 and 7 to be made - one movie per book!

Movie 1: Air
Movie 2: Water
Movie 3: Fire
Movie 4: Spirit
Movie 5: Earth
Movie 6: Change
Movie 7: Balance

You know you want it! :p

...but in seriousness, much as I saw the joke immediately when it came up, it's silly to cultivate some kind of rivalry between the two IPs when they have practically nothing in common bar their name. At least something like the Star Trek vs. Wars debate has two IPs nominally in the same genre (even if I'd argue that Trek is sci-fi and Wars is space fantasy), the two Avatars are even further divergent.

Well there's an eye-catching intriguity. Wonder if it'll appeal to some of the MCU non-initiated too.

Also, lol.

Anyone else feel like they revealed a little too much of the story with this trailer? I mean looks fun. Kind of crazy how little the MCU appeals to me now. Not trying to be a snob or whatever, just genuinely shocking to me that the prospect of a new MCU movie, especially one that promises to be the beginning of a new era, doesn't excite me.

Well there’s only been like what, two or three dozen of them now if we include the streaming shows. Maybe even without. I mean sure there are hundreds of comics but that doesn’t spell a 1:1 translation to the big screen. Who knows how much they are even following the comics anymore anyways.

Yeah I really wish I hadn't watched it. Pretty much revealed the whole movie and outline each plot beat.

Tempered expectations are the optimal, recommended expectations to approach all entertainment with. 😉

(I should never be allowed online with my phone that late ever again, god damn👀) Would've thought to add a warning for the amount of plot given away in it too at least. 😔

Just gonna sneak in this A24 trailer for new Ari Aster film while here...
