Well that was awkward.
If you listen carefully, you can hear sweet little lies faintly playing in the background

It's like the 4th release date....Well that was awkward.
Why did it seem like Phil was pointing a gun at Todd just off camera. It's like the 4th release date....
Todd: "We are serious now guys, the release date is set for September!"
Us: "Ok cool, are you sure?"
Todd: "Totally. At least 76% sure!"
Us: "Can we get a gameplay trailer then?"
Todd: "uh....It's coming in September!"
Oh. Was the sound of a revolver being cocked just my imagination then? Why did it seem like Phil was pointing a gun at Todd just off camera.
Yahtzee just talking about this earlier today. I would have preferred Suicide Squads gameplay be in the style Anarchy Reigns, but that other idea works better than the live service model.Speaking of delays https://kotaku.com/dc-suicide-squad-delay-kill-the-justice-league-batman-1850208924
This looks like ultimately another Marvel's Avenger's situation. Where they are trying to make a live service game without really any understand of how to do it and not having enough of a framework to make a game like that work. Instead you have a game that really should play like that Guardians of the Galaxy game, a character driven story action game that's light hearted super hero action. No big deal.
But these companies think that everything can be an infinite money generator and that shit just aint going to happen. Especially as people are starting to actively ignore and avoid games that do this because they've realized it's too much.
What's weird is that when I saw the big presentation at that State of Play, I thought that a GoG type of story and game was what the plan was. Maybe some co-op with friends online. But to make it a live service just seems like a total lost cause and incredibly bad idea, there isn't enough there to make it some continuous game, and the gameplay looks way too repetitive in order to hold attention of people beyond a 12-15hour campaign.Yahtzee just talking about this earlier today. What I don’t understand is the whole “10 year commitment” idea behind these live service games. Who wants to play the same game for 10 fucking years? No matter how acclaimed and great the game is, I would hate tokeep coming back for more.Speaking of delays https://kotaku.com/dc-suicide-squad-delay-kill-the-justice-league-batman-1850208924

Certainly not me and World of Warcraft, no sir. uh..ha ha...Who wants to play the same game for 10 fucking years?
At the very least, they are trying with major expansions. I guess that’s expected from a subscription-based systemCertainly not me and World of Warcraft, no sir. uh..ha ha...
"We had a trailer but it kept crashing. Now if you excuse I need to get something out of my car"It's like the 4th release date....

This looks like an ad I would expect to see from an Evangelical group trying to smear KFC as being Satanic or something.
Now you can get a heart attack while getting loots in the the game!
Bread is for liberal wussies! Real red-blooded Americans use meat as the sandwich! Also it took me a moment to realize that was two pieces of chicken with bacon and cheese in the middle and that's also a real thing.
The KFC double down has been a thing for over a decade now. Where the hell you been? Also it took me a moment to realize that was two pieces of chicken with bacon and cheese in the middle and that's also a real thing.
I'm gonna go lie down for a bit. The world is getting too wierd, even for me.
This isn't going to go well. I don't think people had much of a problem with the actual gameplay shown, people are shitting on it because of the live service nature. They can't polish that shit unless they are going to restructure the game to get rid of it entirely, but then you'll end up with a shell of a game and it'll be like Gotham Knights. I say the should just finish up the game, release it and cut their loses.‘Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’ Reportedly Delayed To Be ‘Polished’ After Backlash
It’s been a strangely rocky road for Suicide Squad, given that everyone assumed that Rocksteady’s next post-Arkham superhero game would be a slam dunk, no matter what it was. But last month, Suicide Squad took center stage during a high profile PlayStation showcase, and the reaction was…poorwww.forbes.com
I vote for them to scrap and rebuild it completely. A Doom 2016 scenario. There's no way such a dull gameplay loop (at least judging from the gameplay demo) can hold anyone's attention. It's a real shame that K. Conroy got dragged into this... What is Rocksteady thinking? They broke the mold with Arkham Asylum, but now, after harnessing so much success - they're looking for ways to follow the latest trends?! Everything I've seen of the game so far makes me think that there isn't a single creative bone left in that team...I say the should just finish up the game, release it and cut their loses.
Warner Bros. It always bounces back to Warner Bros. Rocksteady still shares some blame of course, but they can only do what they're told. It's the usual: publishers getting involved where they don't belong, and trying to get infinite money and infinite growth. What is Rocksteady thinking?
